Along with the growth of the enterprise activity on a given market and its saturation with their products, such companies ex-pand the reach of their territory and enter new markets in order to avoid stagnation. The expansion is of local nature at first and subsequently as-sumes the form of regional activity, to offer its products all over the coun-try in the end. For numerous companies this is the final stage of expan-sion, however, some of them do not stop at winning the domestic market, but start to offer their services overseas. Entities whose services or prod-ucts are available almost all over the world are called global companies. Such enterprises must approach the strategy of development, growth and competition in a different way. This paper discusses such issues, present-ing the case study of Google’s strategy.

Opis:: Celem artykułu jest prezentacja możliwości wykorzystania wybranych metod zarządzania jakością w doskonaleniu obszaru logistyki produkcji. W artykule zaprezentowano wnioski płynące z przeglądu literatury w zakresie znaczenia logistyki w procesie produkcji oraz jej doskonalenia z perspektywy zarządzania jakością. Następnie opisano proces doskonalenia logistyki produkcji w przedsiębiorstwie produkującym siłowniki hydrauliczne rozpoczynając od analizy przebiegu procesu produkcji, poprzez prezentację opracowanej propozycji doskonalenia, a kończąc na jej ocenie. W celu analizy procesu oraz podczas oceny propozycji wykorzystano diagram spaghetti. Zaprezentowane case study oraz jego analiza, poprzedzone rozważaniami teoretycznymi mogą stanowić inspirację dla innych przedsiębiorstw do wdrożenia opisanych narzędzi. Przedstawiony w artykule studium przypadku ukazuje jak bez zaangażowania środków finansowych można dążyć do znaczącej poprawy jakości w obszarze logistyki produkcji.

Bezpieczeństwo, jako przedmiot dydaktyki akademickiej stanowi niezwykle wymagające wyzwanie. Złożoność i interdyscyplinarność problemów bezpieczeństwa utrudnia ich całościową (wyczerpującą) prezentację w warunkach ograniczonych czasowo możliwości wykładowych. Ponadto należy pamiętać, że bezpieczeństwo, jako problemem praktyczny winien podlegać zasadom empirycznego poznania. W związku z powyższym za najbardziej pożądany i najskuteczniejszy sposób prezentowania studentom wiedzy z wyodrębnionego obszaru nauk o bezpieczeństwie należy uznać oparcie się o analizę konkretnie dobranego, wąskiego „przypadku“ – praktycznego problemu.

Opis:: The topic of neurodiversity management is a relatively new area of research in management and quality sciences. The term ‘neurodiversity’ itself was coined only in 1998. Since then, there has been more and more talk about the competitive advantage of companies employing neurodiverse [ND] individuals. Companies that are able to exploit the potential inherent in neurodiversity build strong, innovative teams capable of changing the world for the better. Managing a neurodiverse team requires understanding, acceptance and action to create an inclusive working environment. Nevertheless, it is an investment in the future with tangible benefits for both companies and employees. Despite the benefits of employing neurodiverse people, the majority of these individuals are still rejected by the labour market. The main objective of this article is to identify good practices in neurodiversity management in multinational organisations implementing neurodiversity management programmes, to mention just a few like IBM, Microsoft, EY, SAP, Skanska. Two flagship companies were selected to be investigated in a case study analysis: EY and Microsoft, which even boast on their websites about their good practices and skills in the area of neurodiversity management best practices. EY belongs to the consulting sector and Microsoft to the IT sector, both of which are also active in Poland. The study identified good practices for managing neurodiversity in multinational companies such as customised recruitment process, e.g. in the form of a hiring event, establishing in-ternal support groups for ND employees, and creation of the organisational culture based on acceptance, tolerance and understanding. Following the results of the study, suggestions were made for companies to facilitate the inclusion of neurodiversity in order to create a working environment where both neurodiverse and neurotypical people can thrive, thus contributing to organisational success.

