Opis:
Natural radioactive elements such as uranium and thorium restrict the use of red mud as building materials or additives, and may cause environmental problems. The distribution features of U and Th in red mud was studied from micro and macro analysis, using EPMA, LA-ICP-MS, and methods of mineralogy and beneficiation. Based on the micro-area scanning analysis, main chemical compositions in red mud, such as Ca, Al, Si, Na, and K are dispersive while Fe and Ti mainly tend to concentrate in granular phases. Based on the in-situ analysis, the distribution of main elements and most trace elements in micro-zone of red mud was homogeneous. In micro-zone area, the variation tendency of thorium content was similar with Y in red mud samples. By means of the methods of mineralogy and beneficiation, red mud samples were separated into different fractions. U and Th tend to be enriched in the low density fraction of the red mud. Th presented a high concentration in the finest particle size fractions of the red mud. Neither U or Th was regularly distributed in various magnetic red mud fractions. Thorium fingerprint peaks were determined in perovskite by EDX under TEM, which is proposed to be one of the radioactivity sources in Bayer red mud.

Opis:
To develop a sensitive, specific, and rapid approach for the detection Getah virus (GETV), a set of primers targeting the conserved region of the E1 gene was created. The TaqMan-based real-time PCR method for GETV detection was developed by optimizing the reaction conditions. The method demonstrated excellent specificity, and amplification did not occur with the causative agents of all prevalent swine viral infections (CSFV, PRRSV, PRV, PEDV, PTV, and JEV), except GETV. Additionally, upon assessing the sensitivity of the method, the minimum detection limit for GETV was found to be 5.94 copies/μL, which is 10 times higher than that of the traditional PCR approach. Further, the intra- and inter-assay variation coefficients were less than 1%, demonstrating good repeatability. Moreover, GETV was found in 10 of the 20 field serum samples using real-time PCR but only in three of the samples using traditional PCR. Consequently, the first GETV TaqMan-based real-time PCR approach based on the E1 gene was developed for GETV pathogenic diagnoses, and this exhibited high specificity, sensitivity, and repeatability. This assay is practical for the pathogenic diagnosis and epidemiology of GETV.

Autorzy przedstawili metodę N-TR (nowa TR) będącą nowym procesem kucia ciężkich, jednolitych wałów korbowych z ciągłym przebiegiem włókien. W metodzie N-TR mechaniczne sprzężenie spęczania z równoczesnym wyginaniem, spowodowane działaniem mechanizmu kolanowego w metodzie TR, zostało zlikwidowane dzięki zastosowaniu siłownika powodującego niezależne wyginanie, co umożliwia optymalizację procesu kucia. Przeprowadzono optymalizację procesu kucia ciężkiego wału korbowego typu 601 metodą N-TR korzystając z symulacji MES w programie DEFORM-3D. Badano związek stopnia wypełnienia wykrojów narzędzi z prędkością wyginania. Stwierdzono, że niższa prędkość wyginania na początku procesu i wyższa prędkość wyginania na końcu procesu sprzyjają wypełnieniu wykrojów. Uzyskano optymalne wypełnienie wykrojów narzędzi dla technicznie realnych prędkości wyginania.
N-TR (new TR) is a new continuous grain flow forging process for solid heavy crankshafts forming proposed by the authors. In N-TR process, the mechanical coupling of upsetting and bending action via the toggle mechanism in TR process is decoupled by an independent additional cylinder to provide bending action, which provides the feasibility of process optimization. In this paper, a heavy crankshaft modeled 601 was selected as a case study to optimize the N-TR process with FE simulation in DEFORM-3D. Relationship of die filling versus bending speed-stroke parameters was set up from the simulations, which shows that lower bending speed in the beginning stage and higher speed in the ending stage benefit die filling. Optimum die filling and engineering feasible speed-stroke parameters was acquired.

Samoloty muszą być testowane w locie podczas procesu ich opracowywania i dla zapewnienia niezawodności powinny przejść, podczas faz badania w locie, proces wzrostu niezawodności obejmujący kolejne etapy: testowania, poszukiwania ukrytego uszkodzenia, udoskonalania i ponownego testowania. Jednakże z powodu złożonej budowy samolotów i wysokich kosztów badań w locie, badania wzrostu niezawodności z reguły przeprowadza się na małych próbkach. Trudno jest zatem ocenić wzrost niezawodności w kolejnych fazach badań w locie. W niniejszej pracy do estymacji wzrostu niezawodności zastosowano metodę bayesowską dla dwumianowego wzrostu niezawodności opartą na rozkładzie a priori Dirichleta oraz obliczono parametry rozkładu a posteriori wykorzystując metodę symulacji Markov-Chain Monte Carlo. Metodę zastosowano w kolejnych fazach badań w locie bezzałogowego statku latającego (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle), a użyty przykład pokazuje, iż metoda oparta na rozkładzie a priori Dirichleta może skrócić czas badań w locie. Parametry rozkładu a priori łatwo jest potwierdzić na podstawie uprzednio znanych informacji. Proponowana metoda nadaje się do oceny badań wzrostu niezawodności podczas kolejnych etapów badań w locie.
It is necessary for airplanes to be fl ight-tested during the development process, and they should pass the testing/failurefi nding/improvement/re-testing reliability growth process during the fl ight-testing phases to ensure its reliability. However, due to airplane complexity and the high costs of fl ight-testing, the reliability growth testing is usually done with small samples. It is thus diffi cult to estimate the reliability growth during the fl ight-testing phases. In this paper, Bayesian method for binomial reliability growth based on the Dirichlet prior distribution is applied to reliability growth estimation, and the parameters of the posterior distribution are calculated by using the simulation method of Markov-Chain Monte Carlo. The method is applied to the Unmanned Aerial Vehicle test fl ight phases, and the example shows that the method based on the Dirichlet prior distribution can save the fl ight-testing time. It is easy to confi rm the parameters of the prior distribution by using the prior information. The proposed method is suitable for reliability growth testing estimation during fl ight-testing stages.

