Opis:
With advances of artificial intelligence (AI), there is a growing need for provisioning of transparency and accountability to AI systems. These properties can be achieved with eXplainable AI (XAI) methods, extensively developed over the last few years with relation for machine learning (ML) models. However, the practical usage of XAI is limited nowadays in most of the cases to the feature engineering phase of the data mining (DM) process. We argue that explainability as a property of a system should be used along with other quality metrics such as accuracy, precision, recall in order to deliver better AI models. In this paper we present a method that allows for weighted ML model stacking and demonstrates its practical use in an illustrative example.

Opis:
The theory of games usually concentrates attention in the market dynamical analysis on finding an the equilibrium and on the optimization behavior of sellers. It should be mentioned that for the application of the developed results. It is very important to know that the equilibrium doesn’t only exists but also can be reached by market participants. By this reason the above approach was criticized by some researchers. (For example the Austrian market process theory (Mises[21], Hayek[12] and Kirzner[18]) and the orthodox neoclassical theory (Marshall, Robinson, Chamberlin and Walras)). The problem of the equilibrium stability has been discussed in our papers earlier [7 and 8]. We have proposed to consider the problem of the attainability of the market equilibrium as an asymptotic stability task with some specially constructed iterations procedures. The result of its analysis was the theorem of the sufficient condition of the competition at the market for enterpreneurs (33). We try to renew the mentioned approach in this paper. It will be found the conditions of the local stability of the equilibrium in cases, when compete two and more products.

Opis:
The aim of our paper is to present the new results of research work on optmizaton and simulaton for some logistc problems in the company. The System Dynamics (SD) method and the Vensim simulaton language are applied in order to solve specifc managerial problems described by Forrester in the model of supply chain. The historical model of Customer-Producer-Employment System by Forrester (Forrester, 1961) has not been examined with the sensitvity analysis, from the “automatc” testng perspectve. Optmizaton experiments have not been conducted, either. It is surprising, since the model is old and widely known. The opportunites offered by the Vensim language allow us to perform such analysis. The visualizaton called “confdence bounds“ is used, to show the behaviour of chosen variables over a period of tme. The Monte-Carlo method is applied for sampling a set of numbers from within bounded domains (distributon for each searching parameters is specifed). The authors of this paper conducted numerous experiments in this scope. This paper presents their results and offers some conclusions formulated at the end.

Optimization of extraction conditions and cytotoxic activity of rapanone in comparison to its homologue, embelin

Opis:
Rapanone is a plant-derived simple alkyl-dihydroxybenzoquinone structurally close to embelin, a well-known cytotoxic agent. The pharmacological characterization of rapanone is still incomplete, and to fill the data gap, a good source for its acquisition is required to conduct further research. This study aimed to optimize the conditions for the extraction of rapanone from the leaves of white-berried Ardisia crenata Sims. For this purpose, three methods were employed: heat reflux (HRE), shaking (SE), and ultrasound-assisted extraction (UAE), and such parameters as the extraction time, solvent, and the number of extractions from the same sample were set as experimental variables. Furthermore, cytotoxic activity toward prostate cancer, thyroid cancer, and colorectal carcinoma cell lines was investigated and compared with doxorubicin and embelin. The most effective and economical method for the extraction of rapanone was shown to be 20 min UAE with ethyl acetate or chloroform. Rapanone exhibited high cytotoxic activity against PC3 (IC50 = 6.50 μg/mL), Du145 (IC50 = 7.68 μg/mL), FTC133 (IC50 = 6.01 μg/mL), 8505C (IC50 = 7.84 μg/mL), and Caco-2 (IC50 = 8.79 μg/mL) cell lines after 24 h and against the HT29 cell line after 48 h (IC50 = 11.67 μg/mL). Furthermore, it revealed a more favorable safety profile than either its homologue, embelin, or doxorubicin. The set of optimal extraction parameters obtained may be utilized for scientific and industrial purposes to achieve the best rapanone yield. Moreover, this benzoquinone revealed a high cytotoxic activity with good selectivity.

Opis:
A theory of financial instability, positively verified through adverse consequences of the global financial crisis that started in 2007, demonstrates the significance put on adequate decision making in present age. Thus, optimization of operations in this respect applies to providing suitable frameworks for supervision and functioning of financial markets which may be more predictable and secure for individual stakeholders.
