Opis:
We present an analysis of the wood harvesting residues procurement process. In this case chips are supplied to large power plants. Analysis is based on data collected in north-eastern Poland. Typical logistic division of the system objects categories are applied - movable or active objects (vehicles skidding, trucks, choppers, etc.) and stationary or passive ones (storage yards, warehouses). To determine the time of execution of the operations by the active objects (machines), because of the stochastic character of the process and its environment, we apply description of uncertain dynamic systems derived from dynamic programming. The necessary data were obtained during field research of wood harvesting and transport process

Opis:
The work investigates possibilities of plant products quality assessment by means of neural networks. A quick method of plant products assessment was proposed based on the correlations occurring between selected features of plant products and neural modelling. This approach facilitates sustainable agricultural production, which often requires making decisions based on approximate but quick assessment of the quality of produced or processed products. The method of quality assessment is presented using changes in the features of pumpkin being dried as an example. Changes in selected features of chemical composition and colour were analysed, including correlations between them. Initial analysis involved cluster analysis, which allowed for grouping data into cases characterized by similar quality. Based on the analysis, a neural model was developed, which, based on easily obtainable features, allowed for classification of products according to their quality features. This approach was positively verified based on the results of chemical composition and quality assessment performed using statistical analysis of data.

Opis:
The paper is concerned with the modeling of reactive powder concrete (RPC) by using the method of numerical homogenization. More specifically, we use a two-scale modeling approach and the finite element method. The behaviour of a concrete model of RPC on the macro scale is described on the basis of the phenomena occurring in the microstructure of the material. The applied approach makes it possible to design an optimal composition of the reactive powder concrete and provides the possibility to take into account the phenomena occurring in the microstructure as concerns the physical and mechanical properties of the material. The method does not require any knowledge of the constitutive equations at the macro level, which are determined implicitly for each load increment by solving a boundary value problem for the numerical model of RPC on the micro level as a representative volume element (RVE). Thus, to determine the constitutive equations on the macro scale it is necessary to know the geometry of the microstructure, the constitutive equations at the micro level and their parameters. In this contribution the material response of each material constituents (cement matrix, sand, crushed quartz) is assumed to be elastic. The microstructure of RPC concrete (RVE) is generated by a stochastic way. A computer program for two-scale homogenization has been developed and numerical results for two test problems are presented. The aim of the first two-scale test was to check the program in the case of homogeneous material. The second example present the results obtained for another micro-scale problem. Further studies of the considered problem, including also laboratory experiments, are under way.

In distribution system, bus load estimation is complicated because system load is usually monitored at only a few points. As a rule receiving nodes are not equipped with stationary measuring instruments so measurements of loads are performed sporadically. In general, the only information commonly available regarding loads, other than major distribution substations and equipment installations, is billing cycle customer kWh consumption. The paper presents application possibilities of ARIMA modelling with fuzzy clustering approach to electrical load estimation. The clustering of the substations (customers) according to daily load curves is made on the base of the average alignment degrees. Simulation studies have been performed to demonstrate the efficiency of the proposed scheme and an effect of different parameters on its accuracy on the basis of actual data obtained at distribution system substations.
