Opis:: Based on a literature review, the author provides a historical outline of the fatigue analysis and describes the current trends aiming at comprehension of the fatigue life of engineering structures under service loading. Next, an algorithm for multiaxial fatigue life prediction is identified, describing steps of calculation. Classification criteria of fatigue failure and components of the stress state in multiaxial loading conditions are also presented, recognising the importance of the so-called Standarised Load Histories (SLH) used in the comparative analysis of fatigue life of finished products.

Opis:: W artykule omówiono aktualną sytuację sektora biogazu rolniczego w Polsce, produkcję, zdolności produkcyjne i stopień ich wykorzystania czy atrakcyjność sektora. Przedstawiono aspekty prawne regulujące OZE, w tym dotyczące sektora biogazu oraz scharakteryzowano technologie produkcji biogazu. Artykuł zgłębia również kluczowe dla biogazu aspekty jak: opłacalność, czy oddziaływanie na środowisko w tym również redukcji emisji CO2. Stwierdzono, iż pomimo wielu problemów, realną szansę na poprawienie sytuacji sektora biogazu w Polsce stwarza wejście w życie ustawy o OZE.
The article presents the situation of the biogas sector in Poland. It touches also the areas such as Renewable Energy Sources law and biogas production technology. The article also penetrates key aspects like profitability, attractiveness or influence on environment, like the reduction of carbon dioxide emissions. The conclusion is that despite many problems, the Renewable Energy Sources Act that is to come into effect, creates a real opportunity for improvement of the Polish biogas sector.

Opis:: Traction calculations of the Sports and Recreation vehicle fitted with a permanent magnets electric motor with a capacity of 15kW are presented in the paper. The calculations of ability to overcome the motion resistance of the car and capable of speeds and accelartions at different ratios are shown. The necessary improvements to mount the electric drive and good points of this solution are discussed. The traction calculations comparison of the electric motor with internal-combustion engine will be shown in the next part of article.

Opis:: To test the influence of selected fertilisers and fungicides on the germination of black alder seeds and the initial phase of seedling growth, we conducted a laboratory experiment outlined in this paper. Six treatments were applied on petri dishes each containing 30 seeds. The substrate for germination was sterile filter paper wetted with an aqueous solution of either one of two fungicides, two organic fertilisers, a mineral fertiliser or distilled water (control). Fungicides and fertilisers were applied according to the manufacturers’ recommendations. In order to keep genetic variability to a minimum, seeds originated from a single tree in a seed stand located in the Chotyłów Forest District, eastern Poland. Germination and growth took place at a temperature of 23oc ± 2oC with a 14 h/10 h day/night cycle. Seeds began to germinate as early as the second day after sowing, except for the mineral fertiliser treatment, in which the first sprouting was observed on day 3. Seedling length was measured daily from the day of germination of a given seed through to day 15. Germination was found to proceed most rapidly in the control, while the largest increments in length and dry mass occurred in the control and fertiliser treatment with the so-called N1 fertiliser (solely comprising growth stimulators in the form of humic acids, chitosan and silicon). The most limited growth was observed under the influence of the F1 fungicide (active compound Thiram) as well as the organic fertiliser N2 (a mixture of mineral components and organic growth stimulators). Roots were found to develop most rapidly in the control and in the treatment with N1 (no mineral components). These are also the only two treatments in which the roots were longer than the stems after 15 days. Fertiliser N2 was found to have the most unfavourable influence on both, germination and the first phase of seedling deve- lopment. The fact that selected fertilizers and fungicides affected black alder seeds and seedlings under laboratory conditions does not mean that they will have an impact under field conditions or on other forest tree species. Therefore, this type of research will need to be conducted individually for each forest tree species.

