Opis:
The Roman legislator regulated various sexual attitudes, according to him, morally reprehensible: fornication, adultery, prostitution, pedophilia, sodomy and homosexuality. Republican leges, and later imperial leges, concerned the problems connected with these phenomena. The Christian Roman emperors and Byzantine emperors paid particular attention to those problems. A significant extension of sources, necessary in the analysis of the problem, are the literal sources, and among them the Byzantine historiography of the 6th–12th centuries. The author focused on the issue of homosexuality in Justinian’s law. The analysis of the problem includes Byzantine historiography (Procopius of Caesarea, John Malalas, Theophane the Confessor, Simone Logoteta, Michael the Syrian, George Kedrenos, George Hamartolos, John Zonaras).
Rzymski prawodawca regulował różne, jego zdaniem naganne moralnie zachowania seksualne. Ingerencja prawodawcza odnosiła się do seksualności obywateli i pozostałych członków społeczeństwa. Leges republikańskie, a potem imperialne, dotyczyły problemów związanych ze zjawiskami nierządu, cudzołóstwa, prostytucji, pedofilii, sodomii i homoseksualizmu. Znaczącym rozszerzeniem źródeł niezbędnych w analizie problemu są źródła literackie, a wśród nich historiografia bizantyńska VI–XII w. Autorka skoncentrowała się na problemie homoseksualizmu w prawie Justyniana I. W analizie problemu zostały uwzględnione dzieła kronikarzy bizantyńskich: Prokopiusza z Cezarei, Jana Malalasa, św. Teofana Wyznawcy, Szymona Logotety, Michała Syryjczyka, Grzegorza Kedrena, Grzegorza Hamartola, Jana Zonarasa.

Self-regulation as a mediator and moderator between school stress and school well-being : a multilevel study

This study examines the relationship between school stress and school well-being, focusing on the mediating and moderating role of self-regulation. This cross-sectional study uses hierarchical linear modeling to assess how two aspects of school stress-perceived school stress at the individual level (students’ subjective appraisal of how stressful specific school demands are) and classroom stressor exposure at the group level (the aggregated frequency of stressful events occurring in each classroom) - are linked to student school well-being. The sample included 702 Polish primary school students (Grades 4, 6, and 8, approx. ages 10-15). Results indicate that while higher perceived school stress is associated with lower well-being, classroom-level stressor exposure also contributes to variations in student well-being. Self-regulation was positively associated with school well-being and partly accounted for the association between perceived stress and well-being. However, no significant moderating effect of self-regulation was found, suggesting that while self-regulation helps explain the link between stress and well-being, it does not necessarily attenuate the association between stress and well-being. These findings highlight the importance of both individual self-regulation skills and structural interventions aimed at reducing classroom stressors to promote student well-being.

Opis:
Surface functionalization of materials to improve their hemocompatibility is a challenging problem in the field of blood-contacting devices and implants. Polyelectrolyte multilayer films (PEMs), which can mimic functions and structure of an extracellular matrix (ECM), are a promising solution to the urgent need for functional blood-contacting coatings. The properties of PEMs can be easily tuned in order to provide a sca old with desired physico-chemical parameters. In this study chitosan/chondroitin sulfate (Chi/CS) polyelectrolyte multilayers were deposited on medical polyurethane. Afterwards PEMs were modified by chemical cross-linking and nanoparticles introduction. Coatings with variable properties were tested for their hemocompatibility in the cone-plate tester under dynamic conditions. The obtained results enable the understanding of how substrate properties modulate PEMs interaction with blood plasma proteins and the morphotic elements.
