Opis:: This article presents the issue of designating the number of docks at the transhipment terminals using genetic algorithm. Transhipment terminals refer to cross-docking terminals. The main factor that influences on the number of these docks is the stream of cargo flowing into the given terminal. In order to determine this flow of cargo the mathematical model of the distribution of this flow was developed. This model takes into account constraints like those that e.g. processing capacity at the transhipment terminal cannot be exceeded or demand of recipients must be met. The criterion function in this model determines the minimum cost of the flow of cargo between all objects in the transport network. To designate the optimal stream of cargo flowing into the transport network the genetic algorithm was developed. In this article, the stages of construction of this algorithm were presented. The structure processed by the algorithm, the process of crossover and mutation were described. In the article in order to solve the problem of designating the number of docks at the transhipment terminals the genetic algorithm was developed.

Opis:: Wzrost udziału kontenerów w wymianie towarowej było jedną z głównych przyczyn rozwoju intermodalnej sieci transportowej. W Polsce rozwój transportu intermodalnego jest stały, aczkolwiek powolny. Gęstość terminali intermodalnych oraz stan kolejowej infrastruktury liniowej są niezadowalające. Jednym z warunków rozwoju transportu intermodalnego w Polsce jest poprawa dostępu do intermodalnej sieci transportowej i logistycznej, w tym poprawa stanu technicznego infrastruktury liniowej. Jednym z największych i niewątpliwie najprężniej rozwijających się terminalem intermodalnym jest Deepwater Container Terminal w Gdańsku. DCT Gdańsk aktywizuje udział transportu morskiego oraz w dużym stopniu transportu kolejowego. Dzięki połączeniom z terminalami w głębi lądu jest punktem wymiany towarowej między Dalekim Wschodem, a Europą Północno-Wschodnią. W artykule zostaną przedstawione możliwe działania pozwalające na wzrost udziału transportu intermodalnego w Polsce w stosunku do ogółu transportowanych towarów.
Intermodal transportation is becoming more and more willingly used in the goods supply chain in view of its specific, flexible characteristics. In Poland, intermodal transportation is based primarily on land-sea and rail-road transportation, using mostly containers. The most frequently used containers in 2017 were the 40-feet containers which accounted for over 57% of all containers transported. Contribution of the railway transportation in intermodal transportation is increasing every year. Despite the slow growth, both, planned as well as already carried out investments in intermodal terminals, indicate continuous growing pattern. Many operators strive to improve the technical condition of nodal and linear infrastructure that leads to raising the quality of services provided. Large number of investments aimed at improving the functioning of intermodal transportation in Poland are made by PKP PLK S.A which is the conductor rail operator. The most important of them include improvement of the railway lines technical condition of the major routes, that would increase the average operational speed. The largest intermodal terminal in Poland is the DCT Gdańsk located in the Northern Port in Gdańsk. The annual transshipment ability of the terminal after the investments made is set at 3 million TEU. The terminal is connected with the hinterland by road and rail connections. Due to high quality technical equipment it is able to serve up to 9 trains a day which adds up to almost 300 trains per month. It provides railway connection to almost all overland intermodal terminals in the country. DCT Gdańsk gladly invests in development of the railway transportation and endeavour to achieve rail system development not only at the terminal, but also throughout Poland.

Opis:: The article presents the conception of an innovative bimodal rolling stock system adapted for the transverse horizontal loading of semi-trailers on the railway bogies equipped with appropriate adapters. The logistic diagram of the organization of the transhipment terminal is presented. The conception of the solution of adapters construction (central and final) and adaptation of the existing bimodal semi-trailer for transverse loading is illustrated. The possibilities of automation of service activities during transhipment of semi-trailers are also indicated.
W artykule zaprezentowano koncepcję innowacyjnego systemu taboru bimodalnego przystosowanego do poprzecznego, poziomego załadunku naczep na wózki kolejowe wyposażone w odpowiednie adaptery. Przedstawiono schemat logistyczny organizacji terminala przeładunkowego. Zilustrowano koncepcję rozwiązania konstrukcji adapterów (środkowego i końcowego) oraz adaptacji istniejącej naczepy bimodalnej do poprzecznego załadunku. Wskazano również możliwości automatyzacji czynności obsługowych przy przeładunku naczep.

The article discusses the issue of intermodal transport and its importance in transit transport in Poland. It was discussed European transport corridors that run through the area of Polish and built the Via Carpatia. The resulting route more attractive and significantly enrich the eastern Polish territories, which is to run through. Extremely important in this regard is the existence of linear and point infrastructure of road transport in these areas. It was discussed the prevalence and the number of terminals in the country.

Opis:: Nowadays managers and decision-makers around the world seek every opportunity to lower costs of the ship’s mooring time at seaports. In this article, main operations taking place at maritime container terminals are first disaggregated in several elementary activities. Then the vessel cycle time is analysed while separately investigating the STS (Ship to Shore) crane cycle time, the RTG (Rubber-Tyred Gantry) crane work cycle time and the IMV (Internal Movement Vehicle) transfer time. A triangular distribution describes times of each of the container handling stages while the PERT (Program Evaluation and Review Technique) method is used to estimate the total time for all reloading activities. The paper demonstrates the proposed method effectiveness with data of Baltic Container Terminal (BCT) Gdynia. The use of formulas developed for the calculation of times of individual operations that affect the reloading of a container at maritime container terminals enables an in-depth assessment of the effectiveness of the reloading processes. Thus, the proposed tool gives terminal managers opportunity to track which stage of the container reloading consumes most time and generates biggest costs.