Opis:: W pracy oceniono przydatność zdjęć w zakresie bliskiej podczerwieni. Zdjęcia wykonano zmodyfikowanymi aparatami cyfrowymi (Sigma DP2) zamontowanymi na bezzałogowym statku latającym AVI-1. Dla wybranego obiektu badawczego o pow. 284 ha, wykonano 930 zdjęć o rozdzielczości terenowej 0,15 m. Zdjęcia zostały przetworzone do postaci ortomozaik w barwach naturalnych oraz zbliżonych do spektrostrefowych. W terenie wykonano obserwacje koron świerków rosnących w ok. 40-letnim, jednogatunkowym drzewostanie. Określono gęstość igliwia, jego kolor oraz inne symptomy świadczące o kondycji drzew. Te same drzewa zidentyfikowano na ortomozaikach i poddano klasyfikacji, której wyniki porównano z danymi uzyskanymi w terenie. Ocenę stanu zdrowotnego świerka (Picea bies) na ortomozaikach wykonano analizując udział barwy czerwonej związanej z różnymi objawami chorobowymi i uszkodzeń koron. Obserwacje wykonało niezależnie od siebie dwóch obserwatorów, każdy w dwóch seriach. Ocenę jednolitości rozpoznawania barw przez obserwatorów oparto na porównaniu uzyskanych wartości. Stwierdzono, że jest możliwe podzielenie obserwowanych drzew na kilka klas zdrowotności.
Several tests were carried out of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) equipped with customer cameras to take pictures of forest areas. Based on this a special own UAV was built which can carry a set of non-metric digital cameras recording images in RGB and near-IR channels. Approximately 1000 aerial images with a ground resolution of 0.15 m were taken for the selected research facility with an area of approximately 250 ha. These images were used to produce an orthomosaic in natural and multispectral bands. It was decided to find out whether it is possible to evaluate the health condition of spruce (Picea abies). The field observations were made of the crowns of spruces growing in about 40-year-old single-species stand. Information on the density of pine needles, its color, and other symptoms of the tree condition were recorded. The same trees were identified on orthomosaic and classified. Results of classification from the field and orthomosaic were compared. It was concluded, that it is possible to divide the observed number of trees into several health condition classes.

Opis:: The paper deals with the modern variable-speed electric drive named E-Kit, dedicated to electrification of used small passenger cars with combustion engines. The main assumptions taken into account when designing E-Kit drive are described in the paper. Main electrical parameters and electromechanical characteristic curves of Interior Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor dedicated to E-Kit drive are presented. On the IPMSM motor's electromechanical curves two speed control zones are distinguished and described: constant torque zone and constant power zone. Mechanical construction of this motor is also described shortly. In the paragraph 5 the results of traction calculations and appropriate traction characteristic curves of E-Kit drive are presented.

Opis:: The programme of testing the progeny of permanent seed stands, parent trees, seed orchards and seedling seed orchards that has been run in Poland enables to determine the genetic value and silvicultural quality of the progeny of components of primary forest material. A better knowledge of population variability and adaptability to particular environmental conditions also allows for the updating and verification of principles regarding the use of the seed base in testing regions, as well as the determination of possibility for forest reproductive material to be transferred. The article presents the research on assessment of survival and growth among progeny from 26 permanent seed stands of silver fir that originates from Lublin, Radom and Łódź Regional Directorates of the State Forests, at four testing grounds located in the Kielce, Suchedniów, Tomaszów and Zwierzyniec forest districts. Each research plot was founded with 4 replicates, each with 3−year−old saplings. After 5 years of growth, mean rates of survival ranged from 70.4% at the Kielce site to92.7% in Tomaszów. The lowest survival rate (30.5%) was noted for local origin (Starachowice), while the highest (93.8%) characterised the local standard from Zwierzyniec. Mean height varied from 54.1 cm in the case of the Suchedniów to 80.0 cm in the case of Tomaszów, albeit with the shortest firs originating from the Starachowice local standard and the tallest from the Tomaszów local standard. Analysis of variance components revealed that the environmental conditions (described by study area) played major role in shaping the variability. This effect was responsible for around 75% of the variance in height and 60% of that relating to survival. In contrast, origin (genetic factor) was most likely responsible for 7% of the noted variance in height or 4% of that relating to survival.
