Opis:: Author presents characteristic of duration of air mass occurrence in Southern Poland in the period 1951- 2009. The highest duration regardless of the season has a continental polar air (3.8 days). The mass of the shortest periods is maritime polar fresh and warm air (about 1.7 day). In terms of seasonal duration is strongly correlated with the frequency. In long-term perspective there is no statistically significant changes in duration.

Opis:: W niniejszej pracy autorzy przedstawiają Inteligentne Systemy Transportowe jako innowacyjne rozwiązania bardzo często ułatwiające i zwiększające jakość życia mieszkańców miast. Pochodzenie autorów determinuje także potrzebę poruszenia w referacie kwestii implementacji ITS w regionie łódzkim. Celem opracowania jest przede wszystkim zwrócenie uwagi na rzeczywistą funkcjonalność ITS oraz naturalną potrzebę ich implementacji w miejscach, w których występuje ruch pojazdów transportu drogowego.
In this paper, the authors present the Intelligent Transport Systems as an innovative solution very often facilitates and enhances quality of life of the average person. The origin of the authors determines also need to be addressed in the paper issue of the implementation of ITS in the Lodz region. The aim of the study is primarily to draw attention to the actual functionality of ITS and the natural need for their implementa tion in places where there is movement of road transport vehicles.

Opis:: Tematem niniejszej pracy jest podjęcie analizy oraz wyznaczenie optymalnej zbieżności tworzącej żelbetowy komin przemysłowy o wysokości 300 metrów. Kryterium optymalizacyjnym przyjętym do analizy jest objętość betonu wykorzystanego do budowy komina. Zagadnienie to ma na celu ułatwienie wstępnego projektowania obiektów tego typu, uwzględniając takie założenia konstrukcyjne jak: wysokość i szerokość wylotowa komina. Przykłady analizowane w niniejszej pracy spełniają wymogi opisane normą.
The paper contains an analysis and attempts to determine the optimum convergence forming 300m tall, reinforced concrete industrial chimney. The criterion adopted for the purposes of the analysis is the volume of concrete used in the construction of the chimney. The aim of the paper is to facilitate the preliminary design of this type of objects taking into consideration the following construction assumptions: height and outlet width of the chimney. The examples described in this paper are compliant with the requirements of the standard.

Opis:: This paper introduces a method of data clustering that is based on linguistically specified rules, similar to those applied by a human visually fulfilling a task. The method endeavors to follow these remarkable capabilities of intelligent beings. Even for most complicated data patterns a human is capable of accomplishing the clustering process using relatively simple rules. His/her way of clustering is a sequential search for new structures in the data and new prototypes with the use of the following linguistic rule: search for prototypes in regions of extremely high data densities and immensely far from the previously found ones. Then, after this search has been completed, the respective data have to be assigned to any of the clusters whose nuclei (prototypes) have been found. A human again uses a simple linguistic rule: data from regions with similar densities, which are located exceedingly close to each other, should belong to the same cluster. The goal of this work is to prove experimentally that such simple linguistic rules can result in a clustering method that is competitive with the most effective methods known from the literature on the subject. A linguistic formulation of a validity index for determination of the number of clusters is also presented. Finally, an extensive experimental analysis of benchmark datasets is performed to demonstrate the validity of the clustering approach introduced. Its competitiveness with the state-of-the-art solutions is also shown.

Opis:: The goal of this paper is to present a solution for detection of human interference in leak detection system for HPFF installation. This solution is based on fuzzy logic. In HPFF systems, that were base of this work, three different types of human interference were observed. For each of them separate systems were developed. This paper describes different types of possible human intervention and solutions for its detection.

Opis:: This paper presents an example model of human body with particular focus on glucose level modeling designed for type 1 diabetes. The first part of the work describes motivation of the research, necessary simplifications of the model, parameters identification methods and implementation method. The second part is focused on an example examinations based on preliminary database of patients. It contains verification and evaluation of the presented model and plans of future work.

Opis:: The goal of this research is to present signals filtering for the high resolution Hotter monitoring system. The first part of this paper concentrates on working of human heart and description of architecture of biopotentials recorder. Opis:: The paper presents the investigation of gyroscopic sensor noise properties used in the construction of body position detection device for posturographic testing. The first part shows the sources of noise in gyro sensors and their measurement methods. In the second part of the paper, the authors describe their own research on the efficiency of the calculation of the Allan variance (one of the popular noise evaluation methods) and the wrong concept of calculations acceleration. The article concludes with an explanation of the reasons for the lack of theoretical research and the results of practical measurements of the sensors used in the project.
