Opis:

Opis:
The aim of the paper was to evaluate a sportsperson’s body posture regarding spine position, foot arch as well as distribution of contact force on the ground of a champion training Ju-jitsu (a case study). A study of somatic characteristics has been carried out, namely height, body weight, length and width of feet and the area of foot sole. The level of longitudinal and transverse foot arch and balance of both feet has also been taken into account. The study of somatic characteristics and feet assessment have been carried out by the authors of the paper. In order to assess the level of somatic characteristics (height, body weight and BMI index) and the area of feet and the level of foot arch, own research results have been compared with Lizis’ results. DIERS Formetic III 4D system, which enables to analyse body posture, namely spine and pelvis, in a non-invasive manner that is safe both to patients and medical personnel, has been used to assess spine and body posture. The results are very accurate and thanks to rapid image transmission to computer software, data analysis has been carried out immediately after test performance.

Opis:
Humans maintain balance in the vertical position through random movements that result from instability of the body supported in two points. These tracking movements are responsible for the motor activity focused on maintaining body balance. The role of the postural control system is to choose a strategy, that is, the behaviour as a response to stimuli and regaining the balance through coordinated activity of the muscles that stabilize the talocrural and hip joints that perform movements in the frontal and sagittal planes. The aim of this study is to evaluate the effect of equestrian classes on postural balance in the frontal and sagittal balance in healthy boys aged 15 to 17 years and boys at the same age with mild intellectual disability. The study examined 100 randomized boys aged 15 to 17 years with mild intellectual disability and healthy boys. The study participants were divided into two groups: experimental group, who participated for 12 weeks in equestrian classes and the control group, with boys attending outdoor or indoor physical education classes. Before and after completion of the study, both experimental and control groups were diagnosed by means of Accu SwayPlus force plate. Maximum and minimum locations of the position of the centre of pressure (COP) with respect to the base of support on the platform were evaluated in the frontal and sagittal planes. The description of the parameters was based on the arithmetic mean, maximal and minimal value, scatter diagram and percentage distribution of values. Correlation of the parameters was also evaluated. Significant changes were found in the experimental groups after horse-riding classes, which pointed to the improvement in balance response, particularly in the sagittal plane, both in terms of minimal and maximal values. The character of these changes was similar: value of body sway in the sagittal plane was reduced and the higher percentage of minimal values was recorded for each parameter in both planes after the equestrian effect. Correlations were found between maximum position of the centre of pressure (COP) in the frontal plane and minimal and maximal position of the centre of pressure in the sagittal plane. All the significant changes and trends found for the experimental group which occurred after 12 weeks of equestrian classes suggest improved parameters of balance. The lack of changes in balance parameters in the control group shows that the equestrian classes help develop balance abilities in healthy boys aged 15 to 17 years and, to a lesser extent, in those with mild intellectual disability.

Opis:
The roof support, especially the ŁP yielding steel arch support, is transported and assembled in the face with the use of auxiliary machines. This activity in Polish underground mines causes numerous problems, which until present have not been solved. Currently, transport and assembly are carried out manually, while the roadheader and suspended rail are used only to a small extent. Therefore, the modular installation and transport assembly was developed jointly by FAMA Sp. z o. o. and AGH University of Science and Technology. The solution in question enables performing a number of functions (including transport and assembly of all kinds of support arches), which are not available in currently manufactured equipment. The proposed manipulator solves numerous problems occurring during the installation of the steel arch support in an underground mining excavation and significantly improves the process of drilling galleries. This innovative solution considerably differs from the existing ones, and its greatest advantage is versatility with regard to the cross-section and equipment of the roadway, as well as a wide range of functions. In addition, it can also be used for reloading works. The modular installation and transport assembly together with a platform, a temporary mechanized roof support and a mining machine, make up a mechanizes roadheader complex, which enables continuous mining, loading and installing the permanent support in underground workings.

Opis:
Proper planning of the training process based on individual LT and AT metabolic thresholds is essential to improve athletic performance. Development of endurance in soccer players is mainly based on continuous runs and variable-intensity runs, supplemented with strength conditioning and sport-specific training. The aim of the study was to analyse selected parameters of physical capacity of soccer players after 8-week variable-intensity running training and circuit training. The experiment was carried out in a group of 34 soccer players aged 21 to 26 years. The athletes were divided into two groups: 17 people in the experimental group and 17 people in the control group. The experimental group was involved in 30-minute tempo runs two times a week for 8 weeks with variable intensity at AT. In the same period, the control group performed two 60-minute continuous runs at the intensity of 70-75%HRmax. The determination of metabolic thresholds used two indirect tests: the multistage shuttle run test (beep test) and maximal lactate steady state test (MLSS) with author's own modification. In order to evaluate maximal heart rate (HRmax), the research procedure was started from the beep test (distance: 20 m). The speed at the first level was 8.5 km/h and increased with each level by 0.5 km/h. Training of the experimental group where variable exercise intensity was used caused a statistically significant increase in HRmax (by 1.9%) and blood lactate levels at the AT (by 20.5%). The training in the experimental group led to the statistically significant (p < 0.05) increase in the parameters of the following variables: HRmax (by 1.9%); lactate level (by 7.85); HR at the AT (by 1,9%); lactate level at the AT (by 20.5%). The assumptions of the experimental training did not cause statistically significant changes in pretest vs. posttest HRmax and blood lactate levels for the LT. Endurance training with high intensity is more effective in soccer players compared to training with moderate intensity. Development of special endurance in soccer should also assume the intensity and method of working similar to the method used during sport competition.

Opis:
Introduction. Subacute degeneration of the posterior and lateral spinal cord is a rare neurological complication of B12 avitaminosis. Aim. In this paper, we present the case of a 65-year-old man who, in the course of long-term vitamin B12 deficiency associated with atrophic gastritis, developed a severe set of neurological symptoms that are part of the retinal spinal cord degeneration with characteristic features in MR imaging of the cervical spine in the form of an inverted “V mark” ‘in axial images and typical localization in the spinal cord. Description of the case. After careful analysis of the syndrome and making an early diagnosis, parenteral vitamin B12 supplementation began, resulting in improved neurological status, laboratory parameters as well as regression of changes in magnetic resonance imaging. Conclusion Significant symptoms of this syndrome are paresthesia in the distal parts of the limbs, ataxia, spastic paresis.

Opis:
Public participation means involvement of individuals, groups and local communities in public decision making. In the last few years an evolution of understanding the public participation in city management can be noticeable in Polish cities. The handbook tries to answer the question of how to lead public participation in spatial planning, with the focus on the contribution that citizens bring to the process. The aim is to provide practical knowledge about public participation in spatial planning (at the local government level), including good practices in this eld. The handbook consists of ten chapters. The rst three chapters gives an introduction to the theory of public participation in spatial planning. Fourth of them describes the de nition of public participation in spatial planning. The fth chapter shows forms of participation in current law conditions of Polish spatial-planning system. Sixth chapter deals with all the questions and doubts about process of public participation in spatial planning: its actors, advantages, limitations and problems. As a consequence, chapter sixth shows the principles and practical hints on social consultations organization. Next chapter describes the new forms of methods and tools of participation. Eighth chapter refers to main principles and examples of good practices in new participatory approach in Poland. Ninth chapter traces the results and evaluation of three processes of spatial planning regarding public participation (examples from Gorzów Wielkopolski, Trzebinia and Poznań) with a focus on SWOT analysis. The last chapter deals with a number of recommendations on how to strengthen the existing framework of local authorities cooperation in the eld of public participation in spatial planning.
