Opis:: The first automated, high-bay, warehouses were introduced some 50 years ago. Since then, developments have continued at a rapid pace. Initially, automation was mainly focused on pallet warehouses with bulk storage facilities. A major reason was to increase the storage density, which could be achieved by making the warehouses higher. Later, mini-load warehouses and order picking warehouses were also automated. In this paper we will discuss the different types of automated systems as well as a number of scientific results that are now known about such systems. We will first discuss storage systems for unit loads (bins and pallets). This will be followed by order picking systems from which individual packages can be picked. Finally, we will provide our future expectations of warehouse automation.

Opis:: This article reviews the major agents of change that are currently trending in transportation and logistics. Electrification is one of these trends as not only passenger vehicles, but also commercial vehicles seek both economic and sustainability objectives in its adoption. Information technology is another agent of change that is enabling technologies such as autonomous driving, blockchain solutions, and in-home delivery. One surprising global trend is the rise of nationalism and the resulting slow-down in momentum in global trade barrier reductions. This geo-political turbulence and the uncertainty it brings will require future supply chains to consider greater elements of flexibility in supply chain design.

Opis:: This study aims to evaluate the possibility of development of logistics centres (LCs) in Poland. Currently in Poland (2015) there are 4 LCs which meet European requirements and standards. The supply of warehouse space in Poland is catered mainly by developers building numerous storage facilities. Very often, however, they are incorrectly called "logistic centres". The paper presents the most significant differences between LCs and storage centres. The authors assessed the potential location of LCs in Poland using a grading point method. Three groups of location have been thoroughly characterized and identified where, from the location and economics point of view, is the best to develop an LC.

Opis:: Przedstawiono potencjał magazynowy oraz jego wykorzystanie w gospodarstwach o różnych typach produkcji rolniczej. Największym potencjałem magazynowym odznaczały się obiekty z grupy D - 49,3 m2źha-1, a najmniejszym obiekty z grupy A - 11,7 m2źha-1. Stopień wykorzystania powierzchni magazynowej wynosił od 65,3 (grupa B) do 88,6% (grupa A). Największą część powierzchni magazynowej zajmowały maszyny i urządzenia rolnicze - 33,8%, a najmniejszą środki produkcji - 18,2%. Najwyższy wskaźnik zagospodarowania powierzchni magazynowej odnotowano w gospodarstwach z grupy A - 1,09 tźm-2, a najmniejszy w gospodarstwach z grupy E - 0,28 tźm-2.
Storage potential and its use in farms with various types of agricultural production are presented. The greatest storage potential was found for the group D objects - 49.3 m2źha-1, the lowest storage potential was noted for the group A objects - 11.7 m2źha-1. The degree of using the storage area ranged from 65.3% (group B) to 88.6% (group A). The greatest part of the storage area was occupied by agricultural machines and equipment - 33.8%, the smallest part was occupied by means of production - 18.2%. The greatest storage area management index was noted for the group A farms - 1.09 tźm-2, and the lowest index was found for the group E farms - 0.28 tźm-2.

Opis:: In the paper basic premises, aims and scope of Rail Baltica Growth Corridor (RBGC) project in the context of Polish logistical services development are presented. The RBGC Project is an initiative in the framework of Baltic See Region Programme 2007-2013. The aim of the Project is the development of the infrastructure along the Rail Baltica corridor - rail connection between Helsinki and Berlin - through Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania - with Warsaw, Poznan and Bialystok in Poland. The concept of Rail Baltica, as an element of transeuropean transport corridor, aims at increasing the rail transport usage, in the framework of North-South international passenger and freight transport and at the development of high quality connections between Baltic countries and Poland. In this context the RBGD priority is to create metropolitan and regional strategies of Rail Baltica corridor development.

Opis:: Przedstawiono poziom infrastruktury logistycznej i wyniki produkcyjne w wybranych gospodarstwach Polski południowej. Określono aktualną wartość infrastruktury logistycznej oraz wielkość i strukturę produkcji. Zależność pomiędzy poziomem infrastruktury a wynikami produkcyjnymi przedstawiono w postaci wskaźnika inwestycyjności i aktywności logistycznej. Stwierdzono, że najwyższy wskaźnik inwestycyjności logistycznej występował w gospodarstwach o produkcji mieszanej - 11,89 tys. złźJZ-1, a wskaźnik aktywności logistycznej w gospodarstwach nastawionych na produkcję roślinną - 0,4 JZźtys. zł-1.
The level of logistic infrastructure development as well as the results of production on selected farms in southern Poland were investigated. Actual value of logistic infrastructure, the real production value and structure were determined. The relationships between infrastructure level and production results were given in form of logistic investment and activity indices. It was stated that the highest index of logistic investment was achieved by the farms of mixed production 11.89 thousand PLN per CU (cereal unit), whereas the index of logistic activity - by the farms directed to crop production (0.4 CU per 1 thousand PLN).

