Opis:
One of the operations in particulate processing which has an ancient history and a widespread use is granulation. Granulated compost fertilizer was granulated using the drum granulation method under different level of drum filling. Filling of the drum ranged from 5 to 10% (v/v). The effect of filling of the drum on some physical properties granulated compost fertilizer including: useful granules, granules size, crush strength, mass of the granules, bulk density, angle of friction and angle of repose are investigated in the present study. Result indicated that with the increasing of drum filling the percentage of useful granules, crush strength, bulk density, angle of friction and angle of repose increase from 64.97% to 78.82%, 34.32 N to 36.69 N, 745.585 kg/m3 to 762.729 kg/m3, 25.56º to 27.93º and 11.38º to 12.52º, respectively. Also the average size of granules decreases from 10.28 mm to 9.45 mm.

Opis:
Granulation is one of the fundamental operations in particulate processing which has an ancient history and a widespread use. Compost fertilizer was granulated using drum granulation method under different level of drum rotational speed. Rotational speed of the drum (ω) ranged from 40 to 60 rev min–1 (40, 45, 50, 55 and 60 rev min–1). The effect of rotational speed of the drum (ω) on some physical properties of granulated compost fertilizer including: useful granules, granules size, fracture force, mass of the granules, bulk density, angle of friction and angle of repose are investigated in the present study.Results indicated that with the increasing drum rotational speedthe percentage of useful granules, fracture force, bulk density, angle of friction and angle of reposeincrease from 69.91% to 80.88%, 34.35 N to 35.23 N, 743.23 to 765.08 kg m–3, 26.50 to 28.01º and 10.83 to 12.88º, respectively. Also the average size of granules decreases from10.15 to 7.05 mm.

Opis:
Discharge of industrial waste containing heavy metals to the environment is a main concern because of their toxicity to many life forms. Adsorption process is one of the conventional methods in order to adsorb heavy metals from wastewater effluents. Therefore, the removal of Cu(II) from aquatic solutions using modified maize hull was investigated. All experiments were performed in batch conditions. The residual Cu(II) concentration was measured by AAS. Upon increasing the adsorbent dosage, pH, and contact time and decreasing Cu(II) concentration, the removal efficiency of Cu(II) ions increased. In optimum conditions, 50% of copper was removed by modified maize hull. The experimental data were best fitted by the Langmuir type 2 model and the adsorption kinetic model followed a pseudo-second order type 1 model. It seems that the use of the modified maize hull to remove Cu(II) ions is very suitable, low-cost, and efficient.

Opis:
Previous research has studied the extent to which men are the default members of social groups in terms of memory, categorization, and stereotyping, but not attitudes which is critical because of attitudes’ relationship to behavior. Results from our survey (N > 5000) collected via a globally distributed laboratory network in over 40 regions demonstrated that attitudes toward Black people and politicians had a stronger relationship with attitudes toward the men rather than the women of the group. However, attitudes toward White people had a stronger relationship with attitudes toward White women than White men, whereas attitudes toward East Asian people, police officers, and criminals did not have a stronger relationship with attitudes toward either the men or women of each respective group. Regional agreement with traditional gender roles was explored as a potential moderator. These findings have implications for understanding the unique forms of prejudice women face around the world.
