Opis:: We study topological properties of Valdivia compact spaces. We prove in particular that a compact Hausdorff space K is Corson provided each continuous image of K is a Valdivia compactum. This answers a question of M. Valdivia (1997). We also prove that the class of Valdivia compacta is stable with respect to arbitrary products and we give a generalization of the fact that Corson compacta are angelic.

Opis:: In this paper, we introduce new axioms using the concepts of the countability axioms via dense sets, namely dense countability axioms and they are denoted by D-countability axioms, where a topological space is called D-sequential (D-separable, D-first countable, D-Lindelöf, D--compact or D-second countable) space if it has a dense sequential (separable, first countable, Lindelöf, -compact or second countable) subspace. We prove that D-separable spaces and D-second countable spaces are equivalent to separable spaces. Moreover, we study some properties of D-countability axioms; as their subspaces and their continuous images. In addition, we provide some inter-relations between D-countability axioms and countability axioms through some examples.

Opis:: In this article, we use the concept of regular open sets to define a generalization of the countability axioms; namely regular countability axioms, and they are denoted by r-countability axioms. This class of axioms includes r-separable spaces, r-first countable spaces, r-Lindelöf spaces, r--compact spaces and r-second countable spaces. We investigate their fundamental properties, and study the implication of the new axioms among themselves and with the known axioms. Moreover, we study the hereditary properties for r-countability axioms, also we consider some related functions in terms of r-open sets, which preserve these spaces. Finally, we prove that in regular space r-countability axioms and countability axioms are equivalent, while in locally compact T_2 space, the spaces: Lindelöf, r- Lindelöf, -compact and r--compact are all equivalent.

Opis:: Let A be a C*-algebra. We prove that every absolutely summing operator from A into $ℓ_2$ factors through a Hilbert space operator that belongs to the 4-Schatten-von Neumann class. We also provide finite-dimensional examples that show that one cannot replace the 4-Schatten-von Neumann class by the p-Schatten-von Neumann class for any p < 4. As an application, we show that there exists a modulus of capacity ε → N(ε) so that if A is a C*-algebra and $T ∈ Π_1(A,ℓ_2)$ with $π_1(T) ≤ 1$, then for every ε >0, the ε-capacity of the image of the unit ball of A under T does not exceed N(ε). This answers positively a question raised by Pełczyński.

Opis:: We are interested in a topological realization of a family of pseudoreflection groups $G ⊂ GL(n,{\sym F}_p )$; i.e. we are looking for topological spaces whose mod-p cohomology is isomorphic to the ring of invariants ${\sym F}_p [x_1,..., x_n]^G$. Spaces of this type give partial answers to a problem of Steenrod, namely which polynomial algebras over ${\sym F}_p $ can appear as the mod-p cohomology of a space. The family under consideration is given by pseudoreflection groups which are subgroups of the wreath product $ℤ/q ≀Σ_n$ where q divides p - 1 and where p is odd. Let G be such a subgroup acting on the polynomial algebra $A:= {\sym F}_p [x_1,..., x_n]$. We show that there exists a space X such that $H*(X;{\sym F}_p )≅ A^G$ which is again a polynomial algebra. Examples of polynomial algebras of this form are given by the mod-p cohomology of the classifying spaces of special orthogonal groups or of symplectic groups. The construction uses products of classifying spaces of unitary groups as building blocks which are glued together via information encoded in a full subcategory of the orbit category of the group G. Using this construction we also show that the homotopy type of the p-adic completion of these spaces is completely determined by the mod-p cohomology considered as an algebra over the Steenrod algebra. Moreover, we calculate the set of homotopy classes of self maps of the completed spaces.

Opis:: The installation to the collection and transport of gas in case of the evil conventional occupies a great many places. When we are meeting variable factors in time e.g. with the efficiency this we are in a position to propose installations smaller and divided into modules which in case of the reduction of the quantity of extracted gas would be able to to be deducted in the easy way or augmented of the existing installation. Economic aspects engaged searches of more effective installations to the cleaning and the drainage of gas. Already from the early 90s of the 20th century, the oil industry sacrificed many attention to methods of the separation. This permitted the discovery of such separators as Gas/Liquid Cylindrical-Cyclone (GLCC). In comparison with conventional, compact separators are easy in the installation and the service, require the small maintenance. The simplicity of the construction, smaller measurements and the balance GLCC provides savings of costs. In the paper authors will review solutions of compact separators and also the preliminary adaptation and the definition of measurements for given parameters of technological exploited of natural gas reservoirs.

Opis:: The aim of the paper is twofold. First, the available results of finding the effective macroscopic elastic moduli of a compact bone by using homogenization are surveyed. Secondly, it is shown that the proper framework for studying such organic materials with hierarchical microstructure is that of reiterated homogenization. T-convergance theory is applied to obtain the general formulae for the effective elastic moduli of a material with three structural levels.
Cel pracy jest dwojaki: po pierwsze, przedstawiono podsumowanie dotychczasowych badań dotyczących wyznaczania współczynników sprężystości kości zbitej przy zastosowaniu metod homogenizacji. Po drugie, wykazano, że homogenizacja reiterowana stanowi odpowiednie narzędzie do badania takich materiałów organicznych o hierarchicznej mikrostrukturze. Zastosowano teorię T-zbieżności do wyprowadzenia ogólnych zależności opisujących efektywne współczynniki sprężyste materiału o trzech poziomach strukturalnych.
