Opis:: The paper has analyzed the possibility of using the Python computer language in programming mobile robots. The designed and constructed test stand – a caterpillar mobile robot, enables the testing of wireless control algorithms, responses to events, I/O device programming methods and path selection algorithms. The software applications(client and server) written in the Python computer language have been developed and analyzed. A partial listing of the program source is included. The usefulness of Python in robot applications was confirmed.

Opis:: Już prawie 3 % stanu ewidencyjnego Sił Zbrojnych RP pełni służbę poza granicami naszego kraju. Służba ta, tak bardzo różniąca się od pełnionej w rodzimych jednostkach, skutkować może specyficznymi obciążeniami psychologicznymi, kosztami zdrowotnymi i społecznymi. Artykuł opisuje ewolucję poglądów na temat stresu bojowego, przedstawia typowe stresory żołnierzy, w tym także te, które doświadczane są na polu walki oraz stanowi przegląd wybranych wyników badań polskich i zachodnich dotyczących psychospołecznych i zdrowotnych kosztów pełnienia służby w warunkach bojowych i operacyjnych.
Almost 3% of the Polish Armed Forces is serving abroad. The service abroad is very much different from that in Poland and may result in many specific psychological, health and social costs. The article describes the evolution of opinions regarding war stress and presents the typical stress factors of soldiers, including those from the battlefield. The article is also a review of the results of Polish research regarding the psychological and health costs of military service under operational and battle conditions.

Opis:: The problem of designing radiation-tolerant devices working in application critical systems becomes very important especially if human life depends on the reliability of control mechanisms. One of the possible solution of this problem are pure software protection methods. They constitute different category of techniques to detect transient faults and correct corresponding errors. Software fault tolerance schemes are cheaper to implement since they can be used with standard, commercial of-the-shelf (COTS) components. Additionally, they do not require any hardware modification. In this paper, author propose a new implementation mechanism for software based fault protection algorithms performed automatically during application compilation.

Opis:: Przedstawiony artykuł prezentuje wykorzystanie syntezowalnego modulatora wektorowego opisanego w języku wysokiego poziomu. Zastosowanie reprogramowalnego układu logicznego w miejsce układu analogowego umożliwia poprawienie jakości sygnału przez wyeliminowanie wad rozwiązania analogowego. Przykładowym zastosowaniem prezentowanego rozwiązania jest sterowanie polem przyśpieszającym akceleratorów liniowych, jednak może być on wykorzystane w telekomunikacji jako modulator wektorowy.
Using typical analog vector modulator (Fig. 1) in particle accelerator control emphases technical inaccuracies (Fig. 2). There is a possibility of using FPGA device to calculate samples of signal for digital-to-analog converter from vector value. Using this solution is possible to replace analog vector modulator with digital circuit, or even integrate it with controlling device inside one FPGA. FPGAs have not enough speed efficiency for direct calculation of samples. This paper presents solution for sample switching and precalculation of sample values based on inverse Fourier transform. Shown solution consists of multiple parallel shifters (Fig. 3, 4) which can operate at very high frequency.

Opis:: Single Event Upset is a common source of failure in microprocessor-based systems working in environment with increased radiation level especially in places like accelerators and synchrotrons, where sophisticated digital devices operate closely to the radiation source. One of the possible solutions to increase the radiation immunity of the microprocessor systems is a strict programming approach known as the Software Implemented Hardware Fault Tolerance. Unfortunately, a manual implementation of SIHFT algorithms is difficult and can introduce additional problems with program functionality caused by human errors. In this paper author presents new approach to this problem, that is based on the modifications of the source code of the C language compiler. Protection methods are applied automatically during source code processing at intermediate representation of the compiled program.

Opis:: The aim of the article is to introduce the issues of responsibility and conscientiousness. Its empirical part focuses on the presentation of the results of comparative studies per-formed among soldiers (n = 62) and civilians (n = 62) with regard to conscientiousness and responsibility. The Sense of Responsibility Scale by Romuald Debris and scales examining conscientiousness from NEO-PI-R questionnaire by Paul Costa and Robert McCrae were used for the study purposes. The results obtained show that, contrary to public opinion, soldiers are not more diligent and responsible than people working in civilian professions. Practical implications were subjected to discussion and further research directions have been proposed.

Opis:: Artykuł w części teoretycznej charakteryzuje problematykę dyrektywności, autorytaryzmu, postaw rodzicielskich oraz stylów wychowania. Część empiryczna artykułu przedstawia wyniki badań nad dyrektywnością i postawami rodzicielskimi u żołnierzy WP. Powszechne stereotypy społeczne definiują żołnierzy jako osoby o wysokim poziomie autorytaryzmu i dyrektywności oraz przejawiające surowe postawy wychowawcze wobec swoich dzieci. Badania przeprowadzone na grupie żołnierzy i pracowników WP oraz osób zatrudnionych w zawodach cywilnych obalają znaczną cześć tych stereotypów. Wyłaniający się obraz żołnierza w istotny sposób odbiega od aktualnie panującego stereotypu, ale co jest bardzo interesujące, nie różni się znacznie od postaw przejawianych przez osoby cywilne w zakresie analizowanych zmiennych.
The article in its theoretical part is characterized by the problems of directiveness, authoritarianism, parental attitudes and education styles. The purpose of this article is to present the results of research on directiveness and parental attitudes of the Polish Army soldiers. Common social stereotypes define soldiers as people who have a high level of authoritarianism and directiveness and who manifest harsh parenting attitudes to their children. The study on a group of soldiers, Polish military personnel and people working in civilian professions refute the substantial part of these stereotypes. The emerging picture of a soldier is very different from the current stereotype, but what is very interesting is that this picture is not significantly different from the behavior exhibited by civilians in relation to the analyzed variables.

Opis:: Modern particle accelerators[8] have very strict requirements for controlling signal. To generate signal controlling field in cavities there is a possibility to use digital vector modulator and analog upconverter[6]. Hardware circuit consists of FPGA device, digital to analog converter and low pass filter. For experiments there is also a need to design and develop measurement circuit. Same circuit could be used in final application as diagnostics module. This enables an option for constant long term measurement and fault detection. This paper presents construction of such module.
