Opis:
Studies on molluscs of selected water bodies of the city of Szczecin (NW Poland), carried out in 1997, revealed the occurrence of 11 snail and 5 bivalve species. Two groups of water bodies were distinguished, of different species composition: Głębokie lake on one hand and the ponds with the Osówka stream on the other. Overall dominants were Potamopyrgus antipodarum (Gray), an expanding species, and Sphaerium corneum (L.).

Opis:
The paper describes the application of an Yb:YAG disk laser with a maximum output of 3.3 kW for the butt welding of armor steel plates ARMOX 500T 3.6 mm thick. The influence of laser welding parameters such as laser power beam, welding speed, focal point position on weld quality and mechanical properties of joints was studied. A proper selection of disk laser welding parameters provides non-porous and cracks free fully-penetrated welds with the aspect ratio up to 6.4. There was approx. 40% reduction in the hardness of heat affected zone (HAZ) in comparison to hardness of the base material (BM). The hardness values at the weld metal and the BM were similar. The joints exhibited about 15% lower ultimate tensile strength when compared with that of the BM. Charpy absorbed energy of the joints was approx. 30% lower than that of the BM.
Artykuł prezentuje wyniki badań procesu spawania złączy doczołowych blach ze stali pancernej Armox 500T o grubości 3.6 mm, laserem dyskowym Yb:YAG o maksymalnej mocy 3.3 kW. Określono wpływ parametrów spawania tj. mocy wiązki laserowej, prędkości spawania oraz położenia ogniska wiązki laserowej względem spawanej powierzchni na jakość złączy. Wykazano, iż istnieje pole parametrów spawania zapewniające uzyskanie złączy doczołowych wolnych od pęknięć i porowatości oraz współczynniku kształtu spoiny do ok. 6.4. W strefie wpływu ciepła następuje 40% zmniejszenie twardości w stosunku do materiału rodzimego oraz obszary spoiny. Wytrzymałość na rozciąganie złączy jest około 15% niższe od wytrzymałości materiały rodzimego. Udarność złaczy jest niższa o 30% od udarności materiału rodzimego.

Diode laser surface alloying process was used to the in-situ synthesis of TiC-reinforced composite surface layers on the ductile cast iron substrate. The obtained composite surface layers were investigated using optical and scanning electron microscopy, and XRD diffraction. It was found that the morphology and fraction of TiC phase is directly dependent upon both the concentration of titanium in the molten pool and also the solidification rate. With increasing titanium content, the fraction of TiC increases, whereas the fraction of cementite decreases. The TiC phase promotes a heterogeneous nucleation of primary austenite grains, what reduces a tendency of cracking in the alloyed layers.

Opis:
The results of the investigations of the laser remelting of the AlSi9Cu4 cast aluminium alloy with the anodised and non-anodised surface layer and hardness changes have been presented in this paper. The surface layer of the tested aluminium samples was remelted with the laser of a continuous work. The power density was from 8,17•103 W/cm2 to 1,63•104 W/cm2. The metallographic tests were conducted in form of light microscope investigations of the received surface layer. The main goal of the investigation was to find the relation between the laser beam power and its power density falling on a material, evaluating the shape and geometry of the remelted layers and their hardness. As the substrate material two types of surfaces of the casted AlSi9Cu4 alloy were applied – the non–treated as cast surface as well the anodized surface. As a device for this type of surface laser treatment the High Power Diode Laser was applied with a maximum power of 2.2 kW and the dimensions of the laser beam focus of 1.8 x 6.8 mm. By mind of such treatment it is also possible to increase hardness as well eliminate porosity and develop metallurgical bonding at the coating-substrate interface. Suitable operating conditions for HPDL laser treatment were finally determined, ranging from 1.0 to 2.0 kW. Under such conditions, taking into account the absorption value, the effects of laser remelting on the surface shape and roughness were studied. The results show that surface roughness is reduced with increasing laser power by the remelting process only for the non-anodised samples, and high porosity can be found in the with high power remelted areas. The laser influence increases with the heat input of the laser processing as well with the anodisation of the surface, because of the absorption enhancement ensured through the obtained alumina layer.

Artykuł prezentuje wyniki badań procesu napawania laserem diodowym warstw wierzchnich kompozytowych na osnowie stopu niklu Inconel 625 wzmacnianych cząstkami WC oraz Cr3C2. Określono wpływ energii linowej napawania oraz morfologii cząstek fazy umacniającej (FU) na stopień jej rozpuszczenia w osnowie warstwy. Ponadto, określono wpływ morfologii cząstek FU na odporność erozyjną warstw.
Inconel 625-based composite coatings reinforced by WC and Cr3C2 particles have been produced via a diode laser cladding process. The effect of heat input level and morphology of the reinforcing particles on the degree of their dissolution has been established. Additionally, the influence of the morphology of the reinforcing particles on the erosive wear behaviour of the coatings was studied.

Opis:
This paper presents the results of research of hydraulic loss during electrolyte flow through gaps typical for ECM machining. The research was conducted on a test station where inducing an oscillatory movement of electrodes was possible. Appropriately prepared electrodes with curvilinear outlines were placed in a machining unit which allowed for measuring the pressure of the electrolyte flow in eight points on the electrode surface and also interelectrode gap inlet and outlet. Additionally, the results of pressure measurements were compared with results obtained from a computer simulation.

Opis:
The paper proposes a method for copper sheet oxidation by using a laser beam. The thickness of the oxide layer increases with temperature growth; therefore, the proper parameters of the experiment such as pulse power, frequency and the speed of the beam were adjusted. High power diode laser was used in the investigations. The topography of the oxidised copper sheets was determined using atomic force microscopy (AFM) and scanning electron microscopy with EDS analyses. Optical parameters of the deposited layer were characterised by spectrophotometry. Both roughness and thickness of the investigated samples were measured using the confocal laser scanning microscope. The technological recommendations for the laser micro-machining technology to obtain copper sheet oxidation by using the high power laser beam were selected.
