Opis:: The study analyses the quantity and spatial structure of the seed bank of the xerothermic grassland located in the Biała Góra near Tomaszów Lubelski (Central Roztocze Region). The seed stock of the bank was compared with the vegetation found in two different patches of the examined grassland. The number of seeds per square meter was estimated at 5328 and 5355, depending on the patch. The seed bank's spatial organisation is clustered. The most important factors determining this spatial distribution are: remaining of the seeds in close vicinity of parent plants, and the "group" dispersal of the seeds and fruits.

The geographical space covers a diverse natural space, various potential of the socio-economic and cultural space, as well as active and passive relations that occur between their elements. One of the important parts of the socio-economic space is the spatial structure of industry whose fundamental element is an industrial enterprise.The theme of this discussion is the issue of the behaviour of an industrial enterprise in the spatial structure of industry in the light of Polish research in the field of industrial geography. Opis:: The Paper investigates the different aspects and possibilities of a dialogue with water in contemporary practice of urban recreation. The place and importance of the value of waterfront territories in complex nature-based solution for the future urban growth have yet to be understood and realized. Now the city is regarded as an open system and, at the same time, the array of its waterfront territories in contemporary urban planning is in the focus of developers. The trends and tendencies of architectural & landscape organization of the urban territories near water are revealed on the analysis of international project practice. This waterfront zones are shown as the most dynamic and claimed objects of planning practice, especially in dialogue with water, where the study of the relation: “the natural qualities of water – the naturally built environment - the psycho-emotional conditions of human beings” are passed over.

Opis:: A key driving force and determinant of a country’s worth in the globalized world is inherent in its level of industrialization. Certainly, other dimensions are crucial and come into play, however, the infamous classification of nations into industrialized and non-industrialized has added substantial merit to the concept. Essentially, industrialization in Ghana was based on the premise of the production and processing of its vast natural resources from traditionally primary products to tertiary and finished goods. While the industry can boast of employment generation and a model of economic growth in the 1960s and 1970s, inadequate implementation of industrial policies has resulted in the consistent contraction of the manufacturing subsector. Manufacturing sector contribution to GDP declined from 36.69% in 2000 to 6.7% in 2012 and therefore is considered the weakest link in Ghana’s industrial drive. This paper examines the growth, spatial structure, and distribution of manufacturing industries in the Greater Accra region using districts as the unit of analysis. The Greater Accra region has traditionally been the focal point of Ghana’s industrial development accounting for 23.4% of all manufacturing establishment as of 2015, most of which are concentrated in the Accra and Tema Metropolitan areas due to obvious political, socioeconomic and mobility factors. Examining historical data from 1962–2010, we found that despite the overwhelmingly large localization of manufacturing industries delete in Accra and Tema Metropolitan areas, a relative spatial redistribution of manufacturing industries was evident in the peripheral district of the region. Furthermore, the change in distribution is reflected in the pattern of employment at the district level, which per our findings shows a relative diffusion from the core districts of Accra to districts located in the peripheries. The study also found that industrial policies, such as free trade zone initiative, decentralization policies, foreign investment and improvements in critical infrastructure, have resulted in the relative spatial diffusion of manufacturing industries. These findings are significant because they show how areas without previous manufacturing base have witnessed the emergence of some form of industry.

