Opis:: The area of content to which the term “terrorism” refers is very broad and is also the subject of numerous studies. However, the results indicate significant discrepancies in the understanding of the term, resulting not only in an ambiguous perception, but above all in the lack of a generally accepted definition of the phenomenon. Researchers see it as an ideology, as well as a strategy, tactics or method of fighting, and finally as a tool for achieving the goals set. The validity of the meaning assigned to them has been verified by analysing the definitions of individual concepts, and in the search for the scope of meaning of the word terrorism, the terms that are indicated as its synonyms have also been used. The research conducted indicated political motivation as a feature distinguishing a terrorist from an ordinary criminal. Terrorists try to influence the power of a given country, also aiming at causing disturbances in its decision-making processes and, as a result, paralysing the state apparatus. The main characteristic of terrorism is the use of violence, which can take the form of any behaviour that results in the creation of a state of fear and danger in the human psyche. The purpose of terrorism is, therefore, to deliberately arouse and exploit fear, and its far-reaching psychological consequences go well beyond the immediate victims. Arousing fear in a society of the likelihood of a terrorist attack aims to force a government, organisation or social group to take or abandon certain actions. The adoption of such a tactic of action is an effect of disproportions, concerning both quantitative parameters of military potentials and factors determining the level of civilisation, and the differences lie in both the way of thinking and views, as well as the method of conducting a fight. In such a context, the power of terrorism comes from surprise, brutality and a task of the greatest possible loss in the shortest possible time, using unconventional methods. Unfortunately, the use of terrorist methods has become widespread and the threat of terrorism has become global.

Opis:: This paper argues that Mario Vargas Llosa’s novel The Feast of the Goat (2000) uses the images of the bodies of three of its characters (Urania Cabral, Trujillo and Agustín Cabral) to represent the mechanisms of state terrorism at the time of Trujillo’s dictatorship in the Dominican Republic. It is a traumatizing system, which leaves somatic marks in all the actors involved. We analyze the manners in which the Peruvian author uses the images of protagonists’ organic processes to sketch the psychical, emotional and ideological processes and states, linked to or generated by the policies of intimidation.

Autorzy pochylili się nad problematyką korelacji między bezpieczeństwem a zjawiskiem terroryzmu, wątpliwościami natury konstytucyjnej wokół ingerencji ustawy antyterrorystycznej w prawo do prywatności oraz wyznaczeniem konstytucyjnych wymogów i granic ingerowania w nie. Artykuł stanowi wkład w debatę nad granicami ingerencji władz oraz służb państwowych w życie poszczególnych jednostek i całego społeczeństwa.
Security is the main need of states and international systems. The authorities of the Republic of Poland faced a serious task, which was the desire to harmonize regulations related to the prevention of terrorism. The circumstances of the adoption of the Anti-Terrorism Act and the content of the act aroused much controversy. The authors focused on the issues of correlation between security and the phenomenon of terrorism, constitutional doubts about the interference of the anti-terrorism law with the right to privacy and the challenge of setting the constitutional requirements and limits of a restriction of them. This text is an important contribution to the debate on the limits of government (and services of the State) interference in the lives of individuals and society as a whole.

Skupiono się na wydarzeniach, które miały miejsce w XXI wieku oraz ich współczesnych znaczeniu dla ludność kontynentu europejskiego. Omówiono również sposoby przeciwdziałania zjawisku terroryzmu oraz wpływu czynnika medialnego na zjawisko. Wyciągnięto i opisano wnioski, jakie niesie za sobą opisywane zjawisko terroryzmu.
The problem of occurrence of terrorism in Europe brings a lot of consequences. This paper discusses examples of terrorist acts, terrorist organizations and their impact on European society. Used for a multitude of available scientific literature, describing the problem of terrorism from many perspectives. In this paper author made the theoretical analysis of the phenomenon of terrorism. The focus is on the events that took place in the twenty-first century and their contemporary significance for the people of the European continent. It also discusses the ways of tackling the problem of terrorism and the effects of media coverage of the phenomenon. Also drawn and describes the conclusions, that entails described the phenomenon of terrorism.

Opis:: On October 9-10, 2017, the International Scientific Conference „Polish, European and Global Nursing” was held in Warsaw, Poland. The main organizer of the conference was the National Council of Nurses and Midwives in Warsaw. The event was an excellent opportunity to seriously discuss the situation of nurses and midwives and other topics in a large group of experts, pondering such issues as how to restore the dignity and prestige of the profession, and also how to initiate a discussion on the psychological and psychiatric consequences of a terrorist attack on the human body.

The issue of the departure of allied troops from Afghanistan and the current situation of al-Qaeda, the group responsible for the terrorist attack on September 11, is discussed.

