Praca dotyczy dźwięków tworzonych przez zespół Cabaret Voltaire. W latach siedemdziesiątych, muzycy z Sheffield tworzyli abstrakcyjne kolaże dźwiękowe pod wpływem awangardowych teorii dźwięków. Zaprezentowali możliwości zastosowanych technik, co było dla nich bardziej interesujące od efektu w postaci gotowego utworu. Fascynowała ich fabryczna audiosfera ich rodzinnego miasta, dlatego też, w swoich utworach dążyli do umuzycznienia hałasu i szumu. Zastosowanie tych dźwięków pokazało, że z jednej strony fascynowali się postępem technologicznym, jednak z drugiej, ujawnili swoje obawy związane z postępującą dehumanizacją. Tym samym, dzięki antymuzycznemu podejściu do komponowania, Cabaret Voltaire utworzyli teoretycznopraktyczną podstawę dla muzyki industrialnej.
Thesis is about sounds created by Cabaret Voltaire. In the seventies, musicians from Sheffield started producing abstract sound collages under the influence of avant-garde sound theories. They were more interested in techniques, than in the effects in the form of a finished song. Because of their fascination of fabric soundscape of their mother city, they wanted to use noises as a musical sounds. Sonic experiments revealed their interests in technological progress, but at the same time, they presented their concerns about progressive dehumanization. Due anti-musial approach during composing, Cabaret Voltaire created theoretical and practical basis for industrial music. - Dostawca treści:
