Opis:
This paper presents the study and implementation of a new vector control strategy using a hybrid control technique applied to the mechanical position loop aiming to obtain a system that acts in the fractional horsepower motor driver running at near zero frequency. For this purpose, some control techniques are employed to check which one has the best performance regarding this type of application. The use of three control techniques is considered: the Proportional-Integral-Derivative (PID) controller with fixed gain; the Generalized Predictive Control (GPC) controller; and a hybrid controller. The last one behaves as both PID and GPC using fuzzy logic in order to achieve improved system performance. Simulation and experimental results are shown and discussed to demonstrate the merits of the proposed approach.

Opis:
The paper presents research findings in the modelling and optimization of dynamic parameters of mechatronic systems with an induction motor. A mathematical model was developed to analyze currents in dynamic states of squirrel-cage rotors in the case of a line-to-line fault. The findings were verified experimentally using calculations for a 1.5 kW three-phase induction motor. The equations for a stationary 0x, 0y coordinate system relating to the stator were derived. The set of design variables selected in the optimization process contained parameters describing design features of the gear shafts and control units settings.

Opis:
Position tracking systems for AC drives offering high robustness to external load torques have been presented. A triple-loop cascade control structure was employed where the inner loop is a stator current control loop and the middle loop is a speed control loop based on the forced dynamic control and respecting vector control principles. Two alternative outer position control loop designs both of which respect prescribed dynamics and settling time of position have been developed. The former system prescribes also time constant of the speed control loop while the latter one respects time constant of speed control system developed independently. To enhance the tracking abilities of both control systems the dynamic lag pre-compensator has been included. Case studies of the both position control systems for time near-optimal control and energy near-optimal control have been presented. The tracking performances of the designed control systems were assessed based on comparisons of the experimental responses with the simulated responses of the ideal closed-loop system.

Opis:
This paper presents some design approaches to hybrid control systems combining conventional control techniques with fuzzy logic and neural networks. Such a mixed implementation leads to a more effective control design with improved system performance and robustness. While conventional control allows different design objectives such as steady state and transient characteristics of the closed loop system to be specified, fuzzy logic and neural networks are integrated to overcome the problems with uncertainties in the plant parameters and structure encountered in the classical model-based design. Induction motors are characterised by complex, highly non-linear and time-varying dynamics and inaccessibility of some states and outputs for measurements, and hence can be considered as a challenging engineering problem. The advent of vector control techniques has partially solved induction motor control problems, because they are sensitive to drive parameter variations and performance may deteriorate if conventional controllers are used. Fuzzy logic and neural network-based controllers are considered as potential candidates for such an application. Three control approaches are developed and applied to adjust the speed of the drive system. The first control design combines the variable structure theory with the fuzzy logic concept. In the second approach neural networks are used in an internal model control structure. Finally, a fuzzy state feedback controller is developed based on the pole placement technique. A simulation study of these methods is presented. The effectiveness of these controllers is demonstrated for different operating conditions of the drive system.

Opis:
The epidemiological and epizootic importance of ticks has been known for a few decades since of the discovery of their role as vectors of many new diseases, and the better detection of those already known. Given the durability of chemical preparations in the environment and the increasing problem of developing tick resistance, natural strategies for biological control are sought. A promising alternative to chemical pesticides is the use of entomopathogenic organisms for effective integrated pest management of low environmental impact. A number of promising microbes have been identified during the search for effective means of controlling the tick population, but the knowledge about the impact of these pathogens on the environment and other non-target organisms is still insufficient. Previous research has still not provided a definite answer about the safety of their use. It is known, however, that the chemicals which are currently used have a negative impact on the environment and/or cause resistance. No efficient biocompound has yet been devised for commercial use. Potential microorganisms for tick biocontrol (mainly bacteria and fungi) are natural tick pathogens, living in the same environment. With their adhesive properties, and their ability to digest the cuticle, they may constitute an appropriate ingredient of bioacaricides. Until now, fungal insecticides have been used only to control crop pests.

Opis:
Three-leg active power filter topology is the cost effective solution implementing a four-wire active power filter but it has some disadvantages compared to four-leg topology. The lack of a neutral wire filter inductor results in larger filter losses and therefore the efficiency of the topology is impaired. The neutral wire filter inductor is typically used with the four-leg four-wire active power filter topology and significantly reduces switching frequency current ripple. In this paper the suitability of a neutral wire filter inductor for the three-leg topology is studied. The performance of three-leg topology with a neutral wire filter inductor is studied through computer simulations and laboratory tests. The results indicate that the use of the neutral wire filter inductor clearly improves the performance of three-leg topology.

Opis:
This article aims to implement the fuzzy control for an asynchronous motor after a general representation of the vector control. We develop MAMDANI type fuzzy algorithm for MAS speed regulation; it’s one purpose is to cancel static error, decrease overshoot, decrease response time, and rise time to obtain an adequate response of the process and regulation and to have a precise, fast, stable and robust system. This paper investigates the design of a fuzzy-based approach for monitoring the inversion of the rotational speed of an induction motor. We will indeed present a robust vector control technique ex-tended to blur in the event of a fault. Direct torque control is known to produce fast and robust response in the AC drive system. However, in a steady state, a rapid and unexpected change in speed can occur which could be dangerous. The performance of the conventional PID controller can be improved by implementing fuzzy logic techniques. The first step is the modelling of the whole system, including the capacitors, the induction generator and the loads. The model is obtained using the Park transformation. The results are thus compared with those of the standard PID control. This approach is applied to a three-phase asynchronous motor (LS90Lz). The presented study improves the transient response time and the precision of the servo system. An inversion of the reference speed of rotation is considered, and the results are very convincing.
