Opis:: Given the discrepancy between the views of economists on the definition of the concept of competitiveness, competitiveness of the enterprise, its efficiency and stability are identified by a multidirectional influence of a plurality of factors it is determined. The work the factors of influence on the level of competitiveness of the enterprise, namely the factors of the external and internal environment is summarized. Accounting for these factors is necessary in the process of managerial decisions making on competitive advantages managing in order to increase the level of competitiveness. Fundamental stages of the assessment and management of the enterprise competitiveness is considered. With the help of method of analysis of the hierarchy the directions of raising the competitiveness level on the example of the enterprise LLC "Ukragrozapchastyna" is determines. The most priority directions of competitiveness increase according to the research are the introduction of a direction of activity that would overcome the seasonality of the industry, the transition to process management, changes in organizational structure.

Opis:: The aim of the paper is to rank sixteen Polish regions (voivodeships) according to their competitive position and show differences and regional contrasts in comparison to EU member states. The paper begins with a general overview of the concept of competitiveness. The second section examines the ways of measuring regional competitiveness. One of applied indicators is Regional Competitiveness Index (RCI) which aims to identify the strengths and weaknesses of each of the EU NUTS 2 regions. Next, the author looks at selected aspects of the competitiveness of Polish regions. The starting point for this analysis is a comparative assessment of the competitiveness of all regions in the EU.

Opis:: This article looks at the problem of measuring economic competitiveness of countries. It begins with describing various definitions of this phenomenon which are sometimes quite vague and close to tautology. The indicators of competitiveness which are most commonly used lack theoretical background, while the results depend on arbitrary choice of variables used for their construction. The author makes a proposal of an alternative way of measuring the competitiveness which is simple and well rooted in the theory. However, given the complexity of the problem, the proposed measurement does not solve all the problems. Its results allow for making the assessment of the development model of Poland and, in particular, formulating a hypothesis that Poland is underperforming in the field of the competitiveness given its level of economic and institutional development.

Opis:: The article presents the operationalization and competitiveness measurement in online business companies. To determine the level of competitiveness synthetic measure of competitiveness has been developed. Three-dimensional concept of competitiveness has been applied to calculate the synthetic measure of competitiveness. The measurement has been conducted referring to three main levels: competitive position, competitive potential and instruments of competitiveness. On the basis of the calculated measure, companies was grouped into six groups: the best, very good, good, average, poor, very poor, the worst. It should be emphasized that the results are restricted due to limited representativeness of the sample.

Opis:: Competitiveness is a key factor determining the development of a region and hence the standard of living of its inhabitants, and human capital is one of the most important factors enabling improvement of regional competitiveness. The aim of the presented research is to analyse the spatial differentiation of the level of human capital in the regions of the European Union (EU) in relation to their level of competitiveness. The results show significant disproportions in this respect, especially between the so-called old and new EU. The higher levels of human capital in the old EU regions were also generally accompanied by a higher level of competitiveness. In the long run, this will lead to an increase in regional disparities in development.

Opis:: This paper analyses the competitiveness of fruit and vegetable producers. Research was carried out as an attempt to identify the variables that determine companies’ ability to achieve a competitive advantage. The results of qualitative research are presented in the paper. Interdependence of entrepreneurs’ opinions for both domestic and foreign markets was examined by means of ordinal correlation measures.
