Opis:
In this paper operating analysis of DC–DC converter is presented. Silicon Carbide based DC–DC converter is investigated. SiC power switches (i.e. MOSFETs and diodes) were used. Synchronous buck topology is applied for converter structure. The DC–DC converter mathematical model is also presented. The parameters of LC circuit were calculated using shown equations. Working conditions determine the values of output LC circuit (inductance and capacitance). Real power semiconductors are equipped in output and input capacitances. This feature may influence the generated input signal. Parasitic capacitances and inductances of the paths causes oscillations and voltage overshoots of the input PWM signal. To avoid such phenomenon, it is necessary to use a snubber circuit. This issue is also presented. The analysis of working conditions is presented for different switching frequencies. The size of passive components (LC) is compared for different operating points. Experimental tests results were presented. Waveforms of voltage and current signals were also shown.

Opis:
The paper presents an in-depth analysis of the power losses in the windings and the cores of two different transformers as applied to a phase-shifted full bridge (PSFB) converter at the power level of 20–25 kW and the switching frequency of 50 kHz. The main difference in the construction of the considered devices was the method of winding realization as well as the shape and material of the cores. The influence of the winding geometry on the conduction losses was analyzed, and the losses in the cores were analytically estimated, taking into account the operating conditions of these elements in the full-bridge system with phase-shift modulation. Original resistive models of windings made of cooper sheets are presented. The obtained results were verified by experimental tests carried out in an isolated full-bridge DC/DC converter.

Opis:
This paper describes LabVIEW based integrated measurement system to determine key parameters of DC-DC converters working in low-voltage photovoltaic (PV) systems. DC-DC converter should demonstrate high efficiency of energy conversion as well as sufficient voltage gain to yield as much energy from PV panel as it is possible. Efficiency and voltage gain can be measured across the number of parameters such as input voltage, output load, frequency and duty cycle of converter driving signals. The LabVIEW application works with both Hioki 8855 data recorder which carries out power measurements and a microcontroller Digital Driver who drives a converter tested. Measurement system allows to automate time consuming measurements as well as experimentally verify DC-DC converter design assumptions. The laboratory test results of selected DC-DC converter prototype as well as sources of error has been discussed in this paper.

Opis:
In this paper a design process of snubber circuit for DC\DC converter is presented. Computer simulation and experimental tests were carried out. Due to the presence of parasitic LC (inductance and capacitance) circuit in the power stage, it is necessary to use an additional snubber circuit for voltage overshoot and oscillations reduction. A simulation model of the converter with parasitic circuit was designed. Six topologies of snubber circuits (C, single C, RC, single RC, RCD, single RCD) were investigated in simulation tests. Simulation model of the proposed system has been investigated in Matlab/Simulink/PLECS environment. Input signal parameters like voltage overshoot, rise time, fall time were compared for considered snubber circuits. Experimental tests were carried out for the best simulation results. It confirm the proper choice of snubber circuit.

Opis:
The majority of renewable energy sources deliver relatively low output voltage. In renewable energy systems high-efficiency high voltage gain step-up DC-DC converters are required as the interface between low voltage sources and the load. Therefore overall performance of the renewable energy system is strongly affected by the efficiency of step-up DC-DC converter itself. This paper presents high-efficiency interleaved step-up DC-DC converter with coupled inductors. Interleaved approach minimizes the current stress of the switches as well as the a sizes of the inductors but also allows reducing input current ripples. The other advantage of interleaving structure is the flexibility of number of phases extension. The number of working phases can be determined depending on the power requirements of the load. High efficiency is achieved by recycling the energy from leakage inductance present in practical coupled inductors. In order to re-use leakage energy voltage clamp circuit is applied. It allows to minimize voltage stress across the switches further improving the efficiency of interleaved DC-DC converter. The simulation carried out will present parametric and performance characteristics of the converter. Most efficient configuration and the number of phases will be discussed in this paper.

Opis:
The research for novel power conversion topologies and the development of cutting-edge power component technologies are driven by the demand for renewable and much more efficient electricity generation, delivery, and conversion. Simulation and Analysis High Voltage Gain DC-DC Converter with Double Voltage Booster Switched Inductor for PV Applications are analyzed in this paper. Multilevel boost converter topologies recently reintroduced, are gaining popularity as a solution for industrial and transportation power systems because they enable the use of innovative, efficient, but relatively low voltage low-voltage devices at greater voltage and power levels. there is only one power switch on the converter that is planned here, three diodes, two capacitors, and two inductors to achieve ultra-high gain with better efficiency. High voltage gain, minimal switch stress, and the ability to lessen input-current ripple and capacitor voltage ripple are all benefits of the topology. When it switches complementary, the capacitors' ripple is reduced, which lowers the size requirement for the capacitors. A 12V, 500 watts prototype was analyzed, simulated and designed. at a duty cycle of 0.75 it is achieved high DC-DC gain i.e 19 and efficiency 93%. The practicality of the converter will be demonstrated by the close agreement between the analysis and simulation findings.

In the paper, several concepts for supply system for LED flashlight are discussed. The aim of proposed solutions is to optimize energy consumption and thereby lengthen the time of operation without battery changes. Most popular methods of LED supply are presented and discussed, as direct supply current control and current pulse width modulation. Two circuit for LED flashlight are presented. First is based on MCP1640 integrated DC-DC converter. The circuit printed board is intended to be installed in the battery container of LED flashlight in a place of one of three batteries. Two batteries that left are sufficient to supply the flashlight. The second circuit contains DC-DC integrated converter MAX1796 and PWM current control circuit that allows to control LED intensity of light. The circuit could be powered with one 1,5 V battery and its small dimensions allow to build it into flashlight casing. Both solutions were tested and proved their usefulness. They allow to reduce battery power consumption and extend working hours and reduce costs.
