Opis:: The High Resolution Operational Model for the Baltic (HIROMB) consists of a leveled threedimensional primitive equation model, including one equation boundary layer dynamics and a viscous- plastic ice model. At SMHI it is driven by the High Resolution Limited Area meteorological Model (HIRLAM). and it has been running continuously in a pre-operational mode since October 1995. The quality assessment concentrates on the last year of the simulation from April 1997 to April 1998.

It outlines the regulatory requirements and standardization documents for the transport of dairy products. Using a questionnaire conducted it selects criteria that were directly used to assess the quality of the supply chain (network). Then, using the Pareto-Lorenz diagram the most important criteria were selected, which were also used in the study.

Opis:: Image quality assessment is a crucial task in various fields such as digital photography, online content creation, and automated quality control, as it ensures an optimal visual experience and aids in maintaining consistent standards. In this paper, we propose an efficient method for training image quality assessment models on the KonIQ-10ĸ dataset. Our novel approach utilizes a dual-Xception architecture that analyzes both the image content and additional image parameters, outperforming traditional single convolutional models. We introduce cross-sampling methods with random draw sampling of instances from majority classes, effectively enhancing prediction quality in the Mean Opinion Score(MOS) ranges that are underrepresented in the database. This methodology allows us to achieve near state-of-the-art results with limited computing costs and resources. Most importantly, our predictions across the entire spectrum of MOS values maintain consistent quality. Because of using a novel and highly effective method for image sampling, we achieved these results with much lower computational cost, making our approach the most effective way of MOS estimation on the KonIQ-10ĸ database.

Opis:: One of the ways of providing high internal software quality (that is a source code) is using design patterns. The article aims at presenting a suggested model which enables one to assess the quality of implementation of design patterns. The model assumes verification of different aspects of the patterns and a numeric expression of the obtained results. The analysis of the obtained results may show the occurrence of certain problems which are difficult to be identified during code review or testing.

Opis:: In October 2018, local digital radio was launched to cover the agglomeration of Wroclaw. The implementation of this undertaking required many tests, including qualitative ones, that refer to both music and speech. This paper presents the results of subjective tests based on the evaluation of speech quality of signals recorded at various points in Wroclaw. Measurements were carried out in accordance with the recommendations of the International Telecommunication Union as well as in ordinary acoustic conditions in listeners’ flats. The rating was made for male and female voices. The most important conclusion is that for speech signal assessment in meaning of the quality the test conditions do not influence the obtained results. The other fact confirmed in the experiment was that the receiving place of DAB+ signal in the Single-Frequency Network also does not affect the perceived voice quality.

Opis:: In literature, oriented filters are used for low-level vision tasks. In this paper, we propose use of steerable Gaussian filter in image quality assessment. Human visual system is more sensitive to multidirectional edges present in natural images. The most degradation in image quality is caused due to its edges. In this work, an edge based metric termed as steerable Gaussian filtering (SGF) quality index is proposed as objective measure for image quality assessment. The performance of the proposed technique is evaluated over multiple databases. The experimental result shows that proposed method is more reliable and outperform the conventional image quality assessment method.

Opis:: The key objective of no-reference (NR) visual metrics is to predict the end-user experience concerning remotely delivered video content. Rapidly increasing demand for easily accessible, high quality video material makes it crucial for service providers to test the user experience without the need for comparison with reference material. Nevertheless, the QoE measurement is not enough. The information about the source or error is very important as well. Therefore, the described system is based on calculating numerous different NR indicators, which are combined to provide the overall quality score. In this paper, more quality indicators than are used in the QoE calculation are described, since some of them detect specific errors. Such specific errors are dificult to include in a global QoE model but are important from the operation point of view.

Opis:: Transdisciplinarity has shaped the development of both conservation science and conservation-restoration. The history of conservation science demands the commitment of all involved specialists to follow a common vision in the field. The present article highlights some key lessons to assist in closing the gap between the promotion of high-level research projects and the development and assessment of proficient professional practice in conservation science and conservation-restoration. The necessary framework conditions should also be brought to the attention of responsible politicians. Reflecting on conservation theory and practice “at the turn of the millennium” I propose to take a closer look at interdisciplinary work devoted to maintenance of Cultural Heritage since the beginning of the 20th century.

Opis:: The assessment of surface water quality and technogenic loading on the separate regions of the North-Western Black Sea, namely the Mykolaiv region, was performed in this work. The water quality assessment was conducted using the graphical method that allows determining the suitability of water for the certain types of water using, as well as the method of calculating a water pollution combinatorial index. The estimation of the technogenic loading is based on calculating a technogenic loading module. It was found that the surface waters of the Mykolaiv region do not meet the requirements of fisheries in relation to most quality indicators. According to various standards, this surface water quality in this region is characterized by the “polluted” – “very dirty” categories. A reduction of the technogenic loading by the volume of wastewater discharges since 2006 can be determined. According to the pollutant discharge indicators, a steady decrease of the level of loading has been noted since 2005, which is caused by a reduction of wastewater discharges.