Opis:: Światem początku XXI w. wstrząsnęły dramatyczne i jakże tragiczne w skutkach zamachy terrorystyczne. 11 września 2001 r. runęły wieże WTC w Nowym Jorku. Trzy lata później bomby wybuchły w Madrycie, a następnie w Londynie. Lata 2015–2016 to cała seria zamachów w Europie. Każdy kolejny incydent niósł za sobą zmianę w poczuciu zagrożenia terroryzmem we wszystkich państwach europejskich. Zauważalna stała się radykalizacja poglądów i postaw ludzkich co do sposobów walki z terroryzmem. Przełożyło się to także na postrzeganie innych, obcych nacji w poszczególnych państwach. Podejmując walkę z terroryzmem poszczególne państwa po kolei wprowadzały zmiany prawa, z jednej strony dające nowe, duże możliwości działania służbom odpowiedzialnym za bezpieczeństwo, z drugiej zaś w dużym stopniu ograniczające prawa i wolności obywatelskie.
The world of the beginning of the 21st century was shocked by dramatic and very tragic terrorist attacks. On September 11, 2001, the WTC towers in New York collapsed. Three years later, bombs exploded in Madrid and then in London. Years 2015-2016 were marked by a series of attacks in Europe. Each subsequent incident brought a change in the sense of threat to terrorism in the communities of all European countries. The radicalization of human views and attitudes regarding ways to combat terrorism has become noticeable. This also translated into the perception of others – foreign nations in each country. Taking the fight against terrorism, individual countries introduced law changes. On the one hand it’s giving new and powerful opportunities for security services, on the other hand, significantly limiting civil rights and freedoms.

Opis:: One of the biggest and most important threats to modern tourism is terrorism. Increasingly, attacks are aimed at tourists, which directly affects the volume of tourist traffic, inflows to the economy, increased security controls and, above all, the feelings of travelers.This Master's thesis aims to show the impact of terrorist attacks on the tourism industry, as well as decisions made by travelers. In addition to theoretical content on tourism, based on scientific literature, the problem of modern terrorism has been presented. A key part of the work is the description of the relationship between the activities of terrorist groups and the size of tourism. The focus was also on the authorities' tightening of security regulations affecting the comfort of travel and the willingness to take them. The most important element is own research conducted in the form of a questionnaire. They gave an image of the tourists' perception of a terrorist threat affecting their decisions and feelings during their trips.Based on the above studies and literature studies, it was possible to verify the research hypothesis and obtain answers to research questions. It has been shown that terrorist attacks are reflected in the tourism industry in the form of reduced tourist traffic to countries targeted by attacks. Attention was also paid to the negative reception of increased security checks by travelers, the number of which increases particularly after attacks. This has a direct impact on the comfort of traveling.
Jednym z największych i najbardziej istotnych zagrożeń współczesnej turystyki jest terroryzm. Coraz częściej ataki wymierzone zostają w turystów, co bezpośrednio oddziałuje na wielkość ruchu turystycznego, wpływy do gospodarki, wzmożone kontrole bezpieczeństwa oraz, przede wszystkim, na odczucia podróżnych.Niniejsza praca magisterska ma na celu przedstawienie wpływu ataków terrorystycznych na przemysł turystyczny, a także na decyzje podejmowane przez podróżnych. Oprócz treści teoretycznych dotyczących turystyki, w oparciu o literaturę naukową ukazany został problem współczesnego terroryzmu. Kluczową częścią pracy jest opis związków między działaniami ugrupowań terrorystycznych, a wielkością ruchu turystycznego. Skupiono się także na zaostrzaniu przez władzę przepisów bezpieczeństwa mających wpływ na wygodę podróżowania i chęć ich podejmowania. Najważniejszym elementem są badania własne prowadzone w formie kwestionariusza ankiety. Dały one obraz postrzegania przez turystów zagrożenia terrorystycznego, mającego wpływ na ich decyzje oraz odczucia podczas wyjazdów. Na podstawie powyższych badań oraz studiów literatury możliwa była weryfikacja hipotezy badawczej oraz uzyskanie odpowiedzi na pytania badawcze. Wykazano, że ataki terrorystyczne odbijają się na przemyśle turystycznym w postaci zmniejszonego ruchu turystycznego do krajów będących celem zamachów. Zwrócono także uwagę na negatywny odbiór przez podróżnych wzmożonych kontroli bezpieczeństwa, których liczba wzrasta szczególnie po przeprowadzonych atakach. Ma to bezpośredni wpływ na wygodę podróżowania.

Opis:: Universal computerization is growing at an extremely dynamic pace. This applies to the development of information networks and systematically increased computerization of our home, family and social life. There is a growing number of discussions around increasingly accessible information. There is no doubt that the widespread computerization of our lives is largely a qualitatively new phenomenon. A significant part of the society is not prepared for the threats that have arisen with it, such as information struggle, information manipulation and cyber terrorism. Therefore, a justified question arises about the assessment of the real scale related to the depth of qualitative changes that it introduces into social life now and in the coming years. Historical experience shows that permanent social changes can not always be easily distinguished from the often spectacular, but as it turns out transient fascination with technological innovations. This text is an attempt to ask a few more detailed questions about the significance and impact of information warfare on changes in people's behavior and social behavior.