Opis:: Celem pracy jest szczegółowe przedstawienie procesu sukcesji w przedsiębiorstwie rodzinnym Kotniz oraz identyfikacja czynników wpływających na ten proces. Przeprowadzono narracyjny przegląd literatury, który miał na celu systematyzację wiedzy dotyczącej sukcesji w przedsiębiorstwach rodzinnych. Badanie miało charakter jakościowy oraz obejmowało grupę przedstawicieli kadry kierowniczej firmy Kotniz. Wykorzystano autorskie narzędzie badawcze w postaci kwestionariusza wywiadu oraz program MAXQDA do kodowania i hierarchizacji zgromadzonych danych. Wyniki badania wskazują, że proces sukcesji w firmie Kotniz był silnie uzależniony od czynników emocjonalnych i psychologicznych. Sukcesja "z ojca na syna" była realizowana w kontekście silnych więzi rodzinnych, co miało znaczący wpływ na stabilność i kontynuację działalności firmy. Artykuł podkreśla znaczenie przygotowania zarówno sukcesora, jak i nestora do procesu sukcesji, a także konieczność uwzględnienia aspektów emocjonalnych, które mogą wpływać na efektywność i powodzenie tego procesu.

Opis:: An additional objective of the research, which was a part of the project “Quantification of the Effect of the Selected Forest Enterprise on the Local Economy of the Region” of the Internal Grant Agency (IGA) of Mendel University in Brno conducted in 2016 was a large case study of the property of Pisek City Forests Ltd. This article is focused on surveying the willingness of area visitors to pay for usage of the recreational function of forests and evaluation of the used method. The evaluated part of the questionnaire survey was based on the method of contingent valuation founded on the willingness of respondents to pay for recreational function. It was found in the results of the questionnaire survey that visitors are not very willing to pay for recreational function, and it is especially because forests in the area of Pisek City Forests Ltd. are perceived as public assets and thus access to them should be without fee. Furthermore, there were problems found with the method. Thus it is necessary to find a new way of evaluation of the recreational potential of the area.

Opis:: In e-business freemium business models have become legitimate. However, current research provides little insight on how the free and premium offering should be employed to lead to growth and success in the long run. The presented research aims to fill this gap by investigating how the property ‘free’ was employed in young entrepreneurial ventures’ business models in the initial life-cycle stages – opportunity recognition, market entry, and market exploitation. We find that various forms of freemium business models are employed through the initial life-cycle stages of a new venture for reasons of trial-and-error, learning, exploration, legitimization and resource acquisition. A freemium business model can also serve as a nascent business model, though without a sustainable monetization component, for finding a sustainable business model through a series of dynamic adjustments. With our findings we contribute to the business model literature in three ways: First, our empirical findings show the many-sidedness of the component ‘free’ in freemium business models. Free users are of importance for network building, exploration and exploitation and growth over time. Moreover, free users enable directly and indirectly further resource acquisition. Second, while previous literature has taken a static perspective, we contribute by illustrating the dynamic process of strategic business model design for growth. Finally, we introduce the concept of the nascent business model which is new to the literature.

