Opis:: Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest – new research perspectivesThe goal of this paper is to present the vast array of content that is emerging within social media platforms: Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Pinterest and analyze the ways in which they can be classified. This is a review of the available interdisciplinary methods and factors that should be taken into consideration when researching the genelogy of the texts that arise in the network. The Internet has changed the face of social communication. It has highlighted processes that were much less visible before. The challenge for researchers is to analyze the enormous amount of content and incorporate it into a classification system. Above all, statements made on social media platforms, such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Pinterest, require analysis. Previous attempts to systematize them did not correspond to the reality of the network. Research on the Internet genres and communication forms requires the use of relevant analytical tools and interdisciplinary approaches. Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest – nowe perspektywy badawczeCelem publikacji jest zaprezentowanie ogromnej liczby różnorodnych treści, które powstają w ramach platform społecznościowych: Facebook, Twitter, Instagram i Pinterest, oraz analiza dostępnych sposobów ich klasyfikacji. Chodzi zatem o przegląd dostępnych interdyscyplinarnych metod i czynników, które warto brać pod uwagę przy badaniach genologicznych tekstów, które powstają w sieci. Internet zmienił oblicze społecznej komunikacji. Uwypuklił procesy, które do tej pory nie były tak widoczne. Wyzwaniem dla badaczy jest analiza ogromnej ilości treści i ujęcie ich w system klasyfikacji. Analizy wymagają przede wszystkim komunikaty powstające w ramach mediów społecznościowych, takich jak Facebook, Twitter, Instagram i Pinterest. Dotychczasowe próby systematyzacji nie odpowiadały realiom sieci. Badania form gatunkowo-komunikacyjnych internetu wymagają wykorzystywania przynależnych sieci narzędzi analitycznych oraz podejścia interdyscyplinarnego.

Opis:: The article describes the methods of the SMS genre use, emphasising language competency (system proficiency) and communication competency (including pragmatic competency) of the tested group. The author presents the results of tests performed on a group of children with hearing disability (with various rate and type of hearing disability) aged 12–16 and confronts the results with the results achieved in the group of children without hearing issues (development norm). The article attempts to determine the mutual relations between language and communication competency acquisition by children with hearing disability and their genre competency. Short Message Service (SMS) was used as an example genre.

Tytuł:: Satysfakcja z komunikacji w zespołach wielokulturowych
Communication satisfaction in multicultural groups

Opis:: Celem pracy jest określenie satysfakcji z komunikacji w zespołach wielokulturowych wśród pracowników krakowskich przedsiębiorstw na podstawie badań własnych. Narzędzie badawcze zostało opracowane na podstawie Communication Satisfaction Questionnaire z 1977 roku, autorstwa Downs i Hazen oraz na podstawie skal pochodzących z modelu wrażliwości kulturowej Bennett’a. Przebadano 45 osób, jako zmienną zależną określono satysfakcję z komunikacji, a główną zmienną niezależną jest wrażliwość kulturowa. Podstawowe założenie nie potwierdziło się – wrażliwość kulturowa nie warunkuje satysfakcji z komunikacji. Pozostałe zmienne niezależne tj. staż pracy za granicą, płeć nie wpływają w znaczący sposób na zmienną zależną.
The main aim of the thesis is to describe the level of communication satisfaction in multicultural team. There was a research conducted amongst Cracow corporations’ employees. The author has created a questionnaire on the basis of Downs and Hazen’s Communication Satisfaction Questionnaire from 1977 and Bennett Model of Cultural Competency. Forty-five respondents participated in the research. There are two main variable: communication satisfaction as dependent variable and cultural competency as independent variable. The basic argument was not corroborated – culture competency has not influenced communication satisfaction. Remaining variables – job seniority, sex do not affect dependent variable.

Opis:: During the COVID-19 pandemic era, the importance of employee engagement increased considerably. Employee engagement paves the way to a high level of employee job performance and organizational financial performance within the organization. The main aim of this study was to investigate employee engagement and its relationships with four constructs which can be considered as the dynamics of employee engagement. The selected four dynamics are leadership, communication climate, information and communication technology awareness and competency, and trust. The unit of analysis in this quantitative study was the executive employees in a Sri Lankan organization whose core business involved publishing, printing, book-selling and education. Four hypotheses were tested with minimal researcher interference in a non-contrived setting as part of this cross-sectional study. Research findings indicated significant relationships between employee engagement and leadership as well as communication climate. Connections to information and communication technology awareness and competency and trust were also established. Further implications and recommendations have been discussed.

Opis:: The relevance of this problem is related to an insufficient degree of the development of the issue of identifying the evaluation function of the competence-based training of students. The research objective: to identify and systematize, on the basis of the functional analysis of the knowledge-resource capacity of the teacher’s professional polyfunctional activity, the priority components that can be considered as indicators of quality and effectiveness of the competency-based training. The leading technologies to the study of this problem are the technologies of mastering the types of speech activity with adequate speech design, aspect-integrated learning, self-activation, personality-oriented communication, etc. In the article there are reflected the results of this work, during which students mastered the characteristics of the professional communication as important indicators of the quality level of the professional communicative competency. Opis:: Though the system of maritime education and training in Ukraine has already been formed there is still the lack of graduates’ ability to perform specific duties especially the difficulties in the use of Maritime English during shipboard practice and professional activity. It stresses out the need to develop the system of professional training to provide the growth of quality and effectiveness of higher maritime education and to guarantee the development of communicative competency of future seafarers. The current study investigates the growing need of professionally-oriented communicative competency formation and development while teaching cadets/students of higher maritime institutions is based on the requirements stipulated by the International Maritime Organization (IMO) to the level of English language level proficiency and the recognition of the English language as the working language of multicultural shipboard environment. The research shows that the professionally-oriented communicative competency of seafarers must be regarded as a complex phenomenon which must be studied from the point of view of a systematic approach as a single integral system that encompasses a specific amount of components. The study demonstrated the structure of the professionally-oriented communicative competency of seafarers and analyzed the core structural components of the professionally-oriented communicative competency of seafarers.
Choć system kształcenia i szkolenia morskiego na Ukrainie został już ukształtowany, nadal brakuje absolwentów zdolności do wykonywania określonych obowiązków, zwłaszcza są trudności w posługiwaniu się językiem morskim w trakcie praktyki i pracy zawodowej na statku. Autoray podkreśla potrzebę rozwoju systemu szkolenia zawodowego, aby zapewnić wzrost jakości i efektywności szkolnictwa wyższego morskiego oraz zagwarantować rozwój kompetencji komunikacyjnych przyszłych marynarzy. Obecne badanie bada rosnącą potrzebę profesjonalnego kształtowania i rozwoju kompetencji komunikacyjnych podczas nauczania podchorążych / studentów wyższych uczelni morskich w oparciu o wymagania określone przez Międzynarodową Organizację Morską (IMO) do poziomu znajomości języka angielskiego i uznania języka angielskiego jako języka roboczego wielokulturowego środowiska okrętowego. Z badań wynika, że kompetencje komunikacyjne marynarzy zorientowane zawodowo należy traktować jako zjawisko złożone, które należy badać z punktu widzenia podejścia systemowego jako jednego integralnego systemu obejmującego określoną liczbę elementów. W badaniu przedstawiono strukturę kompetencji komunikacyjnych zorientowanych zawodowo marynarzy oraz przeanalizowano podstawowe elementy strukturalne kompetencji komunikacyjnych marynarzy zorientowanych zawodowo.
