Opis:: The Augustów Forest is one of the biggest forest complex in Poland. In this paper, 13 rare species of lichens from Augustów Forest are presented. Four of these species are new to Augustów Forest: Bacidina egenula, Lecanora persimilis, Rhizocarpon reductum, Scoliciosporum pruinosum and one species, Rhizocarpon hochstetteri, is new to northeastern Poland. Short notes on their features and distributions are provided.

Opis:: A revised lichen catalog for Georgia, the South Caucasus, the second after 1986, is presented here. It is based on a literature survey and recent study of herbarium material. The list includes 713 species of lichens and nine species of nonlichenized fungi traditionally treated by lichenologists. As a basis for the present catalog, 106 literature sources reporting the first findings of the listed taxa in floristic regions of Georgia were used. The accepted taxa in bold are followed by references from the literature, if applicable, as well as references from herbarium specimens seen by us at local and several foreign herbaria. Specimens of the 547 of the 722 reported species are stored in the local herbaria: 542 at the National Herbarium of Georgia, the Institute of Botany, Ilia State University, Tbilisi (TBI), and 94 in the Herbarium of the State Museum of Georgia, Tbilisi (TGM). In each literature citation and herbarium code, the occurrence of respective species in Georgia's floristic regions is given. In addition, a short historical background and comprehensive bibliography are provided.

Opis:: The material was collected during studies of the vegetation of Kaffiøyra in the course of „Thirteenth Toruń Polar Expedition, Spitsbergen - 1997” of N. Copernici University of Toruń. The studied areas were situated only on moraines, some mountain massif slopes, and all terraces. Samples of lichens were taken from 24 out of 61 total squares with an area of 1 km2. In the study area, 12 taxa of the genus Peltigera were noted, including nine new ones to the Kaffiøyra Plain, such as P. aphthosa, P. canina, P. didactyla, P. frippii, P. kristinssonii, P. lyngei, P. neckeri, P. polydactylon, P. ponojensis and three previously noted, such as P. leucophlebia, P. malacea, and P. rufescens. The most frequently recorded species in the study area were P. canina (9 localities), P. malacea (9), P. ponojensis (9) and P. rufescens (9). The greatest species diversity occurred on Waldemar Glacier Sander. As many as 10 species of Peltigera genus were recorded there. An average of five species per square were recorded in that region.

Opis:: Three noteworthy epilithic lichens species, Porpidia flavocruenta, P. thomsonii and Rhizocarpon cinereovirens, and two lichenicolous fungi, Cercidospora parva and Abrothallus aff. caerulescens were recently recorded in the Polish part of the Karkonosze Mountains. Cercidospora parva is reported from Poland for the first time. Abrothallus aff. caerulescens and Porpidia thomsonii are new for the Western Sudetes. Rhizocarpon cinereovirens has been rediscovered in the Karkonosze Mountains afer over a century. Porpidia flavocruenta is known in Poland only from the Karkonosze Mountains, it is reported here from a new substrate, hornfels. Descriptions, notes on similar species, habitat preferences, and distribution of each species are provided.

Opis:: The paper is based on field studies dealing with the lichen genus Cladonia Hill ex P. Browne (Cladoniaceae) carried out by the author in the region of Spitsbergen in 2002 as well as taxonomical work and revision of herbarium material, collected during several earlier Polish polar expeditions to this part of the Arctic. As the result not reported so far from the island species Cladonia stygia (Fr.) Ruoss, C. trassii Ahti, C. verticillata (Hoffm.) Schaer. have been determined. Besides, the presence of very rarely recorded taxa C. crispata var. cetrariiformis (Delise) Vain., C. merochlorophaea Asahina and Cladonia symphycarpia (Flörke) Fr. is confirmed and their new localities are given. Furthermore, the presence of C. coccifera s.str. is also substantiated.