Współczesna nauka oraz technika dostarczają szeregu rozwiązań, które po-zwalają na pozyskiwanie informacji niezbędnych dla sprawnego kierowania trans-portem w miastach oraz rozwiązań technicznych i technologicznych, które ułatwią realizację procesów transportowych na ich terenie.
The article presents the problem of introducing changes in urban logistics as a tool to improve general conditions of city functioning, especially regarding the conditions of the functioning of the urban means of transport The city is an area where there are social processes that generate a number of problems arising in large part from the limited access to then urban logistic infra-structure, especially logistics infrastructure. Because of the conflicting interests of entities creating the city and the limited spatial and economical possibilities, proper actions must be taken to facilitate this task. Modern science and technology provides a number of solutions that make it possible to obtain information necessary for the proper management of urban logistics as well as technical and technological solutions that simplify accomplishment of the transportation processes in a given area.

Opis:: Logistyka zaczyna odgrywać nie tylko istotną rolę w funkcjonowaniu pojedynczych przedsiębiorstw, ale rośnie także jej znaczenie w skali makroekonomicznej. Zaczyna być widoczne jej oddziaływanie na cały system gospodarczy danego kraju, kontynentu, a nawet świata. Coraz częściej mówi się o wyodrębniającym się i nabierającym znaczenia sektorze logistycznym, jako jednym z sektorów mających udział w funkcjonowaniu przedsiębiorstw/łańcuchów dostaw i w konsekwencji generowaniu dochodu narodowego. Zasadniczym celem niniejszej publikacji jest zaprezentowanie logistycznych uwarunkowań rozwoju zarówno pojedynczych przedsiębiorstw, jak i łańcuchów dostaw. Analizą i oceną objęto infrastrukturalne uwarunkowania związane z transportem: • lądowym (drogowym, kolejowym), • powietrznym (lotniczym), • wodnym (żeglugą śródlądową i morską). Dokonując prezentacji i charakterystyki logistycznych uwarunkowań transportowych, autorzy, punkt ciężkości swoich rozważań przesunęli na aspekt towarowy. Ze względu na tematykę artykułu, kwestie związane z transportem pasażerskim zostały potraktowane marginalnie. Zasadnicza teza, której weryfikacji ma służyć treść wywodów, sprowadza się do następującego sformułowania: ilość i jakość infrastruktury logistycznej kraju jest jednym z istotnych warunków wpływających na rozwój łańcuchów dostaw.
macroeconomic level. Its impact on the entire economic system of a country, a continent and even the world is being exposed more and more. The separate and increasingly significant logistics sector is more and more often seen as one of the sectors participating in the functioning of enterprises/supply chains and, consequently, in generating national income. The main aim of this article is to present logistic conditions for the development of both individual companies and supply chains. The analysis and evaluation cover the following infrastructural conditions including: • land transport (road, rail); • air transport; • water transport (inland and sea). While presenting and describing the transport conditions, the authors shift their attention to the aspect of freight transport. Due to the subject of the article, issues related to passenger transport have been treated marginally. The main thesis, which is intended to verify the content of the arguments, boils down to the following statement: quantity and quality of logistic infrastructure of a country is one of the essential conditions affecting the development of supply chains.

Opis:: Przedstawiono potencjał magazynowy oraz jego wykorzystanie w gospodarstwach rolniczych o wielokierunkowym profilu produkcji. W wyniku przeprowadzonych badań stwierdzono, że potencjał magazynowy w badanych obiektach kształtował się na poziomie 202,1m2 i rósł w miarę wzrostu powierzchni gospodarstw. Stopień wykorzystania powierzchni magazynowej wyniósł 55,6%. Największą część powierzchni magazynowej zajmowały płody rolne - 54,3%, a najmniejszą środki produkcji - 10,6%.
The work presents storage potential and its utilization in farms characterised by multidirectional production profile. Completed tests show that storage potential in the analysed facilities was close to 202.1m2 and grew with increasing farm surface area. Storage area utilization level reached 55.6%. Largest part of total storage area was occupied by agricultural products: 54.3%, and smallest part - by means of production: 10.6%.
