Opis:: The concept of Industry 4.0 associated with the increasing digitization of the entire production system is often described as the fourth industrial revolution. The fourth wave assumes a progressive digitization of the value chain in the industry and the development of the networks of contractors, machines, objects, processes and systems that exchange information immediately. These new realities, determine the need to adapt and enhance the qualifications of workers in industrial enterprises. It is natural to ask about the set of competences that will be significant from the perspective of the transition towards Industry 4.0. General purpose of this article is to try to answer this question. In the first part of the article the concept of Industry 4.0 is briefly described. Special attention was paid to the analysis of the network of thematic areas, in which the publications related to this topic are presented. The final part of the article deals with an analysis of the set of competences that will be needed while working in the realities of the fourth industrial revolution.

Opis:: The subject of project managers' competencies was very popular in scientific research over the past decades. A great number of academic researchers studied the field of project manager's competencies, its impact on project success and correlation to project performance and key characteristics of a project environment. The aim of this literature study was to analyze methodological aspects of aforementioned studies in order to identify research patterns applied, research instruments used, respondents' profiles and others. It's understandable that publications related to competencies of project managers can be found in leading project management journals. These articles constituted also a basis of the analysis. Furthermore, publications considered were narrowed to those focused on at least one of three appointed aspects, namely identification of competencies, their evaluation or relative importance assessment. Over a dozen of articles were obtained as the outcome of journals review. Key characteristics of selected studies were systematically analyzed and compared, including, among others, construction of the respondents group, examined subset of competencies and the approach adopted to identification and evaluation of competencies. As a result some patterns and repeatable elements were found. Moreover, two identified contentious practices were discussed - usage of a self-assessment to evaluate performance of respondent and usage of project success criteria aimed at assessing the performance of a project manager.

Opis:: The paper is oriented to professional and personality preparation of social pedagogues at TBU. In our paper, we will endeavour to elaborate a functional model of competences, which will be verified in practice and subsequent reflection on the professional preparation of social pedagogues at TBU in Zlin. We shall base upon the knowledge and observations contained in the current professional literature as well as working practices (ie praxis). Decision-making competences – on which our attention and activities are focused in this paper, are highly specific competences. The decision-making competence is not understood (by us) from the perspective of technical, economic, or social policies, but rather from the perspective of key competences – which are the load-bearing competences, and at the same time, include within themselves a dimension of other competences and these individual competences intermingle to various degrees as does their content.

Opis:: In this contribution, the authors present the outcomes of field research they conducted into gauging the success-rates of Social Pedagogy students in working practice. The authors set out the results of a questionnaire-based investigation, which served as the basis for further investigations into the development and monitoring of the skills, abilities and competences of social pedagogues in practice and in the preparation process for working in jobs in this field. In this research, the authors oriented themselves on monitoring basic skills, abilities and linguistic competence as well as their satisfaction with their theoretical and practical preparation in the course of their studies at this university. The second part of the research deals with the adaptability of graduates in the workplace. In the concluding part of this study, the authors suggest conclusions and possibilities for further investigations.

Opis:: This article is devoted to innovative learning technology, namely web quest, an effective learning tool that promotes the cognitive activity of applicants for higher medical educational institutions, focused on today’s challenges related to forming an independent, creative, competent personality. The main attention is paid to using quests in studying chemical disciplines in distance learning. The purpose of the study is to identify the main aspects of web quests’ effectiveness in the training of future medical professionals, revealing the main stages of the organisation. Specific examples of quests are also given from my own practical experience. An analysis of recent publications on this issue was carried out, and as a result, we argue that scientific sources do not sufficiently cover tuse of web quests in the study of chemical disciplines in higher medical education institutions, which is the impetus for the study. The article presents the stages of organising quests for students in the discipline “Medical Chemistry”, which include both the actual creation of a blog (initial, thematic, address, final), as well as the choice of topic, goals, tasks, division of responsibilities between participants and publication of results during distance learning (online conferences, videos, projects, booklets, commercials, prevention essays). It is presented an analysis of a survey of teachers and students on the effectiveness of the introduction of this technology in the training of future medical professionals. The analysis of the results shows that web quests meet modern requirements for implementing the educational process in medical and educational institutions and contribute to acquiring professional competence. Teachers and students who participated in the survey noted that web quests are an effective modern technology that promotes motivation, interest in the subject and chosen profession, and the formation of key competencies that must have a modern medical professional to be competitive. Specific examples of involving students in web quests on the subject of “Medical Chemistry” during research activities in the scientific section of Cherkasy Medical Academy.

