Opis:
This paper presents the design, fabrication and testing of an improved thin-film thermal converter based on an electro-thermally excited and piezo-resistively detected micro-bridge resonator. The resonant thermal converter comprises a bifilar heater and an opposing micro-bridge resonator. When the micro-bridge resonator absorbs the radiant heat from the heater, its axial strain changes, then its resonant frequency follows. Therefore the alternating voltage or current can be transferred to the equivalent DC quantity. A non-contact temperature sensing mechanism eliminates heat loss from thermopiles and reduces coupling capacitance between the temperature sensor and the heater compared with traditional thin-film thermal converters based on thermopiles. In addition, the quasi-digital output of the resonant thin-film thermal converter eliminates such problems as intensity fluctuations associated with analogue signals output by traditional thin-film thermal converters. Using the fast-reversed DC (FRDC) method, the thermoelectric transfer difference, which determines the frequency-independent part of the ac-dc transfer difference, is evaluated to be as low as 1.1 · 10-6. It indicates that the non-contact temperature sensing mechanism is a feasible method to develop a high-performance thermal converter.

Opis:
Heterocoagulation can occur between fine siderite and hematite particles, which would result in the low efficiency of their separation during the flotation process. To date, there have been no mature methods to increase their separation efficiency. In this paper, citric acid was used as a regulator to enhance the slurry dispersion efficiency. Micro-flotation, scanning electron microscopy (SEM) analysis, settling tests, particle size measurements, zeta potential measurements and E-DLVO theoretical calculations were conducted in the investigations. A maximum recovery difference (53.98%) between siderite and hematite in their mixtures flotation was obtained. Settling tests confirmed that citric acid contributed to improving the dispersion degree of the slurry. SEM analysis indicated that citric acid could clean the surface of particles and weaken the coagulation between siderite and hematite, which were in line with the results of particle size measurements. The zeta potential measurements and Extended-Derjaguin-Landau-Verwey-Overbeek (E-DLVO) theoretical calculations indicated that the citric acid could adsorb on the siderite and hematite surfaces and decreased the surface charge, resulting in a visible increase of the repulsion energy between siderite and hematite particles. Therefore, citric acid can be applied to remove the easily-ground carbonate minerals first to improve the flotation performance of hematite in the separation process of carbonate-containing iron ores.

Opis:
Zinc oxide is considered an outstanding photocatalyst candidate, but its low photo-corrosion resistance is a problem to be solved. In the ZnO-ZnS core-shell structure, ZnS acts as a protective layer for the ZnO core, and thus, it can enhance stability and long-term performance. The ZnO-ZnS core-shell structure is synthesized into various nanoscale morphologies with high specific surface areas to improve photocatalytic efficiency. However, they are easily agglomerated and are hard to separate from reaction media. In this study, micro-sized bumpy spheres of ZnO-ZnS core-shell structure were prepared via facile chemical transformation of as-prepared ZnO. After sulfurization of the ZnO template, it was confirmed through SEM, TEM, EDS, and XPS analysis that a uniform ZnS shell layer was formed without significant change in the initial ZnO morphology. The ZnO-ZnS core-shell microsphere has shown superior efficiency and stability in the photocatalytic degradation of Rhodamine B compared with pristine ZnO microspheres.

Opis:
Abeliophyllum distichum Nakai, an ornamental plant, contains a wide range of phytochemicals having pharmaceutical properties. The use of different plant-based extracts for the enhancement of yield and/or quality of soybean sprouts, one of the most inexpensive but nutritious food products, is common. The objective of this study was to examine the effect of A. distichum flower extract (ADE) on the yield and nutritional value of soybean sprouts. Soybean seeds were soaked in ADE solutions with concentrations (w/v) of 0.5% (ADE-0.5), 1% (ADE-1), 3% (ADE-3), and 5% (ADE-5). The effect of ADE concentration on the yield and different nutrient components varied. The highest soybean sprout yield and vitamin C content were found with ADE-3. The most abundant essential amino acid content was detected in ADE-1, whereas the greatest amounts of total isoflavones and total minerals were determined in ADE-5 and the ADE-untreated control, respectively. Overall results of yield, color, and contents of vitamin C, amino acids, and isoflavones suggest that 1% or 3% of A. distichum extract could be an optimum concentration to soak the soybean seeds for higher sprout yield and nutrient content.

