Opis:: In the paper an approach to decision making in situations with non-pointlike characterisation and subjective evaluation of the actions is considered. The decision situation is represented mathematically as fuzzy multiobjective linear programming (fMOLP) model, where we apply the reduced fuzzy matrices instead of fuzzy classical numbers. The fMOLP model with reduced parameters is decomposable into the set of point-like models and the point-like models enable effective construction of an optimisation procedure - fBIP, see Wojewnik (2006ab), extending the bireference procedure by Michalowski and Szapiro (1992). The approach is applied to a fuzzy optimization problem in the area of telecommunication services.

Opis:: The paper discusses the impact of the decision-making profiles on the consistency of rankings obtained by three multiple criteria methods, i.e. DR, AHP and TOPSIS. The online decision making experiment was organized, based on an electronic questionnaire which is a hybrid of the internet survey system and the decision support system. The participants of the experiment were 418 students of Polish universities. To describe the decision-making profile, the REI test was used which allows to distinguish two decision-making styles: rational and intuitive. The Kendall rank correlation coefficient was used to test the consistency of the rankings obtained by the considered methods. Using different grouping methods, the relationship between the decision profile and the ability to express one’s preferences by means of these methods, that differ in cognitive requirements, was examined. The results of the research may be helpful for supporting the decision-maker in decision processes by choosing the method that fits their profile best.

Opis:: Improving product quality while making decisions remains a challenge. The objective of this research was to develop a model that supports the precise enhancement of product quality through comprehensive analysis of possibilities, product incompatibilities, root causes, and recommended improvement actions. The model incorporated various tools and methods such as the SMARTER method, expert team selection, brainstorming, Ishikawa diagram, 5M+E rule, FAHP, and FTOPSIS methods. The study demonstrated that integrating quality management tools and decision-making methods into a unified model enables the accurate prioritization of activities for product quality management. This integrated approach represents the novelty of this research. The model was evaluated using a mechanical seal made of 410 alloy. The research findings can be valuable to enterprises seeking to enhance product quality at any stage of production, particularly for modified or new products.

Opis:: Celem artykułu jest wskazanie zasadniczych składników procesów informacyjnych, poprzez które możliwe jest pozyskiwanie, gromadzenie i przetwarzanie oraz wykorzystanie informacji. Przez procesy informacyjne dokonują się różnorodne przeobrażenia społeczne, cywilizacyjne, kulturowe, polityczne i edukacyjne. Dynamiczny rozwój społeczeństwa informacyjnego stwarza potrzebę określenia wymagań jakościowych dla procesów informacyjnych oraz wskazania metod i kryteriów oceny poziomu jakości procesów informacyjnych. W pracy, po pierwsze, określono pojęcie informacji i wyróżniono kluczowe czynniki, które wpływają na jakość obserwacji obiektów otoczenia. Po drugie, na podstawie przeprowadzonej analizy literatury, wskazano na zależność między jakością procesu obserwacji a jakością procesu decyzyjnego. Określono informacyjny charakter powyższych procesów i ich wpływ na kształtowanie się zmian w otoczeniu. Zwrócono również uwagę na potrzebę wspomagania procesu obserwacji i procesu decyzyjnego. Zaprezentowany został system, który umożliwia wspomaganie procesów informacyjnych podczas kojarzenia się rynku pracy z systemem kształcenia.
The aim of the paper is to indicate the main aspects of the information processes and analyze the category of quality. To achieve the established aim the observation process and decision-making process were analyzed in terms of information aspects. First of all, the notion information was conceptualized and the factors which influence the observation quality were listed. Secondly, the observation process was defined and the quality of the observation process was indicated. Thirdly, the correlation between the observation process and the decision-making process was related. Then the decision-making process was defined. Finally the main aspects of the processes were distinguished and the issue of the quality was discussed. The career and educational counseling system was analyzed as the example which indicate the possibilities to support the observation and decision-making processes and increase the quality of the decisions.

Opis:: Introduction/background: This paper’s aim is to contribute to overcoming the limitations of existing policies intended to facilitate innovativeness. This article addresses the need for more tailored and targeted innovation support measures for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to help maximize their economic and societal impact. Aim of the paper: Specifically, the aim is to advance methodological frameworks for segmenting or selecting innovative SMEs by providing a conceptual proposition based on the innovation cycle at the firm level. Materials and methods: This objective is achieved by exploring the literature on the innovation cycle concept, and adapting the model developed by Abernathy and Utterback (the A–U model) for the purpose of innovation policy. Particular phases of the innovation cycle are transformed into variables and values, and based on the research regarding the behaviour of SMEs illustrative weights are assigned; this assignment depends on the preferred policy approach: either supporting innovativeness in and of itself or supporting innovativeness and an SME’s standing in the long run. Results and conclusions: As a result, the paper presents a tentative working procedure for assessing enterprises according to operationalized criteria derived from the A–U model. Added to this, collaborative efforts in developing innovations are briefly discussed from the innovation policy perspective. It is believed that the new conceptual proposition outlined in the paper will be instrumental in segmenting companies and selecting innovative projects, and will serve policy-makers and intervention organizations in the implementation phase of the innovation policy process, thus contributing to a more efficient and transparent allocation of support instruments by public institution.
