Opis:: The present work characterizes the hypermedia communication's features of mass media in Matanzas, Cuba: TV Yumurí, Radio 26 and the Editorial Girón. The study takes an approach, from the academy, to the cyberjournalistic praxis, describing professional practices, self-regulation and application of knowledge. A group of theoretical considerations around hypermedia resources are proposed in order to improve the digital journalism that we do. The communicology study integrates technical resources of quantitative and qualitative levels. It also considers policy documents, reflections of academics and legitimizing agents to analyze the assessments of their own social development. The main findings point to the heterogeneity, uneven development and fragmentation of cyber-journalistic wasting of the communicative potentialities that provides Internet, such as its hypertextuality, the interactivity and its multimediality.

Opis:: The transfer of so-called traditional journalistic genres to the Internet usually results in significant changes to their distinctive features. A good example is the Internet report, which simultaneously uses various forms of communication with recipients (e.g. text, film, image) and becomes both multimedia and intertextual material, which results in its hypertextual character. Similarly to any hypertext, because it often has a multimodal structure, it is also a kind of semi-finished product, as it only becomes a carrier of meanings and a complete work during its reception. As a result, extra tasks are set for the recipients. They must even more fully than in the case of classic literature or literary works participate in the process of decoding the meaning and become even more co-creators of the sense of the work that is being read. This article aims to demonstrate the essential features of how reports function on the Internet by referring to two specific materials that fall within the definition of the Internet report. Apart from this, the text attempts to confront the new variety of reporting with selected literary theories, such as the concept of “the death of the author” by Roland Barthes. Lastly, the article aims to cover the characteristics of the different types of recipients of hypertext forms of reporting functioning in an Internet environment.

Opis:: The article is a critical review of the commentary by Bartosz Adamczewski – Genesis. A Hypertextual Commentary. After presenting the theses put forward by Adamczewski in his commentary on Genesis, the criteria of sequential hypertextuality implemented by Adamczewski and his method of delimiting literary units that remain in hypertextual relations are critically reviewed. The methodological weakness of the hypertextual commentary on Genesis cannot be covered up by the creativity of the commentator.

Opis:: Madeline Miller’s The Song of Achilles (2011) is an imaginative rewriting of Homer’s Iliad. The writer uses the strategy of transfocalization and enters the text from the point of view of Patroclus. His fresh look offers a new critical perspective both on the moral world of the epic and on Achilles, the great Greek hero whose complex personality and tragic hubris Patroclus observes with emotional understanding. Miller transforms the Homeric sparing narrative of the friendship between Patroclus and Achilles into a touch- ing love story built on their mutual devotion, and locates this narrative at the heart of a world of ruthless violence. This paper will consider the writer’s use of hypertextual adap- tation in the novel from the perspective of the change in the narrative focus of the source, and discuss her objectives and methodology.

Opis:: Artykuł opisuje "First We Feel Then We Fall" - wielokanałową, interaktywną aplikację, będącą multimedialną adaptacją "Finnegans Wake" Jamesa Joyce'a. Oferuje ona widzom audiowizualny ekwiwalent Joyce'owski's słów-walizek, a jej oglądanie przypomina doświadczenie czytania tej enigmatycznej, wielojęzycznej, onirycznej opowieści. Jest to rodzaj intermedialnego przekładu hipertekstowości i symultaniczności cechujących tekst "Finnegans Wake". Obrazy, eufonie, rytmy i polifoniczne konteksty są tu oddane za pomocą czterech równoległych strumieni narracji, albo "fabuł". Z kolei sploty językowych,historycznych i symbolicznych znaczeń skondensowane w kalamburach, z jakich w dużej mierze składa się jej język przeniesione są na dynamiczną audiowizualną strukturę, która widzowie mogą współkształtować w trakcie oglądania aplikacji. Mogą oni dowolnie przełączać się pomiędzy czterema równoległymi strumieniami obrazu i dźwięku (a nawet napisów). Taka interaktywna i immersyjna natura "First We Feel Then We Fall" sprawia, że ta adaptacja wykracza poza poprzednie filmowe adaptacje dzieła Joyce'a. Stało się to jednak możliwe dopiero w dobie technologii cyfrowych, które umożliwiły nowatorskie podejście do złożoności "Finnegans Wake".
The article describes First We Feel Then We Fall, a multichannel, interactive video application, which is a multimedia adaptation of James Joyce’s Finnegans Wake. It offers the viewers a portmanteau-like audiovisual experience resembling the experience of reading Joyce’s enigmatic, multilingual dream-like narrative. Through an audiovisual format consisting of simultaneously running streams, it proposes an intermedial translation of hypertextuality and simultaneity of Finnegans Wake. The Wakean imagery, euphonies, rhythms, and polyphonic contexts are rendered into four narrative strands, or ‘plots’. Networks of linguistic, historical, symbolic, and mathematical meanings entailed in Wakean puns are transposed into a dynamic audiovisual structure that the audience can co-shape in the process of interactive viewing. They can switch at will between four simultaneous streams of film clips accompanied by sound (and optional captions with the Finnegans Wake text). The interactive and immersive nature of First We Feel Then We Fall goes beyond previous cinematic adaptations of Joyce’s novel. It is the advance of digital technologies that have enabled us to approach complexity of Finnegans Wake in this novel way.

