Opis:
Aim. In this study, the challenges encountered during the introduction of religious education in Turkey are examined within the scope of their intended solutions. Methods. In this study, challenges encountered in the implementation of religious education in Turkey are being discussed in a descriptive manner. Literature scanning and interpretation methods, one of the qualitative research methods, were used in the study.  Results. Religious education in Turkey is both maintained within the formal education system and the non-formal education system. Formal education is provided in public schools run by the Ministry of National Education [MNE]. Primary, secondary and high school education is compulsory for all students. There are Imam Hatip Schools that were opened to provide religious education at secondary and high school level. There are also two hours of compulsory religious education per week in other schools. Non-formal religious education is provided only by the Presidency of Religious Affairs [PRA]. This training is given to people of all ages. For this purpose, the PRA opens several courses. Conclusions. In this study, challenges encountered related to religious education in Turkey are being discussed in two main areas: Challenges in formal education are examined under seven subtitles. Challenges in non-formal education are examined under eight subtitles. Originality. This study is an original study in terms of addressing the challenges in formal and non-formal religious education together. In addition, the possibility of making a collective examination of challenges related to religious education in Turkey would be valuable to the reader.

Opis:
Challenges to the teaching of religion are analysed from different perspectives and in different aspects. In the diagnosis of problems, one of the most important factors is the opinion of religion teachers who confront these challenges directly and on a daily basis. This article is an analysis of the results of a survey of religion teachers in this context. Challenges from the students, from the parents, from the institutional Church, from the school and challenges from the parish are discussed. Among the most serious challenges is the lack of faith of the pupils and the lack of need for faith development were identified. The research shows that the strongest correlate of attitudes towards Religious Education at school is religious indifference and waning religiosity.

Wyzwania dla nauczania religii są analizowane z różnych perspektyw i w różnych aspektach. W diagnozie problemów jednym z najważniejszych czynników jest opinia nauczycieli religii, którzy bezpośrednio i na co dzień konfrontują się z tymi wyzwaniami. Niniejszy artykuł stanowi analizę wyników badań nauczycieli religii w tym kontekście. Omówione zostały wyzwania ze strony uczniów, rodziców, Kościoła instytucjonalnego, szkoły oraz wyzwania ze strony parafii. Wśród najpoważniejszych wyzwań nauczyciele religii wskazali brak potrzeby rozwijania wiary ze strony uczniów i ich rodziców. Badania potwierdzają, że najsilniejszym korelatem postaw wobec edukacji religijnej w szkole są obojętność religijna i słabnąca religijność.

Opis:
The article provides an overview of approaches to the organization of religious education in secondary schools of Ukraine during the period of its independence, which complements the European experience of studying this issue. Attention is paid both to the historical circumstances of the beginning of school religious education in the interaction of religious, state and educational institutions, and to modern issues related to the policy of introducing subjects of religious and moral orientation in Ukrainian schools. The current legislation in the field of religious education in a secular school, the real practice of its implementation, and the challenges that give an idea of the specifics of Ukraine in this matter in the European space, are analyzed. The legislative work of Ukraine on resolving the issue of legal regulation of the possibility of establishing educational institutions of different levels of accreditation by religious organizations is generalized. Statistical data on the state of teaching religious and moral subjects in schools of Ukraine are analyzed. Prospects and possibilities of further teaching of religious education in the Ukrainian public school are considered.

Opis:
The article shows, in detail, the interrelation which occurs between the parish religious education and school teaching of religion in Poland. The author takes up a reflection 25 years after bringing religion back to schools. Starting from establishments of religious educationdocuments of the Catholic and Polish Church, he points at the complementarity of these two forms of the religious education service of the word. It is also related to the possibility of carrying three functions of religious education out - the teaching, the upbringing and acquainting both in the parish, and at the school. In conclusion, the author formulates conclusions which are a response to the complementarity challenge of the parish catechesis and religious education in Poland. In the special way he stresses out the substantial role of liturgy and its connections with the religious education.

The author of this article presents Religious Education teachers continuing professional development in Poland in the context of political, social, economic, cultural and educational changes. During the last years, Poland has developed a national strategy for teacher training and introduced many new regulations. The aim of the new legal solutions is to prepare RE teachers as will be competent specialists in theology, accomplished in didactics and pedagogy and capable of caring for – and contributing to – the upbringing of pupils of varying needs; as well as organizers of social activities in class and school, also in effective cooperation with the local parish. Despite the many changes, RE teachers still have very difficult situation in Poland and face many challenges.