Opis:
The opening unit is an important device in a rotor spinning unit to comb fibres and remove trash. In this paper, numerical simulation is carried out to study the flow structure in the rotor spinning channel and the trash removal process in the trash removal unit. Firstly the effect of the opening unit on the airflow field in the rotor channel is investigated by singlephase simulation. The result shows that the effective area for fibre conveyance enlarges as the absolute value of negative pressure at the outlet increases, while it decreases as the opening roller speed increases. However, the effect of the negative pressure and the opening roller speed on the length of the vortex in the axial direction is quite small. Secondly the trash separation process in the trash removal unit is simulated using the Discrete Phase Model (DPM). Suitable rotational speeds of particles of different diameters are acquired. These results could provide a valuable reference for parameter selection in the trash-removal process.
Jednostka otwierająca jest ważnym urządzeniem w przędzarce rotorowej służącym do rozczesywania włókien i usuwania odpadów. W artykule przeprowadzono symulację numeryczną mającą na celu zbadanie struktury przepływu w kanale przędzalniczym wirnika oraz procesu usuwania odpadów. Wpływ jednostki otwierającej na pole przepływu powietrza w kanale wirnika badano symulacją jednofazową. Wyniki wykazały, że efektywny obszar transportu włókien powiększa się, gdy wartość bezwzględnej wartości ujemnego ciśnienia na wylocie wzrasta, a zmniejsza się wraz ze wzrostem prędkości wału otwierającego. Jednakże wpływ podciśnienia i prędkość wału otwierającego na długość wiru w kierunku osiowym jest stosunkowo niewielka. Stwierdzono także, że proces separacji odpadów w jednostce usuwania odpadów jest symulowany przy użyciu modelu dyskretnego fazy (DPM). Otrzymuje się odpowiednie prędkości obrotowe cząstek o różnych średnicach. Wyniki te mogą stanowić cenny punkt odniesienia dla wyboru parametrów w procesie usuwania odpadów.

Opis:
A method for probing refractive index changes in photorefractive crystals using an interferometric technique and digital image processing was proposed. Based on equal thickness interference in LiNbO3 crystal and Fourier transform profilometry, we obtained phase value changes in interferograms induced by a photorefractive effect, and further calculated refractive index changes. The maximal values for extraordinary light (e-light) and ordinary light (o-light) are 6.6×10–4 and 1.2×10–4, respectively.

Opis:
A super depth of field height measurement method is proposed to measure the object height with the optical stereoscopic microscope. The quasi-Euclidean epipolar rectification algorithm is utilized on the original stereoimage to obtain rectified stereoimages and calibrate two camera parameters. Then, feature points are obtained by the SURF (speed up robust feature) algorithm and their corresponding disparities are calculated. The disparity-depth of field curve is fitted by combining the step height values of a stepper motor. Moreover, through local disparity value got from feature points on the object, the relative shift height is calculated through regression analysis. Finally, according to binocular vision geometry, the thickness of the object can be calculated. Experimental results show that the measurement error in Z direction is from 1.51% to 7.71%, which indicates that the proposed method is able to measure the height of a microobject beyond depth of field within a tolerant error.

A disparity servoing based fast autofocusing method is proposed for stereomicroscopes according to linear relationship between the disparity change in stereomicroscopic images and the move distance of a motorized translation stage. For a certain stereomicroscope, the calibration of a disparity range of clear images at each magnification is implemented offline. After that, the disparity of the stereomicroscopic image is used as an index to represent the sharpness of an arbitrary image. If the disparity does not satisfy the requirement, move steps and direction of a step motor are calculated by utilizing the linear relationship between the disparity change and the move distance of the stage. The iteration will be continued until the disparity of the captured stereomicroscopic image approximates to the clearest disparity. The experimental results show that the proposed method only requires a few iterations and less time to reach the focus position, and the disparity error is less than 0.5 pixel.