Opis:: Bible exegesis is dealing at times with the accusation of superficial implementation of methods from various fields of science and of disrespect for the theological character of the Bible in hermeneutical and methodological presuppositions. This accusation can be directed also towards the many uses of intertextuality in biblical scholarship. The article challenges this situation and proposes what has been called a ‘theological model of intertextual interpretation’ – an approach based on literary theory of the ‘interpretant’ as understood by Michaele Riffaterre – that tends to respect more fully the theological character of the biblical text. After a detailed description of the approach and its methodological elements, the second part of the article deals with an example of the application of thereof – an intertextual exegesis of Rom 2:7 and Wis 2:23; Wis 6:18.19.

Opis:: Intertextuality, a term coined by Julia Kristeva, is a crucial aspect of all forms of creative expression, including literature, music, and art. The idea of intertextuality has been further expanded by Gérard Genette, who included intertextuality as one of the five aspects of the broader phenomenon of transtextuality. Among these several types is hypertextuality, which refers to the relationship between a text and its hypertextual extensions or variations. Within the scope of hypertextuality, Genette identified two methods of transforming a text A into a text B: direct and indirect transformation. This paper considers direct transformation. Although its primary association is with prose and poetry, it can also be extended to encompass song lyrics. In this article, several rock covers serve as examples of text B, and consideration is given to how they differ from their original counterparts (text A), albeit not in a musical form, but rather in terms of their lyrics. In the process, four different approaches were found for delivering a transformation of the original lyrics: fixed transformation, slight transformation, conversion of both the original meaning and lyrics, and considerable transformation.

Opis:: W niniejszej pracy opisano intertekstualne relacje znajdujące się w Amerykańskich przemowach prezydenckich wygłaszanych podczas ceremonii inauguracji. Praca ta dzieli się na część teoretyczną i analityczną. W części teoretycznej znajdują się trzy rozdziały. Na początku wyjaśnione zostało pojęcie przemowy inauguracyjnej jako odrębnego gatunku. Następnie nakreślona została historia rozwoju intertekstualności wraz z prezentacją trzech postaci, które uważane są za twórców owego pojęcia: Mikhail Bakhtin, Julia Kristeva oraz Roland Barthes. W kolejnym rozdziale autorka prezentuje współczesne podejście do pojęcia intertekstualności. Ten rozdział poświęcony jest także rodzajom transtekstualności Gerarda Genette’a, które autorka wykorzysta w części analitycznej. W owej części znajduje się trzynaście przemówień inauguracyjnych podzielonych na sekcje. Autorka identyfikuje intertekstualność w każdej z tych części. W ten sposób udało się zidentyfikować najczęściej wykorzystywane teksty, do których prezydenci odwołują się w swoich przemowach.
The present work focuses on the notion of intertextuality. The author tries to prove that inaugural addresses of American presidents delivered after World War II include intertextual relations. Also, she attempts at finding if the genre of inaugural speech is marked by similar allusions and references. In order to do it, she analyses thirteen American inaugural addresses and shows intertextual references on examples. The thesis comprises in theoretical part and analytical part. The theoretical part contains description of inaugural address as a genre. Thereafter, the author enumerates development of intertextuality and contemporary views on the concept. The last theoretical chapter introduces current researcher’s perceptions of intertextuality along with Gerard Genette’s types of transtextuality which the analysis is based on. In the analytical part the author divides speeches into sections proposed by Liu and analyses them in terms of intertextual relations.