Opis:
In view of the disadvantages of the existing electrostatic separation process of decommissioned photovoltaic modules, which can only achieve the separation of fine silicon wafers and glass and has high energy consumption, a new process to solve the efficient dry separation of coarse silicon wafers and glass in decommissioned photovoltaic modules is proposed- the vibration separation method. Based on the theoretical analysis of the vibration separation of flaky silicon wafer and polyhedral glass particles, the effects of feed size, feed amount, vibration voltage, vibration frequency, horizontal inclination angle and longitudinal inclination angle on the product indexes of wafer and glass separation were investigated by single factor experiment. The optimal experimental conditions were obtained as follows: feed particle size +0.83mm, feed amount 0.15 t/h, vibration voltage 190 V, vibration frequency 48 Hz, horizontal inclination Angle 8°, longitudinal inclination Angle 3°. Under this optimized condition, the content of metal Si in the obtained silicon wafer product is 84.47%, the recovery rate of is 83.73%, the content of impurity SiO2 is 1.09%, and the content of SiO2 in the obtained glass product is 65.69%, and the recovery rate is 98.95%, the impurity metal Si content is 0.56%. This study provides a research idea for the industrial separation of silicon wafers and glass from decommissioned photovoltaic modules.

Opis:
The single-phase voltage loss is a common fault. Once the voltage-loss failure occurs, the amount of electrical energy will not be measured, but it is to be calculated so as to protect the interest of the power supplier. Two automatic calculation methods, the power substitution and the voltage substitution, are introduced in this paper. Considering the lack of quantitative analysis of the calculation error of the voltage substitution method, the grid traversal method and MATLAB tool are applied to solve the problem. The theoretical analysis indicates that the calculation error is closely related to the voltage unbalance factor and the power factor, and the maximum calculation error is about 6% when the power system operates normally. To verify the theoretical analysis, two three-phase electrical energy metering devices have been developed, and verification tests have been carried out in both the lab and field conditions. The lab testing results are consistent with the theoretical ones, and the field testing results show that the calculation errors are generally below 0.2%, that is correct in most cases.

Opis:
Enriching human microbiota has been proposed as a mechanism by which greenspace exposure improves human health. The existing evidence is scarce with few studies able to evaluate causality. We conducted a randomized controlled trial of 30 healthy undergraduate students to explore the intervention effects of greenspace on human gut and oral microbiota alpha-diversity, composition, differential genera and functional pathways. The study participants were divided into three groups, including outdoor greenspace (GS) group, outdoor non-greenspace (NGS) group, and indoor group, who visited a park, an open space without vegetation, and a classroom, respectively, for two hours per day over seven days. Differences in microbial alpha-diversity and composition across various groups were tested using Wilcoxon test and permutational multivariate analysis of variance, respectively. Linear discriminant analysis effect size analysis was performed to test differences in genera and functional pathways. Greenspace intervention significantly increased gut microbiota alpha-diversity, especially the observed Amplicon Sequence variant indexes and the Faith indexes (both p <0.05). In addition, the intervention substantially changed the composition of gut microbiota, of which the relative abundances of potentially beneficial bacteria increased. Further, the greenspace intervention affected several functional pathways of gut microbiota, including "substance dependence", "specific types of cancer", and "viral infectious diseases". However, we did not find any significant effect of greenspace intervention on oral microbiota. Our results suggest that greenspace intervention diversifies the gut microbiota and alters its composition. These findings could help to reinforce the potential of increasing people’s access to greenspace as a public health intervention.

Opis:
Alveolar echinococcosis (AE) is caused by the chronic infection of E. multilocularis, whose tumor-like growth can lead to high fatality if improperly treated. The early diagnosis of infection and the treatment of advanced AE remain challenging. Herein, bulk RNA-seq, scRNA-seq, and spatial transcriptomics technologies are integrated, to reveal the host immune response mechanism against E. multilocularis both spatially and chronologically, collecting mouse liver samples at multiple timepoints up to 15 months post infection. These results unveil an unprecedented high-resolution spatial atlas of the E. multilocularis infection foci and the functional roles of neutrophils, $Spp1^{+}$ macrophages, and fibroblasts during disease progression. The heterogeneity of neutrophil and macrophage subpopulations are critical in both parasite-killing and the occurrence of immunosuppression during AE progression. These findings indicate the transition of parasite control strategy from “active killing” to “negative segregation” by the host, providing instructive insights into the treatment strategy for echinococcosis.
