Opis:: The goal of this study was to establish technical and tactical performance goals for elite male volleyball players (Spanish first division). This paper is the result of scientific collaboration between volleyball coaches and researchers. The process of establishing the goals and the reference values of the performance goals was: 1) conceptual analysis, establishing the criteria for the analysis of players’ and teams’ performance (researchers and coaches); 2) mathematical analysis, data collection and data analysis of the possible performance goals; and 3) practical analysis, establishing the performance goals according to their usefulness and applicability following the SMART principle. Seven performance goals were established to evaluate the technical-tactical actions of the players in training and in competition. Protocols utilized can be used as references of how to calculate the technical and tactical performance goals in sport.

Opis:: W artykule tym przedstawiony jest krótki rys historyczny rozwoju statystyki. W szczególności wyjaśniony jest rodowód słowa statystyka. Na tle ogólnego rozwoju przedstawione zostały warunki społeczno-polityczne w jakich powstawała statystyka polska. Pobieżnie omówiono prace dotyczące statystyki, jakie ukazały się w zwartej postaci w XIX wieku. Organizacja statystyki publicznej i literatura na ten temat, jako osobna problematyka, w artykule tym nie jest omawiana. Dokonano zaś krótkiej analizy krytycznej istniejącego polskiego piśmiennictwa na temat rozwoju myśli statystycznej w Polsce.
This paper presents a short overview of the history of statistics in Poland. The most significant books published during XIX century are briefly described. Organization and publications concerning the official statistics are beyond the scope of this paper. A critical description of the existing polish literature concerning the history of statistics is also included into this paper.

Opis:: In the paper, the author outlines the subject of crime among foreigners of Vietnamese origin in Poland. The Vietnamese residing in Poland were characterised as an introduction. Subsequent waves of immigration, their causes, problems of integration with the society, feeling of dissimilarity, and general features of this minority were analysed. Basic statistical data regarding the size of this group, regulations regarding the legality of their stay, and other important information were presented. Work performed in Poland, carrying out business activities, and everyday life were taken into account. In the second part of the paper, crime among the citizens of Vietnamese origin was analysed. The analysis was based mostly on figures extracted from police, penitentiary, and judicial statistics. Data on the number of persons of Vietnamese nationality in prisons and detention centres, the amount of crime related to irregular crossing of an external border, and other data characterising criminal behaviours of this group were presented. Moreover, examples of illegal activities including areas particularly at risk were given. The author emphasised that the Vietnamese are suspected of illegal crossing of external borders, smuggling, drug offences, and unlawful acts related to the widely understood commerce. A statistic regarding the Vietnamese convicted by a final court judgement in 2014 in view of the full extent of crime was demonstrated. In this case, penalties and penal measures ordered by the Polish judicial system and the categorisation of offences compliant with the legislation in effect. To conclude, the crime dynamics in Poland in 2003–2005 was presented.

Opis:: In recent years Poland has been undergoing rapid socio-cultural changes. Along with these changes one can observe a systematic decline in the importance of religious life. This leads to reflection on the direction and depth of transformations, and consequently on the place of religion in the life of future generations. The study attempts to statistically present the religious situation of the inhabitants of Cieszyn Silesia. This is a very specific region mainly due to the diversity of confessions. Historical conditions, as well as the current religious structure make this subject difficult to study, but at the same time very interesting. For a more complete picture, the data from the beginning of the 20th century, as well as from the present day, were used.

Opis:: The aquifer system of the Remila plain (Khenchela, Algeria), covering 250 km2, is one of the semiarid regions where groundwater is heavily exploited for urban supply and irrigation. An integrated hydrochemical and statistical analysis was performed on 70 water samples to identify the main processes and the origin of salinisation of our waters. Chemical analyses indicate salinity values (TDS) ranging from 568 to 1586 mg·dm-3 with an average of 869 mg·dm-3, with sulphate being the dominant ions, especially in the north and northeastern parts of the region. The identified chemical facies are SO4-Cl-Ca in the northeastern part, SO4-Cl-Ca-Mg present in most waters, and HCO3-Ca-Mg in the southeastern part. We applied the statistical approach to group the waters into three categories using Principal Component Analysis (PCA) and Hierarchical Clustering Analysis (HCA); 1) saline waters (23%) (TDS > 1000 mg·dm-3 and SO42-dominance), 2) moderately saline waters (51%) with HCO3- dominance, 3) moderately saline waters (26%) with a mixed facies. The binary ion diagrams used suggest that the main hydrochemical processes are: evaporites dissolution and/or precipitation, accompanied by an exchange and/or reverse exchange of ions. Additionally, another process was detected in the northeastern part of the area; the saline intrusion of Sabkha waters, favoured by intensive aquifer exploitation.

Opis:: Introduction. Breast cancer is the second most prevalent reason for cancer deaths after lung cancer. Incidence rates have increased worldwide. Aim. To present epidemiology of breast cancer in Podkapackie voivodship. Material and methods. This analysis was performed using a systematic literature search. Results. In the Podkarpackie voivodship up until 2014, the incidence rate of female breast cancer was rising and in 2015 it dropped by 68 cases. Even though the survival rate is increasing, it is still one of the leading causes of cancer deaths placing second after lung cancer. Conclusion. Mortality rate, unfortunately, rose gradually. This shows that even though there is a National Health Program aiming at breast cancer awareness and prevention, it is still not enough to reduce the number of breast cancer deaths.

Opis:: A general dependence of the enzyme catalytic rate on its mass was revealed when a statistical analysis of 17065 records from the EMP database was performed. The estimated activation energy of the catalytic process decreases asymptotically with the enzyme molecular mass increase. The proposed theoretical model postulates the existence of an intermediate complex of the enzyme and the departing product. It allows for the explanation of the discovered mass-energy relationship, as an effect of the global enzyme-product interactions during complex dissociation. Fitted parameters of the model seem to be in agreement with those widely accepted for the van der Waals energy of molecular interactions. Their values also agree with the picture of the hydrogen bonding in the catalytic process and suggest that surface walk can be the favorable way of the product departure.
