Opis:: The topic literature of the success in research and R&D projects, their success factors, or success criteria is not very extensive. Although a few items on this topic can be found, they often do not distinguish between types of projects in the research area between research projects and R&D projects. The aim of the paper is to present the success factors and success criteria of research and R&D projects and their importance for these types of projects. In order to achieve the aim of the study, the following research methods were used: a literature review and a survey analysis using correlations. The research was conducted on a sample of 200 organizations in Poland that run research and R&D projects. Based on the conducted quantitative research, the importance of individual success factors and success criteria of research projects and R&D projects was determined. The research results show that the importance of success factors and criteria for research and R&D projects varies.

Opis:: W artukle przedstawiono wyniki badań tarcia suchego występującego w procesie manipulowania strumienia ładunków jednostkowych (np. paczek pocztowych) transportowanych na przenośnikach taśmowych. Badania eksperymentalne prowadzone są na stanowisku, którego głównym elementem jest układ dwóch przeciwbieżnie napędzanych taśm. Na podstawie uzyskanych wyników badań zaproponowano nieliniową charakterystykę współczynnika tarcia modelowaną krzywą B-sklejaną trzeciego stopnia.
The paper deals with the examination of dry friction in the handling process of unit loads (e.g. postal parcels) transported on belt conveyors. The experimental tests are performed on the laboratory stand, whose the main element is a system of two inversely driven belts. On the basis of the analysis of results of experimental investigation the nonlinear friction coefficient defined by a B-spline curve of third degree was worked out.

Opis:: nologies research projects can be characterized by high level of risk and long-term horizon and they require significant capital expenditures, access to professional human resources and equipment. Due to the global financial crisis, the investors are unwilling to finance high risk research projects. Limited access to capital may slow down innovation research and restrain technological development. Thus, new technologies require innovative financing mechanisms to bridge the capital gap and continue research. The main aim of this paper is to identify the innovative financing mechanisms for new technologies based on the example of the biotechnology.

Opis:: Warsaw School of Computer Science has launched a multi-annual MOOC project “IT School” to prepare and open on-line a number of popular courses and other materials in the area of “basics of computer knowledge” for students of secondary level. The main objective of the project “IT School” is to popularize basic knowledge of computer technology, to encourage young people to study in the field of Information Technology and thus facilitate the study of the core courses. In the framework of Project twelve online courses was prepared and opened with particular care in preparing self-assessment tests, allowing students to check the level of understanding of the learning material after each course (http://www.it-szkola.edu.pl). The final test assesses student knowledge and its completion allows to receive a certificate. The education technology used for preparing the lectures is explained in this paper in details.

Opis:: The article aims to highlight the specific route of Czech oral history in comparison with developed countries, where oral history has been an age-old tradition. Czech oral history, same as oral history in other so called post-communist countries, did not experience that with oral history in 1960s and 1970s, oral history was totally unknown in the then Czechoslovakia (as well as in other countries of the so called socialist block). In the Czech Republic, oral history was used in the mid-1990s for the first time; but it took much more time before it stopped being ignored and criticized. Boom of oral history started in the end of 1990s, same like in South America or South Africa, and of course at the post-communist countries. An increased interest in oral history, however, also brings along some problems and risks related with this new trend. I will examine some cases of journalistic work which passes itself off as oral history and which is often ideologically motivated. Mastering the method and a good knowledge of the historical context are, in my opinion, essential requirements for a valid historical interpretation, and lack of these can be crucial.

Opis:: Precyzyjne pomiary kąta płaskiego znajdują zastosowanie m.in. w przemyśle samochodowym, lotniczym i robotyce, a także w kilku zastosowaniach naukowych (np. w pomiarze stałej grawitacji G i kątowej stabilizacji optycznych elementów rentgenowskich). W ramach projektu SIB 58 ANGLE opracowane zostały nowe systemy pomiarowe, urządzenia, nowe metody, zdobyto nową wiedzę i najlepsze praktyki, umożliwiające precyzyjne pomiary kąta płaskiego, zaspokajające rygorystyczne wymagania przemysłu. Zdolności pomiarowe GUM w dziedzinie kąta zostały udoskonalone.
Precise measurements of plane angle have application to automotive or aircraft industry and robotics as well as to several scientific researches (e.g. the measurement of the gravitational constant G and the angular stabilisation of X-ray optical components). In the frame of the project SIB 58 ANGLE new measuring systems, new equipment, new measuring methods were developed, new knowledge and best practices were obtained. It enables high precision angle measurements which meet rigorous industry requirements. The angle measurement capabilities of GUM were improved.
