- Stanisław Skrzeszewski while managing Polish education based his ideas on Henryk Rowid’s pedagogical thought. He got to know it while working at the National Pedagogium in Kraków. It was mostly visible after war and before the announcement of the battle with “right-nationalistic bias” in education in September 1948. In Stanisław Skrzeszewski’s understanding and according to his ideas a post-war man was supposed to be brought up for the needs of newly shaped reality which resulted from ideological and political assumptions of the communist party. Skrzeszewski differed in that matter from the headmaster of the Pedagogium. He also differed because while being a minister of education he supported the education of pedagogic secondary school teachers rather than in pedagogium. As far as the connection with Henryk Rowid’s ideas is concerned, one must remember about Skrzeszewski’s negative attitude towards people with whom he had worked before the war in the National Pedagogium in Kraków. The attitude was the result of ideological and political views of the colleagues.
