Opis:
The paper discusses the importance of tractors for the technological and transportation activities in agriculture. It also presents a methodological approach and an algorithm based on the criteria for the full utilization of the tractors' gravity and power for the successful aggregating of tractors when performing these activities. The offered mathematical model makes it possible to determine the sphere of full aggregation of tractors in transport within the broad range of change of the production conditions' indicators with the help of board computers.

Opis:
The Engine Test Stand is a measuring position providing wide range of features, enabling data acquisition, used to determine specific engine performance characteristics. Chassis dynamometers are more convenient and easier to operate (engine removal from a car is not required). At the same time, precision and accuracy as well as reproducibility of measurements remain high. Measurement lab at The Motor Vehicles and Combustion Engines Institute at Wroclaw University of Technology enables sophisticated diagnosis of all types of passenger cars and motorcycles. The station in our lab is capable of conducting the exhaust gas emission analysis of leaded petrol engines under specific load or with no load at all. In case of passenger cars equipped with a catalytic converter and lambda sensor, it is not only crucial to adjust the emission levels but also determine the lambda sensor values and oxygen content in the exhaust stream. What’s more important, the measurement process can be followed online which facilitates team work and delivers substantial speed ups.
Hamownia jest stacjonarnym stanowiskiem pomiarowym umożliwiającym pozyskanie niezbędnych danych do wyznaczenia charakterystyki silnika. W przeciwieństwie do hamowni silnikowych, hamownie podwoziowe są proste i szybkie w obsłudze (nie trzeba wyjmować silnika), a jednocześnie ich precyzja pomiaru parametrów pojazdu jest wysoka, podobnie jak powtarzalność przeprowadzanych testów. Stanowisko badawcze w Zakładzie Pojazdów Samochodowych i Silników Spalinowych Politechniki Wrocławskiej oferuje za pośrednictwem swego programu do symulacji obciążeń idealną bazę do diagnostyki wszystkich typów samochodów osobowych oraz motocykli pod obciążeniem. Możliwe jest również dokonania analizy spalin pojazdów zasilanych etyliną bez obciążenia lub pod obciążeniem. W samochodach osobowych z katalizatorem i sonda lambdą ważne jest nie tylko ustawienie wartości emisyjnych, ale też określenie wartości lambda i zawartości tlenu. A co najważniejsze pomiary mogą być podglądane w trybie online, co ułatwia i przyspiesza pracę zespołową zakładu.

This study presents the results of the design and characterization of a gas sensor with PMMA/CNTs chemiresistor as sensing element for detection of organic vapors. Multi wall carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) produced at our lab (by method of pyrolysis, outer diameter d=10÷40 nm, purity ≈94%) were incorporated into biocompatible polymer matrix. Poly(methyl methacrylate) - PMMA - and nanocomposite films were obtained using casting solution technique. Produced nanocomposite films were investigated with thermogravimetric analysis, differential scanning calorimetry, X-ray analysis, scanning electron microscopy, and Fourier transform infrared, while the sensors activity was determined by the changes in electrical resistance of the nanocomposite films due to acetone and chloroform exposure. The response to these vapors was evaluated and it was shown that PMMA/MWCNTs composites exhibit changes in electroresistivity. Sensitivity was calculated to be in 0.58-54.6 range (30 min exposed to acetone) and 0.53-10.35 (30 min exposed to chloroform). The results presented in this paper show that CNTs are able to improve the overall performances of polymer based sensors.

Opis:
The subject of this study is chemical functionalization as means of structural modification of multiwalled carbon nanotubes. The main goal of the experiments was to create highest density of carboxyl groups on multiwalled carbon nanotubes surface, necessary for further nanocomposite application. Two different types of multiwalled carbon nanotubes (I: outer diameter d=50÷ 100 nm, purity ≈84%, synthesized by pyrolysis and II: outer diameter d=10÷40 nm, purity ≈94%, synthesized by chemical vapor deposition) were treated by concentrated nitric acid (HNO₃) and by alkaline mixture (NH₄OH+H₂O₂). The alkaline medium as "milder" and less aggressive than nitric acid, was expected to be less destructive and cause minimal structural damage on multiwalled carbon nanotubes surface. Structural changes due to oxidation were observed by the Raman analysis, while the ratio of the intensities of the D and G peak was used to estimate the concentration of defects. Pristine and functionalized multiwalled carbon nanotubes were characterized by thermogravimetric analysis, scanning electron microscopy, ultraviolet-visible spectroscopy and zeta (ζ) spectroscopy. The results showed that functionalization initiates changes in carbon nanotubes structure as well as in their density of states. It also results in carbon nanotubes shortening and exfoliation and decreases their agglomeration tendency. Carbon nanotubes functionalized by both acid and alkaline treatment can successfully replace conventional carbon fibers as fillers in polymer composites for sensing application.

Experimental and computation results based on chemical composition assessment of metal-organic chemical vapour deposition grown undoped GaN/Al$\text{}_{x}$Ga$\text{}_{1-x}$N multiquantum well structures in the low composition limit of x = 0.07 and wide wells demonstrate composition fluctuations in the barrier layers which lead to large-scale nonuniformities and inequivalence of the different wells. As a consequence the experimental photoluminescence spectra at low temperature show a double peak structure indicative of well-width fluctuations by one lattice parameter (2 monolayers).

Opis:
Salix viminalis L. is a broadly cultivated willow species that has been intensively used for breeding purposes, particularly in selection of clones and hybrids for biomass production. The present study aimed to explore and compare growth and adaptability of two basket willow (Salix viminalis L.) clonal varieties - rubra and purpurea - at the specific edaphic and climate conditions and cultivation practice presented in an experimental plantation in North Central Bulgaria. The influence of spacing, genotype, root age and rotation on their productivity were also investigated and allometric relationships for non-destructive estimation of woody plant biomass were suggested. The trial plantation was established in the spring of 2018 as 4 sectors of a Nelder wheel plot with 15 nearly-square spacings, ranging from 0.25 to 9.80 m2 (40000–1020 plants per hectare). The two varieties were arranged in 4 four-spoke sectors (2 sectors per clone). Data collection took place from 2018 to 2020 and comprised 1- and 2-year rotations. The study showed that Salix viminalis var. rubra was more susceptible to desiccation-causing adverse climatic changes, poorly adapted to the specific conditions of the study site and gradually died out during the second and the third year. Salix viminalis var. purpurea exhibited steady survival rate (97 - 77%) and annual biomass productivity varying from 3 to 17 Mg/ha/year across the densities, sectors and years. During the first year of growth purpurea variety had a significantly higher plant weight and sprout number than rubra variety. Growing space affected positively the number of shoots and tree dendromass, and sprouting was reinforced by coppicing that doubled the shoot number during the subsequent rotation. This was reflected in the development of the stump-level allometric models that were differentiated according to rotation. The stump-level allometric model of higher predictive power was based on the main shoot length and shoot number. An exponential relationship to the breast-height shoot diameter was also suggested for biomass estimation of each sprout separately.

Opis:
We report multicolour photometric observations of the 2003 eclipse of the long-period (5.6 yr) eclipsing binary EE Cep. Measurements were obtained with ten telescopes at eight observatories in four countries. In most cases, UBV(RI)C broad band filters have been used. The light curve shape shows that the obscuring body is an almost dark disk around a low-luminosity central object. However, variations of the colour indices during the eclipse indicate that the obscuring body emits a considerable amount of radiation in the near infrared.