Opis:: This article introduces the transformation process in functional and spatial structure in Ustka. The present spatial structure and land utilization in this town was influenced by numerous historical, cultural and natural conditions. The research shows that transformation processes and development trends observed in small holiday resorts located by the sea result from substituting former economic and service functions by tourist and service functions connected with providing tourist and health protection facilities in holiday and spa centers.
Opracowanie dotyczy przeobrażeń, jakie dokonały się w Ustce pod względem zagospodarowania przestrzeni miejskiej w okresie zmian systemowych. Zaznaczyć należy, że na obecny kształt struktury przestrzennej i kompozycję Ustki wpływ miało wiele uwarunkowań historyczno- kulturowych. Obecnie Ustka w swych granicach administracyjnych z 2004 r. zajmuje 1 011 ha. Miasto, które formalnie w 1935 r. otrzymało prawa miejskie, ma swoisty niepowtarzalny szkielet struktury utworzony przez podstawowe elementy ukształtowania i zagospodarowania terenu, które w jednoznaczny sposób ustaliły obecny obraz rozplanowania miasta. Z przeprowadzonych badań wynika, że strukturę przestrzenno-funkcjonalną Ustki podzielić można na sześć jednostek urbanistycznych. W dalszej części artykułu omówione zostały podstawowe funkcje poszczególnych jednostek urbanistycznych. Generalnie można przyjąć, że tempo zmian w strukturze użytkowania gruntów jest wypadkową działania zarówno warunków wewnętrznych, określających kierunki i przebieg tego procesu na konkretnym obszarze, jak i warunków zewnętrznych, wyznaczających zapotrzebowanie na określone rodzaje użytków miejskich (Rydz 1999). Badania, jakie prowadzono pozwalają stwierdzić, że w dziesięcioleciu (1994-2004) nastąpiły pewne zmiany w udziale poszczególnych typów użytkowania gruntów w przestrzeni miejskiej (tab. 3), np. dość wyraźnie zmniejszyły się tereny przemysłowe, które przeznaczone zostały pod zabudowę usługową lub mieszkaniową. Cechą charakterystyczną Ustki jest występowanie trzech dużych zgrupowań mieszkaniowych o zupełnie różnej genezie i charakterze.

W artykule przybliżono główne zasady funkcjonowania technologii oraz omówiono wykorzystywane w niej narzędzia. Przeanalizowano również trzy główne metody generowania modeli 3D z omówieniem ich potencjału dla ewaluacji koncepcji architektonicznej w odniesieniu do kontekstu urbanistycznego.
AR technology makes it possible to compare dynamic 3D models with a real-world physical context. The technology has been readily accessible to the wider public since 2015, thus constituting a new and dynamically developing field with significant-in the authors’ opinion-potential for all participants of the construction process. The article familiarises readers with the main principles of the technology’s operation and discusses the tools that it employs. Three main methods of generating 3D models were analysed and their potential for evaluating architectural conceptual proposals in reference to urban context was discussed.

Opis:: Umiejętność właściwego wykorzystania współczesnych osiągnięć techniki w zakresie światła wydaje się stosunkowo prosta. Jednakże w obszarach zabudowy miejskiej odczuwalny jest niejednokrotnie znaczny dyskomfort powodowany nieumiejętnym doborem oświetlenia do miejscowej specyfiki i lokalnych potrzeb. Istotne różnice w natężeniu oświetlenia, powodowane nieumiejętnym doborem oświetlenia podkreślającego miejscowe aspekty kreowania przestrzeni publicznej, doprowadzają miejscami do zatarcia granicy percepcji pomiędzy dniem i nocą, a z drugiej strony strefy mniej oświetlone stają się optyczną „czarną dziurą”. W artykule zwrócono uwagę na odpowiednio planowane i projektowane oświetlenie budynków, stref zamieszkania zbiorowego, ulic i innych elementów przestrzeni w aspekcie społecznym, w taki sposób, aby niezależnie od komfortu życia mieszkańców przeciwdziałać zjawisku zanieczyszczenia światłem.
The ability to make proper use of modern technical advancements in the field of lighting seems relatively simple. However, a large degree of discomfort is often experienced in urban built-up areas which is caused by the improper tailoring of lighting to local specifics and needs. Marked jumps in lighting intensity, caused by the improper selection of lighting, that underline the local aspects of shaping public spaces, at times leading to a blurring of the borders of perception between night and day on the one hand, and zones that are less illuminated become an optical “black hole” on the other. The paper is focused on the proper planning and design of the illumination of buildings, multi-family residential zones, streets and other elements of space taking into account their social aspect, in a manner which allows light pollution to be prevented regardless of the residents’ quality of life.

Opis:: At present fish processing industry is one of the most dynamically developing groups belonging to food industry in Poland. In the last ten years the sold production of fish processing industry increased over three times. Fish processing companies reveal a great ability to adapt to turbulently changing conditions of the market game. It happens this way, among others, as a result of creating competitiveness by widely understood consolidation processes and creating strong organizational and spatial ties of an international range. At the same time European market of fish processing guaranteed not only economic standards for already existing companies, but also became an impulse for creating new production units offering their products and services in the European Union market. The article attempts to determine the weight of factors and advantages of location for fish processing industry in Poland and their influence on the changes in the spatial structure. Besides the changes in distribution, the food processing companies in Poland were also characterized taking into consideration their concentrationin view of the theory of cluster.
