This study analyses the psychological mechanisms that have a significant influence on the adaptation process in young of- fenders. The psychological determinants of this process include the reciprocal associations between the resources individuals possess (their importance, gains and losses) and their experience of self-efficacy in three temporal perspectives (past, present, future). The research was conducted on a group of three-hundred-and-sixty-two young people, each of whom had committed at least one offence. rotter’s Incomplete sentence Blank (rIsB) was used to measure adaptation, hobfoll’s Conservation of resources evaluation (importance, gains, losses) was applied to measure resources, while Niewiadomska’s Life self-appraisal Questionnaire served for the research into self-efficacy. Path analysis was used to show how adaptation was formed by the as- sociations occurring between the individuals’ experience of self-efficacy and the distribution of resources. The study found five mechanisms shaping the adaptive capacities in the group of young offenders, which reflect the reciprocal associations between their experience of self-efficacy and the level, gains and losses of perceived resources.

Opis:
"Designed spaces and architectural objects are mostly stationary, they are unable to undergo controllable modifications. However, spaces in which we live are used in an multi-faceted way. Atmospheric conditions influence buildings in a way they function, its overheating, underheating, its relation with sunlight. Function of cultural buildings depends on current events that take place inside. Number of buildings users, owners and functions change in time. In a constantly rearranging world, being able to adapt to different environments, conditions, functions and needs becomes a necessity. Movement can be used in diverse ways, offer a series of optimizations in a process of creation of a building. Using sliding blinds or panels can be used to control amount of sun entering a room and thus also overheating of a building. Equipping a building with a double skin facade, which has mobile elements, allows temperature control. That same way a relation between an inside and an outside of a building can vary, depending on needs of a user. Mobile architecture can be a solution for temporary architecture, possibly reducing costs of a building by using one object multiple times, in different areas. Creating an interior with sliding walls allows introducing multiple functions, different amount of users and adapting one space to current needs. An objective of this work is to define ways to use movement for buildings that are adaptable and changeable. This allows designing a space dedicated to many needs and functional possibilities, which leads to optimization of resources that are necessary for creating an open building."

Intellectual capital is a collection of intangible resources of companies which have a significant impact on the way of doing business, and in many cases determine the market opportunity for success. Despite fairly intensive development of this concept in many Polish companies still intellectual capital is not taken into account when analyzing the capacity of the enterprise and in making decisions of a strategic nature. The main obstacles seem to be here for lack of knowledge about intellectual capital and the lack of financial resources. This chapter presents the results of research conducted on a sample of 81 companies on the approach to intellectual capital and commitment to shaping its structure.

Major issues in forest science, such as climate change, bio-energy, biodiversity, and water, were assessed by IUFRO responsive to the broader scientific and policy communities to tackle more complex global environmental, social, and economic issues impacting forests. Other issues highlighted in this paper are forest health and forest genetics; forest modeling and operations engineering; challenges for mitigation and adaptation; public participation on decisions, research, and distribution of benefits; estimating ecosystem services, biofuels and biodiversity; societal issues, including health, food, poverty, urbanization, and lifestyle; educational change in structure and topics; and information and research administration. As forest science faced various challenges in the last few years, there is a need for interdisciplinary approaches and cross-sectoral collaboration. These interrelated and emerging key-issues, particularly climate change, biodiversity, bio-energy and water, are of strong interest to policy makers and groups inside and outside the forest sector. These will all be of high relevance to forest science and to IUFRO in the coming years, primarily for global collaboration.

