Opis:
Since ancient times, it has been emphasized that while artists were musicians without knowledge of exact sciences, physicists and mathematicians were the people of science without knowledge of music. Analyses made by the latter placed all musical factors on the same level, in contrast to musician artists, who ranked musical elements in a completely different way than the scientists. For this reason, the interest in sound on the part of researchers from various scientific and artistic disciplines has been noticeable for ages. The question of how sounds created with instruments and the human voice (which itself is a building element of music) are perceived and interpreted by hearers has been the subject of deliberations for many centuries. What is sound – what is its genesis, construction, and structure? This article focuses on the perception of sound via analysis of an auditory image in the context of the philosophy of music.

Opis:
Dental age is one of the most reliable methods for determining a patient’s age. The timing of teething, the period of tooth replacement, or the degree of tooth attrition is an important diagnostic factor in the assessment of an individual’s developmental age. It is used in orthodontics, pediatric dentistry, endocrinology, forensic medicine, and pathomorphology, but also in scenarios regarding international adoptions and illegal immigrants. The methods used to date are time-consuming and not very precise. For this reason, artificial intelligence methods are increasingly used to estimate the age of a patient. The present work is a continuation of the work of Zaborowicz et al. In the presented research, a set of 21 original indicators was used to create deep neural network models. The aim of this study was to verify the ability to generate a more accurate deep neural network model compared to models produced previously. The quality parameters of the produced models were as follows. The MAE error of the produced models, depending on the learning set used, was between 2.34 and 4.61 months, while the RMSE error was between 5.58 and 7.49 months. The correlation coefficient R2 ranged from 0.92 to 0.96.

Opis:
In contrast to previous studies investigating the effect of freezing at low temperatures, this work aimed to evaluate the quality of ‘Mejhoul’ during the long-term storage of 8 months under freezing at −10 °C and −18 °C. Based on numerous physicochemical attributes and image features, the behavior of ‘Mejhoul’ was assessed at 0, 2, 4, 6, and 8 months of frozen storage. The quality characteristics examined included polyphenols, sugars, color parameters, hardness, water loss, defects, and image features. The results exhibited a significant increase in water activity after eight months of frozen storage. pH increased in a similar way for both storage conditions, while titratable acidity decreased significantly. All color attributes (L*, a*, and b*) were not influenced by frozen storage, while hardness decreased significantly after eight months. Phenolic acids decreased significantly at the end of frozen storage for both freezing temperatures. However, total polyphenols, flavonoids, total sugars, glucose, and fructose were not affected by the prolonged frozen storage. Furthermore, this investigation showed a slight water gain at both storage temperatures, with a pronounced occurrence rate of skin separation for ‘Mejhoul’ stored at −18 °C. Finally, the clustering analysis exhibited a high linkage distance between the examined groups at frozen storage at −10 °C compared to −18 °C.
