Opis:: Nowadays, it is a fact that Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS) have become the primary means of obtaining Position, Navigation and Timing (PNT) information at sea. Most of the ships in the world are equipped with GNSS receivers. And currently these users take advantage of different augmentation systems such as DGNSS or SBAS/EGNOS, as they provide an adequate answer, especially in terms of accuracy and integrity. To take advantage of this improved accuracy, direct access to EGNOS in vessels can be achieved through EGNOS-enabled navigation receivers and EGNOS-enabled AIS transponders. Therefore, the natural question is: Are those GNSS receivers SBAS (EGNOS) enabled? In most cases they are; SBAS is being used. This paper provides an analysis of the number of onboard devices, mainly devoted to navigation purposes and AIS transponders, which are SBAS compatible.

Opis:: The maritime sector was one of the first communities that recognized and exploited the opportunities and advantages provided by Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS). In fact, GNSS have become the primary means of obtaining Position, Navigation and Timing (PNT) information at sea. Most of the ships in the world are equipped with GNSS receivers. GPS provides the fastest and most accurate method for mariners to navigate, measure speed, and determine location. However, its performance can be enhanced by taking advantage of augmentation systems such as differential GNSS or Satellite-Based Augmentation Systems (SBAS/EGNOS), especially in terms of accuracy. Direct access to EGNOS in vessels can be achieved through EGNOS-enabled navigation receivers and EGNOS-enabled AIS transponders. This paper provides an analysis of the number of onboard devices, mainly devoted to navigation purposes, and AIS transponders which are SBAS compatible. In addition, other equipment using GNSS positioning in the maritime and inland waterways domains are also considered for the analysis of SBAS compatibility, including inland AIS, Portable Pilot Units (PPUs) and Dynamic Positioning (DP) equipment. A first survey was done in 2017 to have an overview of the percentage of SBAS enabled devices available in the maritime market [8]. Since then, the analysis has been yearly updated to understand the market evolution in terms of SBAS compatibility and its main results are summarised in this paper.

Opis:: Combining the outputs of multiple neural networks has been used in Ensemble architectures to improve the decision accuracy in many applications fields, including pattern recognition, in particular for the case of fingerprints. In this paper, we describe a set of experiments performed in order to find the optimal individual networks in terms of the architecture and training rule. In the second step, we used the fuzzy Sugeno Integral to integrate results of the ensemble neural networks. This method combines objective evidence in the form of the network's outputs, with subjective measures of their performance. In the third step, we used a Fuzzy Inference System for the decision process of finding the output of the ensemble neural networks, and finally a comparison of experimental results between Fuzzy Sugeno Integral and the Fuzzy Inference System are presented.

Opis:: A simple and inexpensive live trap for capturing fossorial small mammals is described. It consist of a plastic tube (dark and hard, or any other imitation material) with a swinging door at each end. The trap was either positioned along or at the end of the tunnel. The hight efficiency of capture and recapture is shown with four colonies of Mediterranean voles. Up to six traps can be constructed in 1 hour, in any place, with very common and abundant material. The price is very low.

Opis:: Six interesting variants of the logics BN4 and E4—which can be considered as the 4-valued logics of the relevant conditional and (relevant) entailment, respectively—were previously developed in the literature. All these systems are related to the family of relevant logics and contain Routley and Meyer's basic logic B, which is well-known to be specifically associated with the ternary relational semantics. The aim of this paper is to develop reduced general Routley-Meyer semantics for them. Strong soundness and completeness theorems are proved for each one of the logics.

Opis:: This paper describes a modular neural network (MNN) with fuzzy integration for the problem of signature recognition. Currently, biometric identification has gained a great deal of research interest within the pattern recognition community. For instance, many attempts have been made in order to automate the process of identifying a person’s handwritten signature; however this problem has proven to be a very difficult task. In this work, we propose a MNN that has three separate modules, each using different image features as input, these are: edges, wavelet coefficients, and the Hough transform matrix. Then, the outputs from each of these modules are combined using a Sugeno fuzzy integral and a fuzzy inference system. The experimental results obtained using a database of 30 individual’s shows that the modular architecture can achieve a very high 99.33% recognition accuracy with a test set of 150 images. Therefore, we conclude that the proposed architecture provides a suitable platform to build a signature recognition system. Furthermore we consider the verification of signatures as false acceptance, false rejection and error recognition of the MNN.

Opis:: Nowadays, it is common to find on the Internet different conversational robots which interact with users simulating a natural language conversation. Among them, we can emphasize the chatterbots based on AIML language. In this paper we present an AIML based chatterbot that shows as its main contribution the use of tags and folksonomies. Thanks to its use, we can generate a context for each conversation, being able to maintain a state for each user in the system, and improving the adaptation capabilities of the bot.

Opis:: The present article does a chronological tour through some representative maintenance management models, describes them in a general way and classifies them according to their functioning under declarative models and under process oriented models. It distinguishes in addition the innovations proposed by each author and compares the elements appearing on each model with some of the points mentioned by the ISO 9001:2008 standard, as well as other criteria considered suitable to the case. From this analysis are derived the results between which are distinguished some desirable characteristics for a modern and efficient maintenance management model. In addition the application of these models for supporting industrial needs, as well as its future challenges are discussed too.

Opis:: Authors reported data on the somatometry of the white-toothed shrew Crocidura russula (Hermann, 1780) based on 302 specimens (153 males, 149 females) captured between 1980 and 1982 in the Ebro Delta (northeastern Spain). Variations in body size and weight were analysed according to sex, relative age (estimated by tooth wear) and month of capture. Relative and seasonal growth were also studied.
