W opracowaniu poruszono problematykę oprogramowania do badań symulacyjnych w energoelektronice. Przedstawiono przykłady jego zastosowania na zajęciach laboratoryjnych z napędów elektrycznych w Instytucie Nauk Technicznych Państwowej Wyższej Szkoły Wschodnioeuropejskiej w Przemyślu. Wskazano aspekty dydaktyczne projektowania i badania przekształtników energoelektronicznych z wykorzystaniem środowisk symulacyjnych oraz zasady prowadzenia ćwiczeń laboratoryjnych.
This paper deals with the problem of simulation studies software used in power electronics. It discusses examplary uses of such software in electric drives lab classes in The East European State Higher School in Przemyśl (PWSW). The thesis touches upon didactic aspects of designing and researching power electronic converters using simulation environments, and explains rules for conducting lab classes.

Opis:
This paper describes a control circuit for the active power filters working with three-phase AC power line. It describes logic circuitries as well as laboratory test results. The control circuit was realized with programmable logic devices, fast analog-to-digital and digital-to-analog converters. Proposed system working with open-loop control, it allows significantly simplifying its logic structure. Programmable logic devices do simultaneously a few independent tasks, so a control algorithm can be performing fast, improving considerably compensation dynamic. This paper includes results of laboratory tests of the active power filter consisted of proposed control circuit and a voltage-source converter.

Energoelektronika jest jednym z ważniejszych przedmiotów, których uczą się przyszli inżynierowie elektrycy. Wymaga on od studentów znajomości różnych dziedzin techniki. Przedmiot ten w zakresie praktycznym charakteryzuje się dużymi wymaganiami odnośnie do zapewnienia właściwych warunków nauczania, wysokimi kosztami realizacji, drogim i specjalistycznym sprzę-tem laboratoryjnym. Ze względu na przedstawione problemy w nauczaniu złożonych układów energoelektronicznych wymaga się stosowania badań symulacyjnych. Nie każdy program symulacyjny, zwłaszcza stosowany wcześniej w elektronice, można wykorzystać w energoelektronice. W opracowaniu pokazano przykłady praktycznego wykorzystania badań symulacyjnych oraz korzyści i ograniczenia, jakie niosą one ze sobą.
The power electronics is one of the most important subjects for future electrical engineers. It is a difficult subject requiring from students the knowledge of: circuit theory, electronics, energy, electric drive and control theory. The complex systems of power electronics require simulation studies in the teaching process. Not every simulation program, previously used in electronics, can be used in power electronics. One of the recommended programs is the PSIM, which includes interface library tailored to the needs of the user and power electronics. The paper presents exam-ples of practical use of the simulation program and the benefits and limitations eventuate from its use.

In the article a new type of the C-dump converter type was presented, it was intended to supply switched reluctance drives, which is a modification of the configuration introduced in [1]. A structure and a principle of its working were discussed. In this construction independent supplying sections for each motor phase were used. Differences in construction and working both of the configurations and their influence on efficiency of the drive were discussed. Model results of simulation calculations of electromagnetic torque and phase current waveforms were presented. Applying the new system caused the increase in the efficiency of the drive.

This article gives a tutorial overview of the most important issues related to the use of power electronic systems in power engineering, with respect to the urgent need for modernization of existing grids in the direction of intelligent networks. The main problems and conditions bound up with the construction of Smart Grids and the location, as well as functioning in them of the most important power electronic systems are presented here. Special attention is directed therein to the potential possibilities of so-called ‘smart’ transformers and V2G and V2H technologies.

Permanent magnet motors are more and more frequently used in various applications. In this group motors with a trapezoidal EMF deserve a special attention. They are characterized by a simple construction, high efficiency and high torque overload. A certain drawback of BLDC motors are difficulties with an operation at a speed above the nominal value. The article presents the results of investigations into the variablestructure electronic commutator designed for the drive of a small electric vehicle equipped with BLDC motors. Such a solution allows extending the standard range of the drive's speed. The considerations contained in the article focus on the possibilities and effects of regeneration mode in the proposed topology of converter. A theoretical analysis has been presented as well as computer simulations carried out by means of Matlab- Simulink, which were then verified at a laboratory. The tests were finished with trias conducted using a small electric vehicle Elipsa.

Gapped magnetic components are inherent to applications where conversion of power would force magnetic flux density beyond the saturation point of magnetic materials. A physical discontinuity in a magnetic path, which an air gap represents, signifies a drastic change in its reluctance to magnetic flux. This gives rise to a phenomenon referred to as the fringing effect, which impacts the performance of magnetic components. The fringing flux also affects the physical properties of magnetic components, such as magnetic reluctance and inductance. Since inductance of gapped magnetic components is a function of the size of the air gap, a relatively simple change to the configuration of the air gap or splitting a single gap into a plurality of gaps entails, frequently, a radical change to the magnetic circuit of the component. This paper examines the way the air-gap configuration affects the distribution of the fringing flux and, by extension, magnetic reluctance and inductance. A method to aid the design of multigap inductors is presented based on 3-D electromagnetic modelling as well as measurements. An analytic expression, which closely approximates the required length of quasi-distributed gaps substituting a single gap, is developed.

It is common to find the inexpensive but robust electric power rectification method to lullil the demands of clean power conversion [1-12]. The Vienna rectifier structure [1] is one of the hopeful construction to fulfil these demands. It may be classified as the Clean Power Converter. It lets us obtain PFC rectification in simpler than the PWM converter system. The \ inina rectifier has three control points. In addition the Vienna rectifier is the three voltage level system with less current ripples than in the case of the PWM converter. However, it has some disadvantages. The Vienna rectifier system is an unidirectional converter. It can function onlv in the rectifier mode, the working in the inverter mode is impossible and the generation of the reactive power is strongly restricted. Usually the Vienna rectifier is controlled on the basis of the direct current control method [4,5,6]. However, this method is not perfect because it lets the improper control sequences appears. In this paper the mathematical model of the Vienna rectifier is derived. The voltage space vectors and their dependencies to the phase currents are denned. The range of the phase displacement angle and the maximum voltage space vector module v. phase displacement angle is drawn out for the case of the sinusoidal space vector modulation. The drawn out relations are proven by simulation results.

Opis:
The integration of passive components in printed circuit boards by using structured layers of different material leads to completely new technical challenges, both in technological realisations and in simulations or modelling of the embedded components. The integration of uiductive components is very interesting due to the substantial place reduction on the surface of the printed circuit board. In this context the shielding of the stray field of these inductive components leads to some new approaches in magnetic field calculation and simulation by planar structures. So in this paper the influence of FPC foils (Ferrite Polymer Compounds), m-metal and thin layers of copper on the magnetic field distribution and thus on the inductive coupling mechanisms in multilayers is analytically calculated and verified by some measurements. The presented results - measurement and simulation - lead to the final conclusion that the integration ofi-metal in comparison to FPC foils and thin layers of copper in the multilayer is one of the promising procedures for EMC-shielding.
