The aim of this paper is to present the bicriteria optimization model of a sandwich cylindrical panel under axial compression. The objective functions are the weight and panel deformability. The deformability is defined as the panel bending rigidity reciprocal, and it represents some qualitative measure of the panel deflections. the design variables are the thicknesses of the layers. The constrains include a stability condition, stress conditions, the validation of theoretical models, and finally, technological and constructional requirements. The problem was solved with the help of Pareto's concept of optimality, with continuous and discrete sets of the design variables. Results of numerical calculations are presented in the form of tables and diagrams. A comparison of the optimal parameters for the unilayer and the sandwich panels is presented.
W pracy sformułowano model dwukryterialnej optymalizacji cienkościennej trójwarstwowej paneli walcowej obciążonej osiowymi siłami ściskającymi. Kryteriami optymalizacyjnymi są masa paneli i jej podatność na odkształcenia. Podatność paneli, zdefiniowana jako odwrotność sztywności na zginanie, jest jakościową miarą odkszałcalności konstrukcji. Zmiennymi decyzyjnymi są grubości warstw paneli. Warunkami ograniczającymi są warunek stateczności, warunki wytrzymałościowe, warunek ważności stosowanych modeli teoretycznych oraz warunki technologiczno-konstrukcyjne. Zadanie rozwiązano w oparciu o koncepcję optimum Pareto, uwzględniając dyskretne i ciągłe zbiory zmiennych decyzyjnych. Wyniki obliczeń numerycznych przedstawione są w postaci tabel i wykresów. Porównano optymalne parametry paneli jedno- i trójwarstwowych.

Development of nautical tourism in Montenegro, seen as a potentially profitable industry segment has started twenty years ago. The first steps taken in this direction were defining the legal framework, in particular: Law on Coastal Zone, Tourism Master Plan of Montenegro, Law on Yachts, followed by establishment of supporting organizations - Maritime Safety Department of Montenegro, Port Authorities and Border Police Department. Having invested efforts in adoption of planning documents and enactment of legislation relating to nautical tourism in recent period, Montenegro is seeking to impose itself as an important nautical destination. The first serious step towards achieving this goal was construction of a world-class marina Porto Montenegro in Tivat in 2010. The Special Purpose Spatial Plan for Coastal Zone provides for development of network of marinas to be constructed on the Montenegrin Coast. In the light of this, contribution of this paper is reflected in application of multi-criteria optimization in defining an optimum order of marina construction. The paper defines selection of criterion functions from the aspects of ecology, economy, security, specific aspect and aspect of suitability assessment for the location. The paper also presents the process of defining different criterion weights. The multi-criteria analysis determines a compromise solution for marina planning at Montenegrin Coast, which reconciles conflicting interests. The compromise solution is only a proposal, while a final decision remains with a decision maker.

Cyclic scheduling concerns both kinds of questions following the deductive and inductive ways of reasoning. First class of problems concentrates on rules aimed at resources assignment as to minimize a given objective function, e.g. the cycle time, the flow time of a job. In turn, the second class focuses on a system structure designing as to guarantee the assumed qualitative and/or quantitative measures of objective functions can be achieved. The third class of problems can be seen, however as integration of earlier mentioned, i.e. treating design and scheduling or design and planning simultaneously. The complexity of these problems stems from the fact that system configuration must be determined for the purpose of processes scheduling, yet scheduling must be done to devise the system configuration. In that context, the contribution provides discussion of some Diophantine problems solubility issues, taking into.

In the paper a method is presented of the best variant selection of a manufacturing process of a rotor to open end spinning machine with use of original optimization proceeding based on adopted criteria, taking into consideration their importance. Unit manufacturing cost and five criteria of manufacturing quality were taken as criteria to the assessment. The assessment criteria resulted from calculations and measurements were normalized. Knowledge of experts was used to determine importance of the criteria taken to the assessment. Each from the experts had built his own importance matrix of the assessment criteria, comparable in pairs, using the Saaty’s method. The weights of individual criteria were determined on the basis of cumulative matrix. In the next stage of the proceeding, normalized decisions were created by raising each assessment to a power equal to corresponding weight. In the last stage of the proceeding, a single optimal ordering comprising the smallest s-th components of the individual decisions d1, d2, …, dm was created. A variant which corresponds to the largest component of the optimal ordering is assumed as the best variant.

In connection with the ongoing process of liberalization in the Polish electricity market, customer orientation and its needs are becoming an important competitive advantage of electricity trading companies. The aim of this article is an attempt to present and solve the problem of fitting baseload and peakload futures contracts to future planned energy demand as a multicriteria programming problem. Due to the large number of variables and nonsmooth criteria the Monte Carlo simulation was used to solve the problem. The model has been built to minimize price and imbalance volume between future planned demand and standard products able to purchase on the Polish commodity market. Due to future SPOT, the settlement simulation model requires future SPOT prices.

An iterative multicriteria closed-auction conducted with the use of a multi-agent computer-based system is analyzed. This system supports the submission of offers, multicriteria analysis carried out by the organizer of the auction, simulation, and analysis of the behavior of competing bidders. Analysis of incentive compatible decisions is the main subject of this research. A mathematical formulation of the decision making problem and selected results of a bidding session conducted using this system are presented and analyzed.

The main aim of the paper is to translate reliability problems to the knapsack optimization problem. The review of the known methods of multi-criteria optimization is done. Particularly, the SPEA algorithm is presented. Furthermore, the 0-1 knapsack problem solution by SPEA algorithm is introduced and used to the reliability optimization of exemplary parallel-series system.

The multicriteria decision process consists of five main steps: definition of the optimisation problem, determination of the weight structure of the decision criteria, design of the evaluation matrix, selection of the optimal evaluation method and ranking of solutions. It is often difficult to obtain the optimal solution to a multicriterion problem. The main reason is the subjective element of the model – the weight functions of the decision criteria. Expert opinions are usually taken into account in their determination. The aim of this article is to present a novel method of minimizing the uncertainty of the weights of the decision criteria using Monte Carlo simulation and method of data reconciliation. The proposed method is illustrated by the example of multicriterion social effectiveness evaluation for electric power supply to a building using renewable energy sources.

Decision support and trading systems for the forex market mostly derive a single signal for the decision-maker. This is so, because instruments are evaluated based on a single criterion, which creates a ranking of instruments, from which the best one is selected. At the same time, one can observe a lack of tools al- lowing one to derive the set of non-dominated trading opportunities considered in the multicriteria space. This article focuses on multicriteria analysis, in which several different market indicators describe a single instrument on the forex market (currency pair), leading to definite criteria. Thus, for a given time horizon, we consider a set of currency pairs described by a group of technical market indicators in every trading session. However, instead of deriving crisp information, based on the buy-no buy binary logic, we use concepts from the fuzzy sets theory, in which each criterion for a single variant takes a value from the h0, 1i interval. We select only the non-dominated variants from such a set, which will be used as elements of the portfolio of currency pairs on the forex market. We test our idea on the real-world data covering more than ten years, several technical market indicators, and over twenty different currency pairs. The preliminary results show that the proposed idea can be treated as a promising concept for deriving a portfolio of currency pairs instead of focusing on only a single currency pair.
