Opis:: Za cel artykułu przyjęto usystematyzowanie wiedzy z zakresu rozumienia pojęcia technologii oraz przybliżenie procesu zarządzania technologią. Zwrócono uwagę na współczesne, systemowe ujęcie technologii oraz dokonano identyfikacji komponentów systemu technologicznego. Szczególną uwagę zwrócono także na jedno ze współczesnych narzędzi wspomagających działania w zakresie zarządzania technologią, jakim jest foresight technologiczny. W artykule wyodrębniono również wspólne płaszczyzny procesu zarządzania technologią oraz badań foresightu technologicznego.
The aim of the article was to systematize the knowledge that is concerned with understanding the concept of technology and is a closer look at the process of technology management. Special attention was drawn to contemporary systemic perspective on technology and technological components of the technology system. The author also drew particular attention to one of the tools supporting activities with in technology management, which is called technological foresight. In this paper, there have been also identified common layers of the process of technology management and technology foresight research.

Opis:: This paper deals with using information communication technology at different levels of English courses in A. Yassawi International Kazakh-Turkish University, Kazakhstan. The use of information communication technology enables students to expand their language study. Students expressed their positive opinions about the benefits of using information communication technology. Realizing the value of the students’ positive opinion about using the information communication technologies in the learning process, conditions should be created for them to have the chance to broadly use them in modern education. This study explored how social networking technology can be used to supplement face-to-face courses as a means of enhancing students’ sense of community. Data was collected from 102 students of engineering and pedagogical faculty who enrolled in these courses. Findings indicated that the majority of participants developed strong feelings of social connectedness and expressed favorable feelings regarding their learning experiences in the classes where social networking sites were used as a supplementary tool. Learner difficulties and concerns of instructors about the educational use of social media are addressed with recommendations for future research and practice.

Opis:: This polemic discusses two problematic aspects to the claim of a paradigmatic shift to the new technology-centered symbolic universe, as understood by Peter Berger and Thomas Luckmann. The first problematic aspect is connected to the status quo ante transhumanism (before the postulated paradigmatic shift). By discussing cases from pre-modernity and peak modernity, I point out that the discussed claim does not provide satisfactory understanding of the role of technology in society. My counter-argument is built on cases of technoreligious institutions such as abbeys and rocketry research theoretical circles, using works by David Noble as the starting point. The second problematic aspect goes back to the fundamentals of Berger and Luckmann’s concept and its relation to ontology. The discussed proposal mixed this framework with the concept of culture from the Margaret Archer system, which led to a shift in ontological positioning. In effect, some preliminaries about the materiality and dynamics of Berger-Luckmann dialectics are harder to trace in the proposal. This results in problems of operationalization and loss of useful theoretical dialogue with post-constructivist tradition. In the last part of the paper, I sketch other possibilities and challenges for post Berger-Luckman applications in the case of transhumanism and late modernity.

Dużo informacji poświęcono charakterystyce typów technologii pedagogicznych, ich funkcji, właściwości oraz inności, które polegają na orientowaniu na teorię i różne koncepcje. Analiza literatury w danym aspekcie pozwoliła na syntetyzowanie zasad teoretycznych technologii pedagogicznej, w szczególności: kierunki i nurty filozoficzne w edukacji, teorie psychologiczno-pedagogiczne, koncepcje i zasady naukowe oraz czynniki, które określone są właściwościami organizacji i treści rządzenia socjalno-funkcjonalnego.
Since the 1960s, researchers all over the world have discussed problems of education technology. This article discusses the theoretical background of pedagogical technology, which is a vital tool in enhancing the quality of pedagogical intervention. A lot of information concerns the typology of pedagogical technologies, their functions and distinctive features that emerge from the discrepancies in the particular conceptions and their theoretical backgrounds. Our analysis allows a synthetic presentation of the theoretical principles of education technology, with special emphasis on the following aspects: philosophical ideas and currents in education, psychological and pedagogical theories, scientific conceptions and principles behind social functionalist organizational structures and management.

