Opis:
In the information society, the existing traditional ways of communication are changing, often in favour of digital forms. What is also transformed are the forms of teaching and educating, which are substituted by distance education with the use of networks of various types. The study focuses on the theoretical and practical determinants of network functioning. In this study, some e-challenges are analysed in the context of new prospects of the informational-educational space based on the global network of Internet. The definitions are presented as well as some exemplary types of network. Moreover, the collaboration and self-training network, and its aims are focused on. Two cases are provided as examples – the Internet platform “Doskonalenie w sieci /Improvement in the Net/” and the international research network IRNet, in the activity of which the authors of the presented article take active part.

New approaches to developing the global skills and intercultural competence of future teachers : (virtual exchange and blended intensive programs as possibilities for future research and higher-education internationalization)
Autorzy:
Slatinská, Anna
Opis:
In a dynamic world, pedagogically oriented universities which are educating future teachers for different types of schools (elementary, middle, high schools) must also adapt and be flexible to the fast-changing environment: cultural, social, religious, political, economic, etc. A new scientific discussion is therefore needed in order to reevaluate the methodologies and ways of collecting data in tertiary education in line with the internationalization of teacher training university education. In the current context of global unrest and uncertainty, it seems inevitable to leverage the potential of current generation of young people – the future teachers in our case and prepare experiential opportunities for them in order to support their global skills (critical thinking, creativity, communication and collaboration, self-regulation and wellbeing, digital literacies, etc.) and intercultural awareness together with soft skills. The aim of the contribution is to reflect on two virtual exchange programs (VEPs) and one blended intensive program (BIP) which were released at Matej Bel University and subsequent methodology that academics in charge used in order to collect and evaluate data from their projects. Multidisciplinary research is a challenging endeavor in pedagogically oriented disciplines, however, it can bring sustainability to initial teacher training. Virtual exchange programs (VEPs) require the teacher/researcher to apply new or modified approaches and gain knowledge which spans multiple research areas.

Opis:
The objective of this paper was to invent a digital technology, that could be used in a simple way in online conducting classes, throughout specialized education of students at universities. Transition to remote teaching due to Covid-19 pandemic has highlighted the gap in this field. This article presents a concept of using a specialised software, that is mapping in a 3D space and analysing the movement of human body in real time. The software combines two images provided by the cameras installed in a smartphone and a computer. Common presence of laptops and smartphones in human life makes it possible to omit the costs of buying specialised equipment. The technology was researched with professors and students involved, to verify: software stability, level of detail in the rendered movements of the virtual conductor after mapping the professors, understandability of the commands given to the students, students’ performance in the tasks and the threshold above which the software was recognising moves of an individual as correct. Described software is constantly being developed and adapted to meet the needs of a new user, which may give future opportunities to use it also for other educational or non-educational purposes.

Opis:
This work describes the teaching of the subject “Systems Interconnection” taught in the Higher School of Telecommunications Engineering of the University of Extremadura, Spain. As soon as students finish the course, they will acquire all the theoretical and practical contents that are taught in the subject, which are detailed in different sections of the subject. In addition, a summary is made of the teaching methodology used and learning results. Finally, the article concludes by detailing the evaluation methodology and, above all, the academic results of the previous courses, where an improvement in results is observed, especially in the percentage of students that have passed all the exams of the subject (approved students onwards), namely by reducing the sum of percentages of those that have not changed their results or have failed the subject’s exams. This improvement has been achieved based on the introduction of continuous assessment in the theoretical section of the subject. In short, it is a descriptive study of the current situation of the subject of “Systems Interconnection.”

Training future describers : a practice report from an audio description classroom.
Autorzy:
Jankowska, Anna
Opis:
Over the past few years, we have been observing an exponential growth in audio description (AD). This has resulted in a growing need for trained AD professionals and, consequently, for AD training. While the ADLAB PRO project helped define the professional profile of the audio describer and produced a range of training materials, there is still considerable room for other AD training approaches to be shared with a view to inspiring AD trainers when creating their courses . Thus, this practice report presents selected exercises that I have been developing since 2009, when I first started teaching AD both at university and outside academia (e.g., during dedicated courses for broadcasters, NGOs and cultural institutions), presenting their learning outcomes and framing them within the ADLAB PRO framework of competencies for professional audio describers. All the activities offered in this article are based on my professional experience as an academic teacher and researcher and also as a professional describer and accessibility manager who oversees the entire AD production process: from negotiating with clients through production (scripting, proofs, recording, quality control) to product delivery and onsite assistance.
