Przedstawiony tekst poświęcony jest dyskursowi na temat podstawowych pojęć w epistemologii i metodologii nauk, jakimi są: teoria, teoria naukowa, logiczna struktura teorii, a także wybrane taksonomie teorii, charakterystyka teorii pozytywistycznych (obiektywistycznych) oraz interpretacyjnych (konstruktywistycznych) w naukach społecznych. Analizę kończą wybrane przykłady teorii pedagogicznych.
The text presented is devoted to discourse on basic concepts in epistemology and the methodology of the science: theory, scientific theory, logical structure of theory, as well as selected taxonomies of theory, characteristics of positivistic (objectivist) and interpretative (constructivist) theories in social sciences. The analysis ends with selected examples of pedagogical theories.

Opis:
The paper presents the ethnography of virtual phenomena and processes, conducted in the social, educational and cultural spheres of the Internet. It describes the most important features of the global network and shows all its aspects which are the subject of ethnographic studies at the Faculty of Pedagogy and Psychology of the University of Silesia in Katowice, i.e. the communication process and its semiotic character, the process of creating social networks, education supported by social media, virtual self-help groups for stigmatised people, and cyberbullying.

Opis:
The article is an attempt to characterize the methodology of multidisciplinary empirical research, designed and implemented within technical, exact, natural, social, and humanistic sciences. Three paradigms have been characterized: Education 4.0, Industry 4.0, and Society 5.0. The author’s attention was drawn to the need for a clear formulation of detailed concepts as well as their content and context. The types of possible empirical research and the methods and techniques used in them were presented, attention was also drawn to the importance of the model used in the research. It was considered necessary to disseminate methodological knowledge for the reliable execution of empirical research, allowing for its repeatability, verification, and evaluation.

The article is devoted to the analysis of scientific achievements of researchers and teachers of the Department of Early Childhood Education and Media Pedagogy of the University of Silesia in Katowice during forty years of its functioning in this academic centre. These achievements are presented against the background of the development of theoretical studies and empirical research conducted in leading academic centres in Poland in the field of preschool pedagogy, early-school pedagogy and media pedagogy.
Der vorliegende Beitrag beinhaltet Analyse wissenschaftlicher Leistungen aller Mitarbeiter des Lehrstuhls für frühkindliche Bildung und Medienpsychologie der Schlesischen Universität in Katowice innerhalb dessen 40-jährigen Tätigkeit in dem akademischen Milieu. Diese Leistungen werden hinsichtlich der Entwicklung theoretischer Studien und der in führenden Hochschulzentren angestellten empirischen Forschungen im Bereich der Vorschulpädagogik, frühkindlicher Bildung und Medienpädagogik dargestellt.

Opis:
In the paper, taking into account the empirical research of different authors, the chosen pedagogical, sociological as well as psychological aspects of the on-line teaching and learning processes in the university education are presented. It has been shown that the use of on-line education causes a significant influence on the didactic process in contemporary university. The typical features of the asynchronous learning networks have been discussed in the framework of cognitive psychology, based on the constructivist theory of learning by Jerome Bruner, cognitive constructivist theory by Jean Piaget and the social constructivist theory by Lev Vygotsky. Special attention has been focused on chosen critical variables for successful on-line learning and such groups of problems as: networked collaborative classrooms, community-building paradigm and types of networked interactions. The functions fulfilled by teachers in the asynchronous learning: organizational, social and intellectual, and their competences, have been described.

Opis:
In the work a discussions focused on negative influences of the media on children and adolescents. The following domains of influence have been described: violence and its three effects: copycat violence, desensitization and catharsis; aggressive behaviour, sexual content, body image and self-esteem as well as physical health and school performance. The media change the system of humanistic values and attitudes of children and adolescents. In order to prevent the dangerous influence of the media parents and educators should advocate a safer media environment for children and adolescents through media literacy.