Opis:: Celem artykułu jest omówienie roli uniwersytetu technologicznego w rozwoju systemu technologicznego. Rozwój gospodarki to nieustanny proces doskonalenia technologii: od prostych technik wytwarzania po zaawansowane systemy produkcji. Gdy dawniej były one dziełem pojedynczych ludzi lub podmiotów gospodarczych, współcześnie stanowią efekt działania sieci technologicznych, przyjmując postać systemów technologicznych. Wyróżnia się sekwencyjne i interakcyjne systemy technologiczne. Pierwsze - to maszyny i urządzenia techniczne, drugie - to struktury sieciowe opierające się na ludzkich interakcjach. W pierwszych mamy do czynienia z sekwencją działań (każda operacja poprzedza kolejną, a awaria jednego elementu blokuje cały system, np. urządzenia oczyszczające z zanieczyszczeń wodę). W drugich współpracują ze sobą autonomiczne podmioty i instytucje zajmujące się kreowaniem, transferem i wdrażaniem nowych technologii.
The paper aims to discuss the role of the technological university in the development of the technology system. Economic development involves constant striving for perfection in technology: from simple manufacturing techniques to advanced production systems. In the past they were made by individuals or enterprises wheras in the modern world they are produced by technology networks and take the form of technology systems. Technology systems can be sequential or interactive. The former include machines and technical equipment whereas the latter consist of interaction-based network structures. The former involve a sequence of actions (each operation precedes another, and a failure of one element obstructs the entire system as in, e.g., water purification devices). The latter involve co-operation between autonomous entities and institutions which develop, transfer and implement new technologies.

Opis:: Shanken omawia projekt zrealizowany pod egidą Art & Technology, będący efektem współpracy artysty z inżynierem. Pisze o wczesnych kontrowersjach związanych z rozróżnieniem między A&T a sztuką konceptualną oraz analizuje podobieństwa i różnice między nimi. Shanken argumentuje, że sztuka konceptualna stara się raczej analizować koncepcje i idee leżące u podstaw tworzenia i odbioru sztuki, podczas gdy A&T koncentruje się na koncepcjach nauki i technologii, które można wykorzystać do tworzenia nowych form wizualnych i modeli estetycznych. Trudniej jest jednak stwierdzić, do którego nurtu należą poszczególni artyści. Debaty na ten temat odzwierciedlają sytuację sztuki nowoczesnej na Zachodzie i jej nierozerwalny związek z rozwojem technologii, nauki i cybernetyki, które leżały u podstaw głównych modeli intelektualnych sztuki XX w. Shanken omawia główną wystawę A&T, Software, oraz jej manifest artystyczny sformułowany w katalogu wystawy.
Shanken discusses the project produced under the aegis of Art & Technology, the result of artist-engineer collaboration. He writes about the early controversies surrounding a differentiation between A&T and conceptual art, and analyses similarities and differences between the two. Shanken argues that conceptual art rather seeks to analyse the concepts and ideas underlying the creation and reception of art whereas A&T focuses its inquiry on the concepts of science and technology that can be used in order to create new visual forms and aesthetic models. But it happens to be more difficult to say which trend individual artists belong to. Debates on the matter reflect the situation of modern art in the West and its inseparable relationship with the development of technology, science and cybernetics, which underlay the major intellectual models of 20th century art. Shanken discusses A&T’s major exhibition, Software, and its art manifesto formulated in the exhibition catalogue.

Opis:: The rapid technical developments and the actual discussion about Industry 4.0 demonstrates the need for more effective and efficient technologies to be able to handle upcoming business demands. Those technologies have not just to cover data production, transmission, and integration, but especially increased heterogeneous handling requirements of potential user groups, e.g. employees on the shop floor. Such a technology might be smart data glasses and as an instanciation of this class Google’s product Glass. Especially top management representatives or managers still recognise a certain potential of the device. Based on developed applications, a simultaneous transmission of data is possible. The BMW Manufacturing Co. announced that it developed an app improving the quality especially of videos. This software allows a loop of two minutes (in the background) so that the appearance of errors or certain issues can better be identified without searching within a video. Besides, the data glasses synchronise itself with a smartphone so the data are available decentr.
Szybkie postępy techniczne i faktyczna dyskusja na temat sektora 4.0 pokazują potrzebę bardziej efektywnych i wydajnych technologii, aby móc obsłużyć przyszłe wymagania biznesowe. Technologie te nie tylko obejmują produkcję, transmisję i integrację danych, lecz przede wszystkim zwiększone heterogeniczne wymagania dotyczące obsługi potencjalnych grup użytkowników. Taką technologią mogą być inteligentne okulary pozwalające na analizę danych, jak np. produkt Google Glass. Z analizy wynika, że najwyżsi przedstawiciele kierownictwa i menedżerowie rozpoznają potencjał urządzenia. Podczas wykorzystywania rozwiniętych aplikacji możliwy jest przy jego użyciu symultaniczny przesył danych. Firma BMW Manufacturing Co. ogłosiła, że opracowała aplikację poprawiającą jakość tego przesyłu, zwłaszcza w przypadku filmów wideo. To oprogramowanie umożliwia pętlę dwóch minut (w tle), dzięki czemu można lepiej zidentyfikować pojawienie się błędów lub niektórych problemów bez wyszukiwania w obrębie filmu wideo. Poza tym omawiane okulary synchronizują się ze smartfonem, dzięki czemu są na nim dostępne przetwarzane dane.