Opis:: Cel. Celem niniejszego artykułu jest ukazanie roli rodziny jako kluczowego czynnika wspierającego skuteczny proces resocjalizacji oraz reintegracji społecznej osób opuszczających zakład karny. Rodzina, pełniąc funkcję systemu wsparcia emocjonalnego, moralnego i praktycznego, może odegrać fundamentalną rolę w procesie zmiany postaw i zachowań jednostki, pomagając jej w powrocie do życia zgodnego z normami społecznymi. Przedmiotem analizy jest wpływ emocjonalnego zaangażowania, obecności oraz wsparcia członków rodziny na proces resocjalizacji osoby odbywającej karę pozbawienia wolności. W szczególności chodzi o to, w jaki sposób relacje rodzinne mogą wpłynąć na motywację skazanych do podjęcia wysiłku zmiany. Metody i materiały. W części metodologicznej artykuł opiera się na metodzie indywidualnego studium przypadku, wzbogaconej o analizę pojęciową. Przedstawiono definicje kluczowych terminów, takich jak rodzina, resocjalizacja oraz izolacja penitencjarna, które stanowią teoretyczne tło dla przeprowadzonej analizy. Rozważania teoretyczne koncentrują się na roli rodziny w procesie społecznej readaptacji jednostki, zwracając uwagę na znaczenie wsparcia emocjonalnego i motywacyjnego w kontekście resocjalizacji. Wyniki i wnioski. Wyniki analizy przypadku wskazują, że więzi rodzinne, w tym emocjonalne zaangażowanie i wsparcie ze strony najbliższych, mogą być kluczowym motorem do zmiany postaw i powrotu do życia zgodnego z normami społecznymi. Studium podkreśla również potrzebę indywidualnego podejścia w pracy resocjalizacyjnej oraz wskazuje na pozytywną interakcję pomiędzy środowiskiem rodzinnym a osobą poddaną resocjalizacji. Wnioski płynące z analizy mogą stanowić punkt wyjścia do dalszych badań nad rolą rodziny w procesie readaptacji osób po odbyciu kary pozbawienia wolności.
Aim. This article highlights the crucial role of the family in supporting the resocialization and social reintegration of individuals leaving prison. The family, as an emotional, moral, and practical support system, plays a vital role in reshaping attitudes and behaviours, helping individuals reintegrate into society and live according to social norms. The analysis focuses on the influence of family relationships, emotional engagement, and support on the motivation of incarcerated individuals to change and their efforts toward resocialization. Methods and materials. The methodology is based on an individual case study and conceptual analysis. Definitions of key terms such as family, resocialization, and penitentiary isolation provide the theoretical foundation for the discussion. The article examines the family’s role in social reintegration, particularly the importance of emotional and motivational support in the resocialization process. Results and conclusion. The results of the case analysis suggest that strong family bonds, including emotional involvement and support from close relatives, are crucial drivers for personal change and successful reintegration into society. The study emphasises the need for an individualised approach to resocialization and highlights the positive influence of family dynamics on individuals undergoing the process. These findings offer a foundation for further research into the role of family in the post-prison reintegration of individuals and the significance of their involvement in the resocialization process.

Przedmiot badań stanowią dzielnice Olszówka Górna i Dolna, zlokalizowane w południowej części miasta Bielska-Białej. Celem badawczym jest zidentyfikowanie przeobrażeń krajobrazu obu dzielnic i wskazanie pozytywnych działań na rzecz ochrony wartości przyrodniczo-kulturowych. Metody badawcze, do których należały zarówno analizy źródeł pośrednich, jak i danych źródłowych, pozwoliły na wskazanie pozytywnych przykładów rozwiązań w zakresie kształtowania i ochrony wartości kulturowych i przyrodniczych.

The Nowe Centrum Łodzi project that was completed in 2007 in Łódź, Poland is one of the biggest contemporary large-scale urban (re)development projects in Europe and the largest project of this type in Central Europe. The principal goals of the mega-project in question include the regeneration of degraded post-industrial and post-railway land in the city centre of Łódź and the enhancement of competitiveness and the metropolitan position of the city. The authors seek to identify spatial and functional changes at a mezo-scale, i.e. in the so-called immediate neighbourhood of the urban regeneration megaproject (URMP), which have accompanied the implementation of the Nowe Centrum Łodzi project over the years 2013–2016. The other aim was to classify urban areas neighbouring the URMP based on features of spatial and functional transformation identified in these areas. The studies allowed the researchers to identify three categories of urban area in the immediate neighbourhood of the URMP which revealed differences in spatial and functional transformations. We indicated that the transformation of the immediate neighbourhood of the URMP involved not only the local authorities responsible for the overall improvement of the quality of public space but also other users, inter alia, residents, local urban activists, the business community, public institutions, and NGOs, that in most cases complemented efforts initiated by the municipality. From the methodological point of view the authors use a case study including desk research, an urban planning inventory, and direct observation.
