Opis:: In this study, it was aimed to solve the problems occurring in a clothing company’s shirt manufacturing line. For this Pareto charts and A3 reporting philosophy were used to organise the process in the best way. In line with the examinations and analyses made, an apparatus was developed to shorten the unit time and standardise the quality for the collar preparation process, which is the fault with the highest frequency. Afterward, the collar preparation process was compared according to the situation with the apparatus, manual and automat. As a result of the implementation of the Pareto charts and A3 reporting technique, it can be seen that while the total time spent on the process with the automat is 24.6 seconds, this time is 87% quicker than the apparatus developed, which is 46.2 seconds; however, it needs 95% more investment.

Zhuanghua is a representative variety of Nanjing Yun brocade, symbolising the highest achievement of ancient Chinese textile technology. It has been widely used as a clothing fabric since its appearance. This paper firstly explored the characteristics of weaving materials, fabric weaves, and fabric weaving of Zhuanghua based on a literature review, manufactory visiting, and a market survey. To preserve the textile application, the permeability, shape preservation property, and appearance preservation property of fabric were tested for wearability. Specifically, six pieces of Zhuanghua satin were selected as the primary samples, along with six pieces of customised plain satin as the matching samples. Influenced by the Zhuangzhi technique, the Zhuanghua satin presented the following features. The thickness and air permeability of the Zhuanghua satin varied between patterned and non-patterned parts. The Zhuanghua satin in the weft direction showed higher tensile strength, stronger stiffness, and weak crease recovery ability. The average weft elongation at break of Zhuanghua satin increased by 25% and the weft flexural rigidity by 3–8 times, while the average weft crease recovery angle decreased by nearly 30°. The performance of anti-fuzzing and anti-pilling was improved, and the grades increased by 1 and 2, respectively. The study is conducive to a more scientific understanding and development of Yun brocade.

Opis:: Origami has various manifestations and rich production techniques, and it is regarded as one of the indispensable contemporary art forms. In order to enrich the creative expressions of fashion design, this paper summarises the creative application forms of origami art in fashion design from the external and moulding characteristics of origami, studies the fabric characteristics through experimental verification, and summarises the applicable techniques of expression. The results show that the folding application forms of origami art and clothing modelling can be realised by using the expression methods of ironing and crimping, stitching texture moulding and repeated combination moulding, that is, pattern deformation folding application, fabric transformation folding application and modular combination folding application. The application of the folding form in clothing three-dimensional modelling and surface texture can give full play to the unique modelling beauty and artistic style of origami art and provide a reference for creative ideas in clothing design.

Opis:: Atrial tachycardia (AT) is a prevalent cardiac arrhythmia characterized by rapid, abnormal electrical activity originating from the atria. It represents a significant clinical challenge due to its potential for recurrence, adverse cardiovascular outcomes and impact on quality of life. Catheter ablation has emerged as a primary therapeutic modality for AT, offering the potential for rhythm control and symptom alleviation. Despite advancements in techniques and technology, the success of AT ablation can vary widely among patients. Identifying prognostic factors associated with successful AT ablation and potential outcome improving techniques is imperative for optimizing patient care.

A horizontal subsurface flow constructed wetland was investigated after eight years of residential wastewater discharge (150 person equivalents). Twenty core samples distributed over the entire wetland were taken from the soil matrix. The distribution pattern of phosphorus (P) accumulation in the substrate of the wetland was determined using kriging technique and P sorption was related to the content of aluminum (Al), calcium (Ca) and iron (Fe). The correlations found between Al, Ca and Fe content and P accumulation in the bed substrate were weak: R2 = 0.09, R2 = 0.21 and R2 = 0.28, respectively. Great heterogeneity was observed in the distribution of Ca, P and organic matter in the superficial and deeper layers of the bed. Hydraulic problems associated with wastewater discharge and conductivity of the bed substrate were suggested to have negative effects on the wetland performance.

Opis:: The pibian (皮弁, pronounced as pì biàn in Chinese) is a kind of cap specific to China. Before the Ming dynasty (1368-1644), it was made of deer hide, while in the Ming dynasty, it was woven with bamboo filament. Through analysis on the forms, techniques and materials used in the pibian preserved, we discovered that pibian displayed a superb artisanship level. The sign of status was depicted through the pibian’s structures and ornaments in an ingenious way, and its structures and components were closely linked with the social culture.

Opis:: The measurements of the drift velocities and characteristic energies of electrons in deuterium are presented. Drift velocities are obtained between 3 and125 Td by a standard Bradbuty-Nielsen technique with a double set of shutters. The characteristic energy for the transverse diffusion was measured by a standard Townsend-Huxley technique to be between 3 and 1000 Td. The drift velocities and characteristic energies are in good agreement with the best available data in the range of overlap and extend the availability of the experimental data to higher E/N. The predictions based on the best available cross section sets do not match the experimental results at higher EJN above the limits of the previously available data.

Opis:: As one of the representative silk-woven artworks of the 20th century in China, Chinese Xiangjin brocade, well-known as “the flower of Oriental art”, draws on the essence of Sichuan brocade, Yun brocade, Song brocade, so as to form its own unique artistic style. It also takes the lead in the innovation of traditional brocade in key processes such as craftsmanship, design and jacquard, whose drawing technique is the exact core skill making it intangible cultural heritage. So far, there have been few studies on crafts and textile design in China before the 20th century or even after the reform and opening up, and rather fewer studies on the structure of Xiangjin brocade in the 20th century. This paper attempts to record and classify 1008 pieces of Xiangjin brocade in the Suzhou Silk Archive, China, as well as to find out their design features, oriental flavour, and unique weaving techniques. In addition, the cultural connotation of Xiangjin brocade as the painting medium was also put forward by analysing those brocades' historical texts, images, and style.

Opis:: Folk textile is important part of tangible heritage in Lithuania and Western Ukraine. Comparable analysis of folk bedspreads is relevant for visual representation of the national identity of both countries. The aim of the paper is to analyse and compare structural parameters and colour combinations of folk bedspreads from Western Ukraine and Lithuania, seeking to find and highlight their universal and unique parameters. The materials, techniques, patterns and colouring of Western Ukrainian and Lithuanian bedspreads were compared. In some cases, very similar principles of decoration were discovered, but some Lithuanian and Ukrainian bedspreads were completely different.