Opis:: W artykule zaprezentowano rozważania dotyczące międzypokoleniowego projektu edukacyjno-badawczego pt. „Przywracanie Pamięci Miastu”. Projekt ten realizowany był przez Toruński Uniwersytet Trzeciego Wieku w partnerstwie z Wydziałem Nauk Pedagogicznych Uniwersytetu Mikołaja Kopernika w Toruniu w ramach programu „Patriotyzm Jutra”, który został ogłoszony przez Muzeum Historii Polski i sfinansowany przez Ministerstwo Kultury i Dziedzictwa Narodowego. Przedsięwzięcie to opierało się na koncepcji miejsc pamięci Pierre’a Nory i nowoczesnej wizji patriotyzmu, a w warstwie dydaktyczno-metodologicznej osadzone zostało w ramach badań w działaniu, co umożliwiło łączenie treści historycznych z pedagogiczną metodą ich nowoczesnego przekazu. W tekście ukazano cele i efekty projektu, a także opisano jego przebieg i podjęte w jego ramach działania.
The article presents reflections on the intergenerational educational-research project entitled “Restoring the Memory of the City”. This project was carried out by the University of the Third Age in Toruń in partnership with the Faculty of Education of the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń within the “Patriotism of Tomorrow” framework announced by the Polish History Museum and financed by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage. This project was based on Pierre Nora’s concept of memorial sites and modern vision of patriotism. In didactic-methodological layer it was embedded within the framework of action research, thereby allowing to combine historical contents with pedagogical method of their modern transfer. The text shows the objectives and results of the project. Also, it describes its course and activities undertaken throughout its duration.

Opis:: The article presents the concept of valence campaigning which is based on references to non-programmatic components of political image, such as competence and integrity. The analysis covers the premises for introducing references to these characteristics in the campaign derived from the strategic position of competing political parties. The empirical section contains the results of measurement of the frequency of these appeals in the pre-election rhetoric of parties participating in parliamentary campaigns in Poland between 2007 and 2019. The Comparative Campaign Dynamics Dataset was used for the study. The results show that the high frequency of arguments related to competence results primarily from the advantageous position of a party in the polls as well as its earlier participation in the government. Integrity is mainly emphasized by new parties and, unexpectedly, the ones involved in scandals in the past.
Artykuł niniejszy prezentuje koncepcję kampanii walencyjnej, czyli opartej na odwołaniach do pozaprogramowych elementów wizerunku, takich jak kompetencja i uczciwość. Analiza obejmuje przesłanki do wykorzystywania w kampanii odniesień do tych charakterystyk, wynikające z pozycji strategicznej ugrupowań. W części empirycznej zaprezentowano wyniki pomiaru częstotliwości tych odwołań w przedwyborczej retoryce aktorów uczestniczących w parlamentarnych kampaniach wyborczych w Polsce w latach 2007–2019. Wykorzystano do tego celu zbiór danych Comparative Campaign Dynamics Dataset. Wyniki wskazują, że wysoka częstotliwość argumentów związanych z kompetencją wynika przede wszystkim z korzystnej pozycji partii w sondażach oraz wcześniejszego udziału w rządach, a do uczciwości odwołują się przede wszystkim partie nowe oraz – wbrew oczekiwaniom – uwikłane w przeszłości w skandale.

Przedstawiono praktyki kształ‑ cenia oraz oceniono, w jakim zakresie odpowiadają one edukacji formalnej, kształceniu pozaformalnemu i wspierają uczenie się nieformalne. Wskazano na wyzwania, którym powinny sprostać instytucje kształcenia, jeśli chcą zapewnić wysoką jakość kompetencji dla rozwojowej i konkurencyjnej branży telekomunikacyjnej. Niniejszy artykuł powstał w wyniku prac badawczych nad projektem „Bilans kwalifikacji i kompetencji w wybranych sektorach”, realizowanym w Katedrze Rozwoju Kapitału Ludzkiego Szkoły Głównej Handlowej na zlecenie Instytutu Badań Edukacyjnych.
The article diagnoses learning capabilities for the telecommunications industry. It presents the key teaching entities supplying competences needed in the sector. The analysis included entities as: vocational education, highereducation, postgraduate education, industry associations, training institutions, suppliers of equipment and technologies, and the sector companies. There are presentations of training practices and the rating of the formal, non‑formal education and informal teaching characteristics. It also points out the challenges of teaching entities in how to supply high quality competences for developingand highly competitive telecommunications industry. The analysis stems fromresearch project: ‘Qualifications and Competence Balance in Selected Sectors’ carried out in the Depatment of Human Capital Development of Warsaw Schoolof Economics commissioned by Educational Research Institute.
В статье проведена диагностика формирования и развития формирования и развития компетенций для нужд телекоммуникационной отрасли. Представлены в ней ключевые субъекты, в которых формируются и развиваются компетенции необходимые отрасли. Анализом охвачены профессиональные школы, высшие учебные заведения, учреждения последипломного образования, отраслевые объединения, учреждения, организующие подготовительные курсы, поставщики оборудования и технологий, а также предприятия отрасли. Представлены формы обучения, а также определено, в какой степени они соответствуют формальному и внеформальному образованию, а также поддерживают неформальное обучение. Автор указывает на вызовы, стоящие перед учреждениями образования, чтобы обеспечить высокое качество компетенций для высокоперспективной и конкурентоспособной телекоммуникационной отрасли. Настоящая статья возникла в результате исследовательских работ, проведенных в рамках проекта „Баланс квалификаций и компетенций в выбранных секторах”, реализуемого на Кафедре развития человеческого капитала ВКШ по заказу Института исследований в области образования.