Freedom is one of the most fervently fought for values and, at the same time, the very idea of freedom belongs to concepts that are essentially contested. This situation is a part of human brokenness, and in Christian formation, it has to be seriously dealt with. According to the popular view, ‘holiness’ is a life-negating and judgmental attitude towards everything ‘normal.’ In biblical usage, it connotes belonging to God as a gift in Christ. Spiritual formation begins with a biblical explanation of freedom and holiness. A Christian worldview has to be the background to Christian formation, functioning as a correction of the commonly- accepted naturalistic worldview. A personal experiential relationship with God is the key to successful growth towards realistic and practical holiness in daily life. ‘Dos and don’ts’ that usually arise at the beginning of religious education shall be experienced as liberating instructions, if they are offered as guidance to a fully persuaded mind and a devotedly loving heart.

The article analyzes the religious situation in the Ukrainian society, as well as its impact on the formation and development of military-religious relations in the Armed Forces of Ukraine in 1991–2017. Religion, as one of the leading forms of social consciousness, is an important factor in the formation of civil society and in the development of channels of its communication with state institutions. The Church has traditionally played the role of an important subject of the socio-political life in the history of the Ukrainian people. The relationship between Russian-Ukrainian relations and their impact on state-religious relations in Ukraine and its Armed Forces has been studied. The main tendencies of the development of military-religious relations in the Armed Forces of Ukraine have been clarified. The transformation processes that influenced the change of the existing models of support of religious needs for the servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the studied period, are analyzed here/in this article. In particular, some historical aspects of socio-political processes that influenced the formation and development of military-religious relations, and the institutionalization of the military clergy (chaplaincy) of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the period under study are highlighted. In today’s conditions, military chaplains have gained significant experience of service in the war zone, have strong national and patriotic convictions, are able to withstand significant psychological and physical stress, and are ready to carry out pastoral service in any environment.

Rozwój Internetu i nowoczesnych narzędzi komunikacyjnych jest przedmiotem badań różnych dyscyplin naukowych. Polscy badacze od wielu lat prowadzą zarówno ilościowe jak i jakościowe badania stopnia użytkowania Internetu oraz wpływu nowych technologii i ich narzędzi na współczesne młode pokolenie. Kościół katolicki w swoim nauczaniu wielokrotnie zwraca uwagę na ważną rolę mediów w komunikacji wiary oraz jest świadom wyzwań, które generują nowe media. W oparciu o przeprowadzoną analizę wyników wybranych badań polskiej młodzieży w artykule przedstawiono kilka cech „pokolenia Z”. Zostały one określone jako: 1. Zalogowani−mobilni−skomunikowani; 2. Aktywni odtwórcy; 3. Uzależnieni?; 4. Samotni; 5. Kreatorzy nowej tożsamości i wizerunku. Następnie, w powyższych obszarach tematycznych, podjęto próbę ukazania kilku zadań wychowawczo-formacyjnych dla współczesnej posługi katechetycznej w Polsce wobec tego pokolenia. Przepowiadanie słowa Bożego na katechezie przez i w nowych mediach jest ciągle aktualnym wyzwaniem dla katechetów i dla odpowiedzialnych za ich formację.
The development of the Internet and modern communication tools is the subject of research of various scientific disciplines. For many years, polish researchers have been conducting both quantitative and qualitative studies on the degree of Internet use and the impact of new technologies and their tools on the contemporary young generation. The Catholic Church in its teaching repeatedly draws attention to the important role of the media in communication of faith and is aware of the challenges that generate new media. Based on the analysis of the results of selected studies of polish youth, the article presents several features of „the Z generation”. They were defined as: 1. Logged in-mobile-communicated; 2. Active recreators; 3. Addicted?; 4. Lonely; 5. Creators of the new identity and image. Then, in the above thematic areas, an attempt was made to present several educational and formation tasks for the contemporary catechetical ministry in Poland, in relation to this generation. The proclamation of the word of God in catechesis by and in new media is still a current challenge for catechists and those responsible for their formation.
