Opis:: In this paper, the robust H∞ control problem is considered for uncertain neutral systems with discrete and distributed tirne delays. Some sumcient conditions on H∞, robust performance analysis are obtained in terms of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs) by using a descriptor model transformation of the system and by applying Park's inequality for bounding cross terms. Based on these conditions the state-feedback H∞ controller is designed. Numerical examples are included to illustrate the proposed method.

Opis:: The effect of application of attapulgite on the structure and composition of a dynamic membrane (DM) of a bioreactor was investigated by means of the electron microscopy, polymerase chain reaction (PCR) and denaturing gradient gel electrophoresis (DGGE). A significant increase of microbial floc size in the bioreactors upon attapulgite application was observed. The content of cake layer in the hybrid dynamic membrane (HDM) and in the dynamic membrane (DM) in the corresponding bioreactor systems were 44.73 g/m2 and 38.12 g/m2 respectively, while the contents of mineral – 6.09 g/m2 and 5.34 g/m2, respectively. Further, with addition of attapulgite, the concentration of extracellular polymeric substances (EPS) in the HDM bioreactor system decreased, whereas the content of suspended particulate matter increased. Self-DM has a porous structure with high porosity. Mineral sub-stance, including O, Ka, Ca, P, S, Cl, Mg and Si, are the main elements in DM, but the main elements content exhibited an increase trend in DM with attapulgite administration. These results showed a positive correlation between the quantity of bacterial populations and biological removal improvement, which indicated that application of attapulgite could optimize the structure of self-DM in bioreactors.

Opis:: An updated reconstruction of the body plan, functional morphology and lifestyle of the arthropod Isoxys curvirostratusis proposed, based on new fossil specimens with preserved soft anatomy found in several localities of the Lower Cambrian Chengjiang Lagerstätte. The animal was 2–4 cm long and mostly encased in a single carapace which is folded dorsally without an articulated hinge. The attachment of the body to the exoskeleton was probably cephalic and apparently lacked any well−developed adductor muscle system. Large stalked eyes with the eye sphere consisting of two layers (as corneal and rhabdomeric structures) protrude beyond the anterior margin of the carapace. This feature, together with a pair of frontal appendages with five podomeres that each bear a stout spiny outgrowth, suggests it was raptorial. The following 14 pairs of limbs are biramous and uniform in shape. The slim endopod is composed of more than 7 podomeres without terminal claw and the paddle shaped exopod is fringed with at least 17 imbricated gill lamellae along its posterior margin. The design of exopod in association with the inner vascular (respiratory) surface of the carapace indicates I. curvirostratus was an active swimmer. Morphological comparisons demonstrate that species of Isoxys were diverse in feeding habits and occupied a very broad morphospace, i.e., carapace bivalved or a single shield, the pre−oral limbs antenniform or modified into great appendages, the succeeding endopods slim or stout. This casts doubt on the current taxonomy that assigns all species to a single genus, and on any presumed lifestyle of Isoxys extrapolated to the generic level. Finally, since I. curvirostratus and I. acutangulus carry a pair of great appendages, Isoxys has recently been placed into the great appendage arthropods. Such placement might be inadequate because the homology of the great appendages can not be established.

Opis:: The main purpose of present paper aims at the establishment of a numerical model for solving the nonlinear water wave problems. The model is based on the Navier-Stokes equations with the consideration of a free-surface through the streamfunction-vorticity formulation. The main advantage of the streamfunction-vorticity formulation is that pressure field can be eliminated from the Navier-Stokes equations. To demonstrate the model feasibility, the present studies are first concentrated on problems including the collision of two solitary waves with different amplitudes, and the overtaking collision of two solitary waves. Then, the model is also applied to a solitary wave passes over the submerged obstacle in a viscous fluid. Finally, the application of present study is also to simulate the generation of solitary waves by underwater moving object. All examples give very promising results, those applications reveal that present formulation is a very powerful approach to simulate the fully nonlinear water wave problems.

Opis:: In the acoustic fatigue experiment for hypersonic vehicle in simulated harsh service environment on ground, acoustic loads on the surface of test pieces of the vehicle need to be measured. However, for the normal microphones without high temperature resistance ability, the near field sound measurement cannot be achieved. In this work, on the basis of previous researches, an acoustic tubes array is designed to achieve the near field measurement of acoustic loads on the surface of the test piece in the supersonic airflow with high temperature achieved by coherent jet oxygen lance. Firstly, the process of designing this acoustic tubes array is introduced. Secondly, the equality of phase differences at the front and at the end of the tubes is stated and proved using a phase differences test with an acoustic tubes array whose design is presented in this text; therefore, the phase differences of signals acquired by microphones can be directly applied to beamforming algorithm to determine the acoustic load source. Finally, using above mentioned acoustic tubes array, measurement of acoustic load, with and without a test piece in the supersonic airflow made by the coherent jet oxygen lance, is conducted respectively, and the measurements results are analyzed.

Opis:: Focusing properties of the radially polarized Bessel–Gauss beam with a sine-azimuthal variation wavefront was investigated by the vector diffraction theory. The wavefront distribution is the sine function of the azimuthal angle with one phase parameter that indicates the phase change frequency. Results show that the focal pattern can be altered by the phase parameter, and many novel focal patterns may occur, such as multiple dark-foci focal pattern, crescent shape, and wheel shape. For case of a higher phase beam, the whole focal pattern turns on a symmetric wheel shape with multiple reduplicate intensity elements. When the phase parameter is an odd number, the number of reduplicate elements equals the phase parameter, while when the phase parameter is an even number, the number of reduplicate elements is two times the phase parameter. In addition, the effect of the phase parameter on the focal pattern is more considerable than that of the beam parameter under low numerical aperture. Under higher numerical aperture, the effect of the beam parameter on the focal pattern gets stronger.

Opis:: Based on a three-year field experiment under controlled condition in Ji’nan, China, the effects of peanut growth on the variation in the abundance and community structure of ammonia oxidizing bacteria (AOB) and archaea (AOA) before and after peanut growth were investigated through quantitative PCR and cluster analysis of terminal-restriction fragment length polymorphism. Our results show that the community composition of AOA and AOB was greatly affected by the peanut growth leading to the decreased abundance of AOA and increased abundance of AOB. Furthermore, AOA and AOB community structures varied before and after peanut growth. Phylogenetic analysis indicated that all AOA and AOB community sequences were clustered into the uncultured group. Altogether, the results suggested that the abundance of AOA and AOB in soil and their community compositions can be greatly affected by the peanut growth.

Opis:: The recovery of aluminum from water purification sludge is usually performed by making the solution acidic or basic. However, for economic reasons and reasons of safety, excessive doses of acid or base should not be utilized. Accordingly, the aluminum concentration in the leached solution is typically limited, thus the recovered aluminum cannot be directly reused as a coagulant. A nanofiltration (NF) membrane can be used in the acidic solution to concentrate high-valence metal ions. There-fore, in this work, H2SO4 was utilized to leach Al3+ ions from water purification sludge. Then, the Al3+ ion solution was concentrated using a low-price NF membrane. The effect of natural organic matter on the Al3+ ion concentrating efficiency in the filtration process has been elucidated. Experimental results reveal that Al3+ ions were effectively prevented from passing through the NF membrane, enabling a highly concentrated aluminum solution to be obtained. However, the presence of organic compounds may reduce the efficiency of the concentration of Al3+ ions in the solution.
