Opis:: Let B(X) denote the family of all nonempty closed bounded subsets of a real Banach space X, endowed with the Hausdorff metric. For E, F ∈ B (X) we set [formula]. Let D denote the closure (under the maximum distance) of the set of all (E, F) ∈ B (X) x B (X) such that λE,F > 0. It is proved that the set of all (E, F) ∈ D for which the minimization problem [formula] fails to be well posed in a σ-porous subset of D.

Opis:: In this paper the solution for hesitant fuzzy system as AX = B is introduced where A is an n×n known hesitant fuzzy matrix, B is an n×1 known hesitant fuzzy vector and X is an n×1 unknown hesitant fuzzy vector. First, L∞-norm and L1-norm of a hesitant fuzzy vector are introduced. Then, the concepts of hesitant fuzzy zero, ’almost equal’ and ’less than’ and ’equal’ are defined for two hesitant fuzzy numbers. Finally, using a minimization problem; the hesitant fuzzy system is solved. At the end, some numerical examples are presented to show the effectiveness of the proposed method.

Opis:: Properties of estimators of a functional parameter in an inverse problem setup are studied. We focus on estimators obtained through dense minimization (as opposed to minimization over δ-nets) of suitably defined empirical risk. At the cost of imposition of a sort of local finite-dimensionality assumption, we fill some gaps in the proofs of results published by Klemela and Mammen [Ann. Statist. 38 (2010), 482-511]. We also give examples of functional classes that satisfy the modified assumptions.

Opis:: The gradient-projection algorithm (GPA) plays an important role in solving constrained convex minimization problems. In this paper, we combine the GPA and averaged mapping approach to propose an explicit composite iterative scheme for finding a common solution of a generalized equilibrium problem and a constrained convex minimization problem. Then, we prove a strong convergence theorem which improves and extends some recent results.

Opis:: The optimal control problems and a weight minimization problem are considered for elastic three-layered plate with inner obstacle and friction condition on a part of the boundary. The state problem is represented by a variational inequality and the design variables influence both the coefficients and the set of admissible state functions. We prove the existence of a solution to the above-mentioned problem on the basis of a general theorem on the control of variational inequalities. Next, the approximate optimization problem is proved on the basis of the general theorem for the continuous problem. When the mesh/size tends to zero, then any sequence of appropriate solutions converges uniformly to a solution of the continuous problem. Finally, the application to the optimal design of unilaterally supported of rotational symmetrical load elastic annular plate is presented.

Opis:: A bus station contains several bus stops. Only one bus can occupy a single bus stop at a time. Buses of many trips arrive to the bus station during the day (or during another considered period) and every bus occupies a bus stop for a certain time interval. The set of available bus stops is limited. This paper studies a problem how to assign a bus stop to every bus trip in order to minimize the number of assigned bus stops and in order to comply several additional conditions. Several approaches to this problem are presented. These approaches differ according to considered additional conditions.
Na stacji autobusowej może znajdować się kilka platform. W tym samym czasie przy jednej platformie może znajdować się tylko jeden autobus. W ciągu dnia na stację autobusową przyjeżdżają autobusy z różnych połączeń i każdy z nich zajmuje platformę przez określony czas. Ten artykuł ma na celu pokazanie problemu przyporządkowania platform do wszystkich połączeń i jednoczesnej minimalizacji liczby platform przy spełnieniu określonych warunków. Prezentowane są różne sposoby rozwiązania problemu. Każdy ze sposobów różni się w zależności od dalszych warunków.

Opis:: Formulation and solution of the initial boundary-value problem of heat conduction in solids have been presented when an entropy generation minimization principle is imposed as the arbitrary constraint. Using an entropy balance equation and the Euler-Lagrange variational approach a new form of the heat conduction equation (non-linear partial difference equation) is derived.

Tytuł:: Modelling effective legal aid system

Opis:: Aim: This article presents a theoretical model that enables achievement of macroeconomic efficiency of the legal aid system by means of adjusting supply to the pre-determined demand. Results: Main deterministic components of aggregate demand for legal aid are defined using a shift-share type framework. The knowledge of its parameters makes it possible to estimate expected demand for legal aid in response to various formulae of possible reforms of the system. Motivation: Estimates of demand serve to compute legal aid supply that minimizes social costs of legal aid provision. This task is accomplished by means of the so called assignment problem originating the field of operational research. Providers are divided in line with their average productivities in solving appropriate legal cases and the aggregate personal costs of legal aid provision are subject to minimization.
