Opis:
Composite phase-change nanofibers were prepared by electrospinning with polyethylene glycol (PEG) as the phase-change material (PCM) and polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP) as the carrier matrix. The high PEG content endowed the nanofibers with an excellent cooling effect and significantly reduced the smoke temperature. For PEG70/PVP nanofibers, the smoke temperature can be decreased 45℃ at the 8th puff, and be kept below 45℃. The cooling test proved that the electrospun PEG/PVP phase-change nanofibers exhibited a desirable cooling performance, improving the comfort of cigarette products. And the composite PEG/PVP phase-change nanofibers present great potential as the cooling cigarette filter material for HnB tobacco application.

Opis:
The grinding process in the concentrator is a part of the largest energy consumption, but also the most likely to cause a waste of resources, so the optimization of the grinding process is a very important link. The traditional fuzzy controller relies solely on the expert knowledge summary to construct control rules, which can cause significant steady-state errors in the model. In order to solve the above problem, this paper proposes an elastic variable universe fuzzy control based on Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) algorithm. The elastic universe fuzzy control model does not need precise fuzzy rules, but only needs to input the general trend of the rules, and the division of the universe is performed by the contraction-expansionfactor. The control performance is directly related to the contraction-expansionfactor, so this article also proposes using particle swarm optimization to optimize the scaling factor to achieve the optimal value. Finally, simulation models of traditional fuzzy control and elastic universe fuzzy control of feeding system of mill were built using Python to verify the control effect. Itssimulation results show that the time of the reaction of the fuzzy control system in the elastic variable theory universe based on particle swarm optimization was shorter by 34.48% comparing to the traditional one. Elastic variable universe fuzzy control based on particle swarm optimization (PSO) effectively improved the control accuracy of the mill feeding system and improved the response speed of the system to a certain extent.

Impact of the ADMIRE reconstruction algorithm combined with the Sa36 kernel on quantitative measurement of coronary artery calcification in AI : a single-arm prospective study

Opis:
Purpose: Accurate quantification of coronary artery calcium (CAC) via computed tomography (CT) imaging is essential for effective cardiovascular risk assessment. This study investigates the impact of different iteration levels in the advanced model-based iterative reconstruction (ADMIRE) algorithm on artificial intelligence-driven CAC quantification and subsequent risk stratification, with filtered back projection (FBP) serving as the reference. Material and methods: For 254 patients undergoing coronary CT angiography (120 kVp, automated tube current), raw data were reconstructed using FBP and ADMIRE levels 1-5 (kernel Sa36, 3.0 mm slice thickness, 1.5 mm spacing). AI-derived CAC parameters (volume, mass, Agatston score) and risk stratification were compared across reconstruction groups. Statistical analysis employed the Friedman test, one-way analysis of variance, and c2 test. Results: Compared to FBP, ADMIRE 1-5 reduced image noise by 9.70% to 49.76% (noise: 14.95 ± 2.26 HU vs. 7.55 ± 1.40 HU, F = 455.105, p < 0.001). Maximum CAC CT values progressively decreased with higher ADMIRE levels (FBP: 458.50 [306.00-645.00] HU vs. ADMIRE 5: 432.50 [281.75-620.75] HU; c² = 455.105, p < 0.001). CAC volume, mass, and Agatston scores declined significantly (p < 0.001 for all): volume decreased by 8.56-32.55% (FBP: 47.56 ± 5.93 mm³ vs. ADMIRE 5: 21.77 ± 3.46 mm³; F = 32.310); mass decreased by 8.73-32.57% (F = 29.477); and Agatston scores decreased by 8.77-33.13% (F = 31.104). Risk stratification shifted in 24/161 patients (14.91%) with detectable CAC. The effective radiation dose was 0.61 ± 0.18 mSv. Conclusions: ADMIRE reconstruction reduces image noise but progressively lowers CAC quantification (volume, mass, Agatston score) and maximum CT values, leading to underestimation of cardiovascular risk in a subset of patients. Caution is warranted when applying ADMIRE iterative reconstruction for CAC scoring.

Opis:
Hot QCD physics studies the nuclear strong force under extreme temperature and densities. Experimentally these conditions are achieved via high-energy collisions of heavy ions at the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider (RHIC) and the Large Hadron Collider (LHC). In the past decade, a unique and substantial suite of data was collected at RHIC and the LHC, probing hydrodynamics at the nucleon scale, the temperature dependence of the transport properties of quark-gluon plasma, the phase diagram of nuclear matter, the interaction of quarks and gluons at different scales and much more. This document, as part of the 2023 nuclear science long range planning process, was written to review the progress in hot QCD since the 2015 Long Range Plan for Nuclear Science, as well as highlight the realization of previous recommendations, and present opportunities for the next decade, building on the accomplishments and investments made in theoretical developments and the construction of new detectors. Furthermore, this document provides additional context to support the recommendations voted on at the Joint Hot and Cold QCD Town Hall Meeting, which are reported in a separate document.

Opis:
Semantic priming has been studied for nearly 50 years across various experimental manipulations and theoretical frameworks. Although previous studies provide insight into the cognitive underpinnings of semantic representations, they have suffered from small sample sizes and a lack of linguistic and cultural diversity. In this Registered Report, we measured the size and the variability of the semantic priming effect across 19 languages (n = 25,163 participants analysed) by creating the largest available database of semantic priming values using an adaptive sampling procedure. We found evidence for semantic priming in terms of differences in response latencies between related word-pair conditions and unrelated word-pair conditions. Model comparisons showed that the inclusion of a random intercept for language improved model fit, providing support for variability in semantic priming across languages. This study highlights the robustness and variability of semantic priming across languages and provides a rich, linguistically diverse dataset for further analysis. The Stage 1 protocol for this Registered Report was accepted in principle on 15 July 2022. The protocol, as accepted by the journal, can be found at https://osf.io/u5bp6 (registration) or https://osf.io/q4fjy (preprint version 6, 31 May 2022).
