Opis:: Purpose: The purpose of the work is to present the research results conducted among managers the largest companies in the world and in Poland provided by KPMG Report from 2021. Design/methodology/approach: Due to the cognitive nature of the work, the aim of the work will be achieved using the method of analyzing the literature and KPMG research results on the subject. Literature studies include Polish and foreign publications. Findings: Innovative technology, human capital and company’s mission is very widely described in international literature. Many reports have been created and the most updated brings new CEO’s outlook on management issues. Top managers and employees with technology are creating a mission of every firm. Originality/value: The analysis either literature and reports with 2021 statistics presents all areas where CEO’s during this pandemic world need to improve and develop old and new solutions. The data base presented in the world is most updated data developed in the work and science market.

Opis:: The dynamism of changes occurring in the social-economic space determines need for the systematic development, understood as seeking innovative solutions. Given that 46% of the world population uses the Internet and the 31% declares that they are active users of social media, no rationally formulated corporate strategy can omit the potential of computer technologies. One of the advanced solutions which are successively adapted in the sector of banking services is virtual reality. It seems that every industry from video games developers to healthcare is looking for innovative ways to integrate some sort of virtual reality platform into their day-to-day systems. The aim of the article is the presentation of the concept of virtual reality in the context of banking. The article proves the implementation of VR in banking generates competitive advantage. Additionally, it presents various aspects of applications, market trends and forecasts of the subsequent development of this phenomenon. Moreover, there is an attempt to answer a question, whether virtual reality improves the effectiveness of the banking activity

Opis:: The article is the result of a search for effective tools that can support the process of enriching the individual lexicon of students. The possibilities of involving students in this process through the use of selected ICT tools were indicated. It was pointed out that the use of various platforms and mobile applications in the development and control of lexical skills is conducive to individualization of teaching, and its inclusion in the learning process requires an analysis for usefulness in achieving expected learning outcomes. Online learning platforms such as WordWall and LearningApps, that allow for the design of interactive exercises facilitating the learning of foreign languages, and in particular the improving of foreign vocabulary, were analyzed. Their use in the course of independent learning enables the enrichment of vocabulary in accordance with the interests and individual communication needs of students. The inclusion of these tools in the didactic process may positively affect the motivation to learn, and their systematic use, both in the classroom and during individual work, it also allows the acceleration of the memorization of the vocabulary of a foreign language.

Opis:: The article presents partial results of qualitative research conducted among 83 respondents (28 teachers and 55 students) from four European countries, using tablets to work at school. The aim of the research was to recognize the scope of application of mobile technologies by teachers and students and also their opinions on the usefulness of these technologies as a support in the process of education. An image of teachers and students, who realistically assess the advantages and disadvantages of tablets, and who redefine their role in the educational process, emerges from the individual interviews and focus conversations.

Opis:: The concepts of open innovation and prosumption have been known for many years before the beginning of Web 2.0 and Web 3.0 era. Nowadays the Web technology evolution provides a fertile ground for cooperation and knowledge transfer between heterogeneous groups of consumers, producers and scientists from all over the world. The today platforms of open innovation gather hundreds of thousands of users. Therefore understanding and managing the breadth, depth and complexity of information resources they create becomes a challenge. The paper introduces the possibilities of exploiting the semantic technology in the portals of open innovations to better manage the large amount of content and the users interactions. The semantic solutions support the information retrieval functions, finding the potentially best problem solvers among community users and targeting the information transfer according to user’s preferences and activities.

Opis:: Poland achieved one of the lowest rates of expenditure on R&D activities in relation to GDP in the European Union. Effective tax incentives need to be created in order to stimulate research and development activities. In the article, the author presents the Polish tax regulations about the tax relief of the new technologies and indicates that the interest of this tax incentive is very low. The aim of the article is to present the main reasons of the taxpayers’ dislike for the technology relief and the propositions of the legal modification.
Polska osiąga jeden z najniższych wskaźników nakładów na działalność R&D w stosunku do PKB w Unii Europejskiej. Konieczne jest zatem dążenie do zwiększania wydatków na R&D i poprawy efektywności procesów innowacyjnych w Polsce. W tym celu wskazane jest stosowanie między innymi zachęt podatkowych z tytułu prowadzenia działalności badawczo-rozwojowej. W artykule omówiono funkcjonującą obecnie w Polsce ulgę na nabycie nowych technologii oraz przedstawiono dane dotyczące beneficjentów i przeciętnej wielkości odliczenia z tytułu ulgi. Celem opracowania było wskazanie mankamentów konstrukcji tej ulgi oraz przedstawienie propozycji zmian w tym zakresie.

This article analyzes the legal aspects of the development of innovation in Poland and the review of the strategy documents in innovation aspects in Europe. Described the legal innovation initiative in Poland, including key enabling technologies (KET). The European Union recognized KET technologies as a priority source of innovation, as reflected in the new EU Horizon 2020 and Cohesion Policy for 2014-2020.

Opis:: Generic technologies are oftentimes heralded as overall beneficial drivers of innovation, especially regarding their flexibility, low cost of adaption (once established) and their inclusiveness toward a variety of actors. This paper adds to literature on innovation-studies by questioning these promises through the lenses of ‘lock in’ and ‘path dependencies’ and asks how generic approaches to innovation may contribute to a fallacy where increased flexibility is assumed yet implicitly, a sort of ‘lock in genericism’ may occur. The paper argues that, for all the advantages that come with the research and adaption of generic technologies, they also bring with them an increased risk of enamourment with innovations that are applicable to a range of potential applications that, in turn, may lead to more specific technological innovations being at the danger of becoming invisible / unwanted altogether. To investigate this phenomenon further, the paper applies the concept of ‘lock in genericism’ to the field of eVTOL-multicopter- / drone-innovation. In this context, the paper analyzes a series of three case-studies to investigate how this ‘lock-in genericism’ emerges from material, temporal and spatial components of drone-making and subsequently seeks to outline a framework for ‘integrating generic technologies’ in this particular field of application (of drones) to overcome the described lock-in in this field while maintaining their advantages. The paper concludes by discussing the relevance of the concept of ‘lock-in genericism’ on a broader level, highlighting the risk of a ‘generic turn’ in contemporary innovation practices that, in turn, requires critical reflection.
