Kozłowski, R., Bieńkowska, D. (2016). Finding dignity. The philosophical, social and legal contexts of crisis in human dignity. Journal of Teaching and Education, 05(01), 425–436.
Opis:
In contemporary world there are a lot of idea of dignity and we can observe many differences in the perception and interpretation of it. One can find many reasons for this discrepancy. While focusing on the most important human rights, the authors want to demonstrate that, despite the many changes that have occurred in recent decades, the idea of human rights is essential to human dignity. For these reasons, we believe that the nature of human rights require its re-examination in the prism of human dignity. Analysis of philosophical, cultural and legal contexts in which a concept of dignity occurs, may contribute to a better understanding of what dignity is and what is not. Above all, may allow reflection on the crisis of dignity of the XXI century human. Dignity is a type of value that co-creates the sense of human life, directs to a specific goal, and also regulates interpersonal connections. Here, the authors analyze dignity in the context of specific concepts of man to show the relations between dignity and the eternal question: "who am I in the light of my rights?" Secondarily, we show how crucial contextual and hermeneutical thinking is, while studying fundamental concepts of human experiences such as dignity. The analysis of the subject carried out by experts in fields of legal and philosophical sciences, based on the common foundation, which is an individual and his life, points to many critical issues that need to be thoroughly evaluated, as long as the subject is approached holistically

Opis:
All types of risks, ecological, natural disasters or the ones provoked by human activity, no matter whether they have local, regional or global range, all of them affect a human being. The combination of economic, political, social factors and the particular characteristics of a person or group and their situation determine their capacity to predict, prepare, respond, resist and recover from the impact of threats they experience. On the one hand, the technological, economic and social development brings about the changes and risks (opportunities and threats), make the security environment less and less predictable and people more vulnerable to all hazard. On the other hand, the same technological economic and social development is indispensable to resolve, as U. Beck claims, the side-product of man-made actions. These intricate dependencies between security, development and human rights and well-being are the realm of human security which is reflected in its strategic goals, research, practical programs and projects on global scale. The human-centric approach in security seems the most effective as all these risks we should respond to are detrimental to human population and to a future in general.

Opis:
Microbiota studies have uncovered numerous associations between human gut microbes and health-related outcomes. However, since most of these correlations were observed in cross-sectional studies, the causal inference is limited. The causal contribution of microbiota can be evidenced through disease induction or exacerbation in animal models after fecal microbiota transplantation (FMT) from patients. In this article we present a protocol for a scoping review on the subject of FMT from humans to animals. Besides assessing how the published studies were conducted, in that scoping review we aim to find out whether enough literature exists to conduct a systematic review of the evidence for microbiota participation in the pathophysiology of any human non-infectious disease or phenotypic trait. We will conduct searches on the Web of Science platform and databases: MEDLINE, Scopus, EMBASE. Citation chasing of included studies will be done. We will include studies assessing the effects of FMT collected from people with certain medical conditions on animals. Studies that recruited only healthy humans or used other animals as donors will be excluded. The results of this literature search will be tabulated and discussed. Moreover, we will provide a short list of human non-infectious diseases or traits with the highest number of FMT patient-to-animal studies.