Opis:
Purpose of the work: Mountainous areas, with altitude over 700 m, intense relief and slopes between 16–20%, cover 43% of Greece and they are usually characterized by low population density and long-term unemployment. The Greeks have a dependent connection among environment, economy and society as the history illustrates. Many of Greece's historic, cultural landscapes and native ecosystems have been degraded or isolated over the years. There is scientific evidence that Greece's natural/semi-natural forested areas cannot be sustained without watersheds, ridges and other natural corridors that connect its native landscapes and ecosystems. Logging systems are really ancient by using often only mules or horses. The aim of the work is to estimate how harvesting systems should be technologically upgraded improving forest work and social wellness maintaining at the same time ecological sustainability. Approach: The study area is held at Samarina region, a mountainous area of Northern Pindos in Greece. Social data were collected with questionnaires and local visits for better understanding of human resources for forest authorities and other administrative information's. DTM, Forest Inventory data and other GIS data have been derived by paper maps and previous studies. A registration of road-net and human resources within the protected area of Valia Kyrna and their contribution as factors for the sustainable development was used. The development of a Spatial Decision Sup- a Support System that can concern all the conditions that are need in order to make an estimation of the optimal way of harvest a stand is really a challenge. Expected results: A GIS program is a powerful decision support tool in order to give the opportunity to the offices of Forestry to choose the optimal way of harvesting a stand and also to realize visually the effect's of such a kind of work; that is going to be held to the inhabitants and to the tourists of the area. Conclusion: The potential of social and ecological factors is examined as it concerns the promotion of the protected area within sustainable rural development. Advantages of registration in the form of a spatial tool, especially when many types of information participate, are presented.

Opis:
PURPOSE: It is increasingly emphasized that human resource management practices (HRMP), which refer to recruiting and selection, training and development, compensation and performance appraisal, are of great importance for creating innovation. However, the COVID-19 pandemic has shown that traditional HRMPs are already insufficient, which entails the need to rethink and reformulate them in the direction of more effective innovation while also allowing organizations to survive COVID-19-like crises. While there is an extensive literature on human resources management and innovation, there is still no consensus on innovation-driven HRMP. This study aims to identify and synthesize most significant and trustworthy research contributions of innovation-driven HRMP. In addition, to facilitate theory building in the field of HRMP, this article consolidates the existing knowledge into an integrative framework. This framework can be used by future researchers to identify gaps and ambiguities in the meaning of innovation-driven HRMP. METHODOLOGY: The article presents the results of a systematic literature review of 71 empirical research articles referring to innovation-driven HRMP from the Web of Science and Scopus databases. FINDINGS: The systematic literature review allowed us to identify innovation-driven HRMP, taking into account three levels of analysis: individual, group and organizational, with the latter level of analysis being dominant in previous publications. Recognition of innovation-driven HRMP, taking into account the levels in question, is included in an integrative framework, which is the theoretical basis for guiding future research. Our results confirmed the growing trend in the number of publications on the subject since 2010. Most researchers used a quantitative approach. Based on the first author’s affiliation, authors from Great Britain contributed the largest number of publications. Articles are published in various journals, but mainly in those on human resources management. The research took into account a variety of organizational contexts, predominantly in dynamic and complex industries. Our findings show that the current state of research on innovation-driven HRMP confirms the need for further research in this area. Based on this, we provided thematic gaps and potential questions for future research divided into three levels of innovation-driven HRMP. IMPLICATIONS: Our systematic literature review allowed us to propose implications for future researchers planning to conduct research in the field of innovation-driven HRMP. ORIGINALITY AND VALUE: Our systematic literature review focuses on identifying innovation-driven HRMP along with determining the current state of knowledge and future research directions in this area. In addition, we developed an integrative framework that aims at organizing existing literature but also at identifying promising future research directions into innovation-driven HRMP.

Opis:
Animals are adversely affected by high relative humidity and low temperatures. The optimum temperature range depends on the species, age and weight of the animals. The aim is to analyze parameters of microclimate (humidity and temperature regime) in sheepfold environment and sheepfold walls made from wooden panels with straw filler and to promote science innovations, the use of effective and renewable local resources (straw) in buildings construction. Humidity, temperature regime parameters of the sheepfold microclimate were monitored by sensors and stored in the data loggers. The article presents analysis of parameters microclimate in sheepfold made from wooden panels with straw filler monitoring results (monitoring period 21/02/2015 – 20/04/2015) of the measurement of the external (outdoor), internal (indoor), inside walls (at the depth 10 and 30 cm) temperatures and relative air humidity. The monitoring results in the sheepfold have shown that the relative humidity of the air is too high. It has been observed that the straw filler performs thermal insulation function – after the outside temperature drops to –6° C, the indoor temperature and temperature inside walls in all the measuring points in the sheepfold did not fall below 0°C.
