Opis:
Theoretical velocities of binary liquid mixtures of 1-bromopropane with chlorobenzene at 2 MHz and four different temperatures 303.15, 308.15, 313.15 and 318.15 K, have been evaluated as a function of concentration and temperature. The experimental values are compared with theoretical models of liquid mixtures such as Nomoto, Van Dael-Vangeel, Impedance Relation, Rao’s Specific Velocity Method, Junjie’s relations and Free Length Theory. In the chosen system there is a good agreement between experimental and theoretical values calculated by Nomoto’s theory. The deviation in the variation of U2exp/ U2imx from unity has also been evaluated for explaining the non ideality in the mixtures. The results are explained in terms of intermolecular interactions occurring in these binary liquid mixtures.

Opis:
Ultrasonic velocities (U), densities (ρ), and coefficient of viscosities (η) are measured for binary mixtures containing (i) p-chlorotoluene and (ii) benzene at 303.15 K, 308.15 K, 313.15 K and 318.15 K to understand the molecular interaction. Various acoustical parameters such as adiabatic compressibility (βad), free length (Lf), acoustic impedance (Z), free volume (Vf), molar volume (Vm), Rao’s constant (R), Wada’s constant (W) and internal pressure (πi), are calculated from the measured values of U, ρ, and η. The trend in acoustical parameters also substantiates to asses strong molecular interactions.

Opis:
Results of investigation on the transport of vorticity in Rivlin-Ericksen viscoelastic fluid in the presence of suspended magnetic particles is presented here. Equations governing the transport of vorticity in Rivlin-Ericksen viscoelastic fluid in the presence of suspended magnetic particles are obtained from the equations of magnetic fluid flow. From these equations it follows that the transport of solid vorticity is coupled with the transport of fluid vorticity. Further, we find that because of thermokinetic process, fluid vorticity may exist in the absence of solid vorticity, but when fluid vorticity is zero, then solid vorticity is necessarily zero. A two-dimensional case is also studied and found that the fluid vorticity is indirectly influenced by the temperature and the magnetic field gradient.

Opis:
Raman spectroscopy is a commonly used tool in bio-diagnostics and micro sensor technology. Surface-enhanced Raman scattering provides high signal enhancements especially at micro and nanostructured metallic surfaces. Micro tubular coil heaters have been widely investigated because of their extensive applications in PET Preformed Moulds, Hot Runner Nozzles & Bushings and Thin Walled Container Moulds and other Microsystems. This paper describes the characterization, experimental investigation and analysis of Titanium Nitride (TiN) micro tubular coil heater using Raman spectroscopy and Comsol multiphysics. The material characterization was performed using Raman spectrometer and the geometric optimization for the micro tubular coil heater was performed by simulating a wide range of possible geometries using COMSOLTM, a commercial Finite Element Analysis (FEA) package. The characteristic dimensions of the microstructures are varied and the results are discussed and compared to each other. The simulated results of micro tubular heaters having an improved temperature distribution over the sensing area and a higher density of integration is presented in this paper.

Opis:
Investigations on physicochemical parameters (temperature, pH, salinity, dissolved oxygen), including dissolved nutrients (PO4-P, NO3-N, SiO4-Si) and chlorophyll-a were carried out in the water off the mouth of the Narmada estuary from July 2008 to June 2009. The multivariate statistics and principal component analysis applied to the datasets, indicated two factors during the whole study period influencing variability in the water to the extent of 72%. Principal axis factoring and alpha factoring have been used to observe the mode of association of parameters and their interrelationships, for evaluating water quality. The results indicated the addition of phosphates and silicates to the coastal water by the Narmada estuary from natural sources during study period. The study indicated that the Narmada estuary adds sufficiently well-oxygenated, nutrient-rich water to the coastal region.
Analizę parametrów fizyczno-chemicznych (temperatura, pH, zasolenie, tlen rozpuszczony), stężenia pierwiastków biogennych (PO4-P, NO3-N, SiO4-Si) i chlorofilu prowadzono w wodach estuarium Narmada od lipca 2008 do czerwca 2009.

Opis:
The field of biomedicine is still working on a solution to the challenge of diagnosing brain tumors, which is now one of the most significant challenges facing the profession. The possibility of an early diagnosis of brain cancer depends on the development of new technologies or instruments. Automated processes can be made possible thanks to the classification of different types of brain tumors by utilizing patented brain images. In addition, the proposed novel approach may be used to differentiate between different types of brain disorders and tumors, such as those that affect the brain. The input image must first undergo pre-processing before the tumor and other brain regions can be separated. Following this step, the images are separated into their respective colors and levels, and then the Gray Level Co-Occurrence and SURF extraction methods are used to determine which aspects of the photographs contain the most significant information. Through the use of genetic optimization, the recovered features are reduced in size. The cut-down features are utilized in conjunction with an advanced learning approach for the purposes of training and evaluating the tumor categorization. Alongside the conventional approach, the accuracy, inaccuracy, sensitivity, and specificity of the methodology under consideration are all assessed. The approach offers an accuracy rate greater than 90%, with an error rate of less than 2% for every kind of cancer. Last but not least, the specificity and sensitivity of each kind are higher than 90% and 50%, respectively. The usage of a genetic algorithm to support the approach is more efficient than using the other ways since the method that the genetic algorithm utilizes has greater accuracy as well as higher specificity.

Opis:
The welding of nuclear grade P91 and P92 steel plate of thickness 5.2 mm were performed using the autogenous tungsten inert gas (TIG) welding process. The welded joint of P91 and P92 steel plate were subjected to the varying post weld heat-treatment (PWHT) including the post weld heat treatment (PWHT) and re-austenitizing based tempering (PWNT). A comparative study was performed related to the microstructure evolution in fusion zone (FZ) of both the welded joint using the scanning electron microscope and optical microscope in a different condition of heat treatment. The hardness test of the FZ for both joints was also conducted in a different condition of heat treatment. P92 steel welded joint have observed the higher tendency of the δ ferrite formation that led to the great variation in hardness of the P92 FZ. The homogeneous microstructure (absence of δ ferrite) and acceptable hardness was observed after the PWNT treatment for both the welded joint.

Opis:
This article presents the feasibility for the removal of Aniline Blue dye (AB dye) from aqueous solution using a low cost biosorbent material Zizyphus oenoplia seeds. In this study, a batch mode experiments of the adsorption process were carried out as a function of pH, contact time, concentration of dye, adsorbent dosage and temperature. The experimental data were fitted with Freundlich and Langmuir isotherm equations. The feasibility of the isotherm was evaluated with dimensionless separation factor (RL). The kinetic data of sorption process are evaluated by using pseudo-first order and pseudo-second order equations. The mode of diffusion process was evaluated with intra-particle diffusion model. The thermodynamic parameters like change in enthalpy (ΔHº); change in entropy (ΔSº) and Gibbs free energy change (ΔGº) were calculated using Van’t Hoff plot. The biosorbent material was characterized with Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy and the morphology was identified with Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) in before and after adsorption of AB dye.
