Opis:
In this paper we describe a new measure of remoteness between sets described by nominal values. The introduced measures of perturbation of one set by another are considered instead of commonly used distance between two sets. The operations of the set theory are operated and the considered measures describe changes of the perturbed second set by adding the first one or vice versa. The values of the measure of sets’ perturbation are range between 0 and 1, and in general, are not symmetric – it means that the perturbation of one set by another is not the same as the perturbation of the second set by the first one.

We investigate eigenvalue perturbations for a class of infinite tridiagonal matrices which define unbounded self-adjoint operators with discrete spectrum. In particular we obtain explicit estimates for the convergence radius of the perturbation series and error estimates for the Quantum Rabi Model including the resonance case. We also give expressions for coefficients near resonance in order to evaluate the quality of the rotating wave approximation due to Jaynes and Cummings. .

The problem of finding a robust spanning tree has been analysed. The problem consists of determining a minimum spanning tree of a graph with uncertain edge costs. We should determine a spanning tree that minimizes the difference in costs between the tree selected and the optimal tree. While doing this, all possible realizations of the edge costs should be taken into account. This issue belongs to the class of NP-hard problems. In this paper, an algorithm based on the cost perturbation method and adapted to the analysed problem has been proposed. The paper also contains the results of numerical experiments testing the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm and compares it with algorithms known in the literature. The research is based on a large number of various test examples taken from the literature.

Let ℬ be a Banach algebra of bounded linear operators on a Banach space X. Let S be a closed linear operator in X, and let R be a linear operator in X. In this paper the spectral and Fredholm theory relative to ℬ of the perturbed operator S + R is developed. In particular, the situation where R is S-inessential relative to ℬ is studied. Several examples are given to illustrate the usefulness of these concepts.

For general boundary control systems in factor form some necessary and sufficient conditions for generation of an analytic exponentially stable semigroup are proposed in both direct and perturbation forms for comparison. The direct approach is applicable to operators with the numerical range satisfying certain additional conditions. In particular, it applies to operators similar to convexoids and therefore it generalizes previous results known for hyponormal operators. The perturbation result (indirect approach) is derived and formulated as an exponential stability robustness result using the frequence-domain considerations. It is expressed in terms of some estimates of the resolvent growth over the open right complex half-plane and compared with some recent results. The analysis is illustrated in detail with examples of an unloaded and loaded electric RC-transmission line with proportional negative feedback.

In this study, an attempt was made to assess the impact of the most popular perturbation movements (i.e. Multiple-Swap(2-2), Multiple-Shift(2-2) and Multiple-K-Shift(1)), as well as the number of their calls on the quality of solutions and the time in which Swap(2-1) heuristics returns them. For this purpose, the iterative local search algorithm (ILS) was triggered, in which Swap(2-1) heuristics has cooperated with a single perturbation mechanism. The number of perturbations was changed in the range from 1 to 30. Each time the time and the difference between the percentage improvement of the objective function value of the solution obtained utilizing the Swap(2-1) algorithm cooperating with the perturbation mechanism and this algorithm working alone was checked. Based on the results obtained, it was found that the overall level of improvement in the quality of the returned solution is similar when using all of the considered perturbation mechanisms (is in the range of 2.49% to 4.02%). It has been observed that increasing the number of initiated perturbations does not guarantee an improvement in the quality of the returned solution. Perturbation movements similar to the motion initiated by the local search algorithm do not significantly improve the solution (they only entail extending the duration of action). The structure of the study has the following form. The Introduction chapter provides information on the Vehicle Routing Problem. The chapter Research methods contain a description of ILS and Swap(2-1) approaches and perturbation mechanisms considered. The last two chapters include the results of tests and conclusions.

This paper investigates the robust soft variable structure (RSVS) control technique for perturbed singular systems with constrained input control. The aim of the RSVS control law, in addition to achieving desirable control performance for the constrained input, is the robust stability of the closed-loop system in the presence of perturbation. In this paper, the RSVS control for perturbed singular systems is designed for two cases. First, it is assumed that the perturbation term vanishes at the origin. In this case, the proposed RSVS controller leads to asymptotic stabilization of the perturbed singular system. In the second case, the perturbed singular systems with non-vanishing perturbation are considered and the robustness of RSVS is also investigated. In this situation, the proposed controller guarantees practical stability of the perturbed singular system. Finally, computer simulations are provided for two examples to verify the theoretical results.
