The situation of school children from alcoholic families
Autorzy:
Stankiewicz, Marta
Opis:
The topic of my study, is the situation of school children from alcoholic families. This scientific description is on how the alcoholics children work at school as students as well as school friends. In chapter 1 there are introduced both terminological and theoretical issues related to the families touched by alcoholism, the children’s school success and failure, their relations with peers and teachers, their sociometric standing in their classes and finally, about the ways of supporting such the pupils by school. The next part of the thesis indicates the methodology of my research. The main problem of my thesis is: What is the situation of school children from alcoholic families? In my research I used a questionnaire, the J.L. Moreno’s sociometric test and the modified by me T. M. Achenbach’s survey (elaborated by B. Urban). I questioned 42 alcoholics children in two Cracovian public primary schools. Sociometric research has been done on 242 students in 10 classes in which there are alcoholics children. The T. M. Achenbach’s questionnaire has been used to examin 10 form educators. As the effect of my research inquiry I must say, that most of alcoholics children work well as students. However, it’s not that optimistic on the area of their relations to the other children of the same age. More than half of students from families of alcoholic beverages causes great problems of education.
Achenbacha (w opracowaniu B. Urbana).

Opis:
The development of information technology, increase demand for mental work, shortening product life cycle and competing of the quality meant that knowledge is widely considered to be one of the most important resources of the organization. Taking into account activities related to the process of knowledge management (such as the acquisition of knowledge from the environment, identifying its in the organization, knowledge sharing) and their sources (internal and external stakeholders) can be noted that any knowledge management requires the involvement of employees. Based on the analysis of the employees engagement was found that managing knowledge should be supported by the affective commitment and focused on work organization and environment. They exhibit a specific behavior. Recognizing this problem for interesting the empirical research was carried out. Their goal was to identify the prevalence of involvement of employees in knowledge management and the desired employee behavior in the various activities of this processes. The study conducted among enterprises of Lubuskie province. The research used a survey method. It was found that the surveyed enterprises implement the activities related to knowledge management in a selective manner. In the light of the adopted criteria only one (out of 102) of the surveyed companies could be considered as knowledge management. It also seems that the attention is not focused on the creation of knowledge but its acquisition and protection. Taking into account the results of research on behavior conducive to knowledge management can be concluded that the climate for creativity exists at the level of teams but not the organization.

Opis:
A situation in which appears at the same time a competition and cooperation between the subjects is defined as a coopetition. First of all it is considered at the mezo level – between the companies, but it can be analysed at the micro level – inside the organization. In the second case, it concerns shaping the relations among the employers which compete one with another and at the same time they cooperate. Among the organizations where the coopetion can be analysed we distinguish two types - for profit and non profit. A difference of the functioning of the for profit and non profit organizations can be seen among other things in the differences that refer to the shape of the coopetition. In the article the characteristic of a intraorganizational coopetition in the for profit and non profit subjects was presented. The base to formulate the conclusions was formed by the investigations made in which, to collect the data there were used the semistructure interviews with six sample selected organizations – three for profit and three non profit.
W artykule dokonano omówienia charakteru koopetycji wewnątrzorganizacyjnej w podmiotach for-profit i non-profit. Podstawę do sformułowania wniosków stanowiły przeprowadzone badania, w których do zebrania danych posłużono się wywiadami częściowo ustrukturyzowanymi z sześcioma celowo dobranymi organizacjami – trzema for-profit i trzema non-profit.

Opis:
Obtaining a competitive advantage is primarily sought in innovation and the ability of the organization to flexible action. In both cases their engagement is especially important. The members of the organization rarely work independently of others, and mutualinteraction may enhance or limit the employees engagement. Shaping social interaction conductive to the employees engagement in the organization becomes interesting. The goal of the article is to formulate the assumptions of this issue. Three groups of factors which allow to consider the complexity of social interaction: direction and intensity, form and structure have been distinguished. Attention is paid to changes which affect the functioning of the organization at meso and micro level. It has been recognized that social interactions in contemporary organizations should be considered (1) as a complex process, which consists of three previously mentioned groups of factors, and (2) based on the orientation of reserves, assuming also that employees are a potential organization and become its participants.

Opis:
Introduction and objective: The aim of the study was to assess discriminatory behaviours towards HIV-infected people in Poland reported by patients treated in the Observation and Infection Clinic with the Subunit for HIV/AIDS Patients of the Medical University of Bialystok Clinical Hospital. Materials and methods: A total of 147 participants, including 104 men (70.7%) and 43 women (29.3%), took part in the research. The study was conducted between May 2019 and January 2020. The study used a diagnostic survey method with a modified questionnaire “Psychosocial situation of people living with HIV/ AIDS in Poland” by Dr Magdalena Ankiersztejn-Bartczak and standardised psychometric tools: the World Health Organization Quality of Life (WHOQOL-BREF), Short Form Health Survey (SF-36), Acceptance of Illness Scale (AIS), Satisfaction with Life Scale (SWLS), General Health Questionnaire (GHQ-28) and Beck Depression Inventory (BDI). Results: One in three respondents (32.7%) experienced discrimination. Healthcare professionals were reported to most frequently show discriminatory behaviour against seropositive persons (23.8%). Refusal of medical assistance and unethical treatment by medical staff were mentioned as the most common forms of discrimination (10.9% each). Conclusions: The quality of life of HIV-infected persons was moderate and was determined by the experience of stigma/discrimination due to their HIV status. Higher quality of life was presented by those who did not experience stigma/discrimination. HIV-infected respondents often experienced discrimination and stigma due to their clinical diagnosis. Since healthcare workers were the most common source of discrimination, it is important to undertake educational activities in this professional group as part of campaign against discrimination of HIV-positive people.

Opis:
Attempts at unifying the diagnostic and therapeutic procedures for transgender individuals experiencing gender dysphoria were first undertaken in Poland in the 1980s. Since then, there has been a change in the perception of transgenderism, almost paradigmatic, expressed in subsequent editions of the diagnostic systems (DSM, ICD), which is also associated with the fundamental changes in the principles of conducting trans-specific healthcare. This triggered the need to formulate recommendations for specialists practicing in Poland, which would at least partly reflect the evolution of views and guidelines on clinical care in transgender adults seeking help due to gender dysphoria.

Opis:
Introduction and objective: The aim of the study was to assess the prevalence of mood disorders symptoms and suicidal thoughts among HIV patients treated in Białystok and their impact on quality of life. Materials and methods: A total of 147 participants, including 104 men (70.7%) and 43 women (29.3%), took part in the research. Results: Suicidal thoughts and attempts were reported by 20% and 7% of respondents, respectively. Fear of living with HIV and fear of loneliness were the predominant reasons for suicidal thoughts (38.7% in total). Two-thirds of respondents had no depressive symptoms, while one-fourth of respondents presented with at most moderate depressive symptoms. There were significant differences in the level of health problems depending on marital status. Those who had suicidal thoughts after receiving HIV diagnosis had a lower quality of life. Conclusions: One-third of the respondents reported symptoms of mood disorders, most of which were of moderate intensity, and one-fourth of the respondents had suicidal thoughts and attempts. The quality of life of HIV patients was mainly determined by their general physical and mental health and social support. A higher quality of life was presented by those with better general health status who received social support. Only marital status determinated the prevalence of symptoms of mood disorders in the study group.
