Opis:
The main objective of CERGOP-2/Environment Work Package was defined in the Project as "Monitoring the CEGRN by regular and systematic GPS measurement, satisfying the strict quality standards set by WP2". The main task in the course of the Project was the organization of the CEGRN epoch observation campaigns. Therefore the activies focused on the preparation and the careful realization of these measurements. Two CEGRN campaigns were carried out- CEGRN03 and CEGRN05 - in the same part of the year (in June) in order to minimize seasonal effects in the measurements. In both cases the CEGRN campaigns were overlanned with national campaigns (e.g. in Hungary the HGRN epoch campaigns) by which the scope and efficiency of data availability were greatly enhanced. An other task was to monitor the status of CEGRN. Due to the project support 25 new sites became part of CEGRN, Serbia as a new CEGRN Consortium member (not included in the Project) joined the campaigns in 2005 the first time.

Opis:
Central Europe Regional Geodynamic Project (CERGOP) in Slovenia includes GPS measurements on 5 sites. Within the first part of the project during years 1994-1997, measurements were performed on one site (Ljubljana), and during the CERGOP-2 extension in years 1999-2005 additional 4 sites were added (Božica, Malija, Snežnik and Mrzlica). However, till now measurements on the three sites only (Ljubljana, Božica and Malija) have been completed. Obtained data show similar sense and amount of horizontal displacements. They exhibit general northward movement of sites at the average velocity of 3 mm/yr. This is in accordance with results obtained from other sites of cirkum-Adriatic region, and it confirms the northward movement of the Adriatic microplate towards the “stable” Eurasian plate. In Slovenia, a northward oriented δ1 tensor have been also obtained from several tens of earthquake fault plane solution. Slight defferences in sense and velocity of displacements among particular sites could be explained by the influence of local structures. In Slovenia, they belong to the Periadriatic dextral shear zone, to the Dinaric dextral shear zone, and to the Transdanubian sinistral shear zone. However, the real dynamics of particular structures, among which some also express co-seismic creep, will be possible to determine only by GPS measurements over a denser network of sites.

Opis:
The project "CERGOP-2, a multipurpose and interdisciplinary sensor array for environmental research in Central Europe" was approved by EU within the 5th Framework Program and started April 1st, 2003. The official and of the project is March 31, 2006. However we applied for a prolongation of another 6 months and we are waiting for a relevant decision of EU. In 17 work packages we extented a high quality GPS network in a region covering about 15 % of Europe. It will be operational for the next decade. Velocity field and strain maps for geodynamical investigations and hazard mitigation, data for climate research and weather forecast, data for real time navigation and a seamless data bank for scientific and public access were established. This report gives a final summary of the project was arranged in Sarajevo, Bosnia Herzegovina ( in November 2005), which included a Governing Board Meeting of the CEGRN Consortium (CCGB). Discussions included site quality issues related to site acceptance for CEGRN - the basic reference network, and an open forum on future potential project initiatives. The ADRIA, the GMES (Global Monitoring for Environment and Security), the GEO (Group on Earth Observation), the GALILEO, WEGENER and TOPO EUROPE topical project areas were identified, where the Consortium could participate/contribute significantly. Candidate coordinators were assigned for each area. We have also to think about the continuation of this project - after its termination end of March 2006 or end of September 2006. Driven by the many natural disaster during the last 2 years people expect that science will strengthen its efforts to find solutions for explaining the influence of the forces leading to crust displacement and to determine the location, magnitude and the "date" of future expected sudden displacements, a task, which may take another century of scientific investigations, if even possible.

Opis:
ASI/CGS contribution to CERGOP II project covered the following topics: landslide monitoring, production and quality check of zenith total delays estimated for a global as well as regional GPS networks devoted to meteorology applications, RTK and navigation tests, critical analysis of GPS long time series helpful for geodynamic as well atmospheric investigations. For what concern the landslides monitoring the two sites under investigation: Aliano and Avigliano are located in Basilicata region, (South of Italy). These sites are affected by a dramatic creep of the ground which in the past was the cause of severe damages to the buildings and roads in the areas. We will show the state of art of the activities comparing GPS with Perrnanent Scatter IN-SAR technique For what concern the routine production of ZTD we will show a critical comparisons of our solutions with radio balloon observations and a discussion about the assessment of their reliability. Finally the results of a navigation experiment by using differential correction provided by EUREF-NTRIP service will be shown.
